Is anyone else having issues with voice/text in the Atlanta area? Data works fine but texts come in as undeliverable and calls go straight to an error message recording.

Not sure what the problem could be. I live in Atlanta and my messages and calls are going through
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
I don't know what it is. My phone even shows full signal but other than for a few minutes this morning I haven't been able to call or text.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Have you rooted your phone or flashed a radio? Maybe try updating your PRL or profile? If all else fails I guess you could get on the sprint.com chat and have them reset something on their end. I'm pretty sure its closed right now though

I rooted my phone the weekend revolutionary was released and was running viper rom. Everything was working fine until I came down to Atlanta.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
Something similar happened to me this week while I was on a business trip to San Diego. I've been rooted for a while, but still running stock ROM. I did not get the error 16 after rooting though.
Fastforward a couple weeks, I'm in San Diego for a couple of days and as soon as I get there, voice/msg'ing don't work but data was fine.
After calling Sprint and getting transferred around a little, the final person pushed something to my phone. I powered down pulled the batt for a minute then everything was good to go.
I'd call Sprint if I were you.

Sprint supposedly "refreshed" my service but I'm still getting the error 16 message. I'm on day 3 now of not being able to use my phone.
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
I'd still keep calling and pushing the issue with them. I guarantee you'll be able to get a credit for the down time you've experienced.
It took 6 different reps to resolve mine over a period of several hours.

When it gives you the error 16 are staying on the line till someone picks up? When i had this problem they were the only ones that could fix the problem. I called support first and they were no help. I decided to let the error 16 call connect and she fixed the problem in like 2 mins.
I'm in the Atlanta area, and have no issues. Actually, since I got the new radio, data speeds have been better. ...but, not having any phone issues with dropped calls or signal.

Seriously, make a call and when you get the error just stay on the line, I repeat stay on the line and don't hang up.

So since I've rooted and started flashing roms sms has been going crazy. Around midnight every night I have to reboot my phone because no phone calls will come in and no sms will come in outgoing works fine.
And the. When they do work I get each message about six times or more.
I use the stock sms and popup 7 and am running pkmn ROM any suggestions?

I had similar issues, and narrowed them down to my Airave. When I turn it off, the problem goes away (but reception gets worse, obviously).
Do you have an Airave in your house by chance?
This happened to me earlier this week. I had to exchange phones. Something must be going on!. Sprint could not fix it. I had to call my voice mail to get all my texts and calls to come in.!
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I also had this issue, but it looks like it's my airave. Right now I can get text, but can't send any out while within range of my airave, unless I send it through Google voice. I think the signal emitted by the airave conflicts with the EVOLTEs antenna.

Glad to see I'm not the only one...its to late for me to exchange though
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I ended up calling Sprint on that. The 2nd level tech said that Airave has been having issues on and off for a while, and they've been updating firmware on it pretty often, but he hasn't seen an improvement yet.
He had reset my Airave from his side (it does more than me hitting reset, according to him), and so far I'm not having this issue any more.
Well its been fine so far today after a couple of resets last night. I don't have an airave so I dont think that's my issue...hmmm

Maybe it's your network.... Maybe sprint is doing upgrades in your area.... Or they just have some issues in your area.
Here are some other opinions/ options

Ever since my first evo phone I've had the same issue where messages come in late and in the wrong order... I've only encountered this problem with sense phones
Does any one else have this issue?

I've had that problem but on my evo 3d and my gnex. But the gnex was a lot worse, I returned that one fast cause I had other issues.

Pretty sure that is an issue with or between carriers
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
Not sure if this is a phone related issue you are experiencing?
I will get messages in different orders sometimes but that's just SMS in general.
Are you using Sprint # with Voice integration? I use that and have few issues.
Its SMS is general, Ive been with Verizon, AT&T and now Sprint and Ive had that happen from each one.

No its just plain old sms, I'm gonna try a third party app see if that works

No way it has anything to do with the phone. It just poles the towers for messages, it's up to the sms system to keep it all in order.
Sent from my GT-I9300 ro.cdma.home.operator.alpha using Tapatalk 2
That's def not a reason to return your phone bc at times that will happen on all phones..no matter how "smart" they r
Your issue lies with Sprint, not this phone. It's happend on my original evo, the 3D this phone my wife's Samsung and also her LG and my nephews Epic.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Iv had this happen even w dumb phones its either poor signal on one end or carriers not communicating very well. Could also be a tower problem but not usually.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
I Think it happens most when someone goes over their 160 character limit and one message that got split into 2 gets sent before the other.
This happens to me at work.
I work on the first floor of a hospital, and typically I'm roaming while I'm in the building. On my og evo I never roamed in the hospital but now I do the second I walk in the building.
All my texts come in with the time stamp 5 hours on the future.

I had an issue with text message time stamps when I lose signal in the subway. When I get signal again, the timestamp would show 7 hours ahead of time on the text, but the order is still correct in the text message thread if I send a message after. I changed my time settings to get Automatic date & time and time zone, and it seems to have fixed the issue. I haven't gotten many text messages when I don't have service, so I can't confirm that this works 100%. But the text messages I have received when out of signal (around 4 or 5 messages) show the correct time stamp (the time the person sent the message, not the time I receive it when I get signal again) after I did this. I just tested this by turning on airplane mode, and I am still getting the correct time stamp. Hope this helps.

Please post the link of what you're talking about. My brother has been complaining about this as well.
Search the Sprint website, regarding their tower upgrades, or just Google 'sprint tower upgrade.'

Are you planning on receiving a replacement network?
Because that's the only way to fix your problem. Everyone's gone through this, it's your turn now. These symptoms are very specific and you obviously have the same issue we all have had with the tower upgrades. Wait it out, get used to calling your voicemail, complain and get a free Airave, and that'll help a lot.

I ran into this and they tried to play network outage even though it turned out somehow my google voice took my sms.
In browser go to google voice and sign in. In settings>general make sure your sms forwarding isn't checked to forward them to your gmail account. Then go to settings>phone and make sure your phone is checkmarked and not google talk. I had the forwarding checked somehow and then unchecked it and started to get sms again...after 4 days of "known network outages" with an eta to completionof a week later. Damn liars

Hello folks,
So I was wondering about something, My sister got a text from Sprint on her GSIII and it said we wanted to inform you about upcoming upgrades to the network and such crap and it mentioned something about 4G as well and I wanted to know if anyone else had ever received this and if so did it accompany a tower upgrade to 4G in your area. I ask because I've been with Sprint for a while now and have never received a WiMax or LTE tower near me yet (closest is a couple hours away).
Thanks
Back before 4G was placed pretty much everywhere around me (Camp Hill, PA), I recall getting texted about WiMAX (very slowly) being introduced. I never received the same text for when they converted to LTE.

I looked it up on some other sites and it looks like it doesnt have much to do with the upgrades, it seems to be just a random thing to keep customers.
I also received the text. No updates in my area yet.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
My Gf actually just received one of the texts about upgrades a week ago, that had been made in her area (westland, Michigan) where her phones billing address is, and the 3g speeds are finally bearable/more consistent indoors/outdoors, unlike before where we would both struggle to get 1x indoors....so looks like it's based where your phone is registered/billed at....so there might be some truth in the upgrades happening and the texts corresponding to them...
