Hey guys quick question and yes I did my research before posting this..
So basically I want to remove some of the apps that come pre-installed by Sony.. now should I just use Flashtool to remove those apps such as Timescape and Wisepilot..?? greatly appreciated
x10i 2.3.3 rooted.
Since you have your stock rom rooted.
The best way to remove the pre-installed apps is to use Root.explorer to delete apps under system/app dic.
However,it's not easy to delete pre-installed apps from .ftf file which you used to flash via flashtool.
Since you have your stock rom rooted. You can install busybox & xRecovery first and download a rom like .zip format. Then you can unpack the .zip file and delete the pre-installed apps you don't like under system/app dic.In the end you should pack the .zip rom again and sign it with rom-sign tool then copy the .zip file into your SDcard and use xRecovery to flash it into your phone.
cheers,
Jason
Hi,
take a look at Root Uninstaller but be carefull. Good idea might be to install xRecovery first and make a backup of your image.

Is there a way to package, more (favorites) app into something like a zip file so that when the installation does not install one by one, rather than simply flash the zip file from sdcard ?
(It is very hard to re-install all the applications one by one, after flashing a new ROM)
Thanks in advance !!!
Use MyBackup Pro, Luke!
Does anyone have an idea as to how I can add the apks to the roms I flash without using a computer. As source I used void forever without flashing the addons at first. I extracted the zip with root explorer, deleted what I didn't want. In this case, stock contacts/phone/dialer than repackaged the extracted file and attempted to flash the modified zip but I got a FC. maybe perhaps when I deleted I should of added go contacts.apk. here is what I deleted.
1.contacts.apk
2.contacts storage
What I wanted to replace:
1. Go contacts
A very insiteful person, daxelectro or ciaox told me I would need a computer and resign the modified zip but I'm **** storm up a creek without adb installed and a computer.
I've also attempted at freezing contacts and contacts storage but it misfired on me.
In a perfect world. I'd love to have void forever with poweramp,go contacts,go SMS pro, dolphin browser and go keyboard as stock. Someone think they can point me in the right direction

You should not edit the signed zips.
well if you want only go stuff on your cell phone.
Just re-install the rom (The one provided by the dev himself) ,install titanium backup and give it root rights and now you can uninstall whatever you want.
Go contacts will work fine without stock contacts.[Tested]
But the keyboard wont work without stock you have to keep the stock android keyboard with you and choose go keyboard as default.[Tested]
You must also know This Procedure Is Irreversible
You cannot install the apps you deleted again.
Lets be on the safe side so
MAKE A NAND FIRST THEN PROCEED
Good luck bud.!!!
Hi, i was wondering if there is a way to create a zip package to flash through CWM, in order to install various apks simoultaneously... You know, when i flash a new rom i get bored of having to reinstall everything, and Titanium backup doesn't work properly... so i wanted to create a pack with all my favourite apps, and install them all in once!
Hey there's an app on the market place called easy installer & it can install multiple apps at once no reboot required unless a app prompts u to

Im kinda new so here it goes... I recently been playing around with Xperia Active. I already rooted it and remove/replace some apk. So I'm wondering if i can make my installed apps to stick when I do a factory reset or maybe replace the supplier stock apps?
The only way to keep apps is after rooting, make backups of the whole app with data(using Titanium Backup) and after factory reset place them back.
I couldn't understand, what apps do you want to replace, so I can't answer to that.
Sorry bout that, I remove some bloat apps in the /system/app. Also remove some supplier apps in the /etc/product/applications, then replace it with some apps (i.e. ES File Explorer & Advanced Task Killer). just dumb thinking if it will install itself when factory reset.
got it, just need to place it on the /system/app
BTW, if you have different way I want to try it as well..
OFF Topic: can i make the backup(CWM) file into one ftf/rom file? how?

because I've read somehing in this forum about "ROM kitchen", so I can modify the stock ROM. because so many apps that I want to uninstall it.
2. how to get my current ROM in my phone??
I've search it for 4 days and no one have it. Sometimes I want to go back with the same firmware like I used now.

The stock rom, or the rom, or the firmware, is just the /system folder in your device.
In that folder you have to delete (or rename) in the folder /system/app/yourname.app and the corresponding .odex file to delete it from rom.
You can also use CWM.zip + Aroma Manager and load them sequentially from Recovery, choose in Aroma Manager to mount all partitions and do the above.

There's also the possibility to modify yourself the rom, but, is much more difficult. If you are using Vodafone o other operator custom rom probably there is the unlocked one and is official (stock) as well.
