Hi,
I had around 25 MB of phone storage on my Liberated Aria 2.2.2 phone.
I started a transfer of a 150MB file from my Aria to another phone.
The transfer went till 15% and then stuck. I got an alert saying phone memory is low, please check.
I went to check phone memory and found that Bluetooth Transfer app has 24MB data in it.
Does this mean that files larger than available phone memory cannot be sent over bluetooth to other phones?

using miui 2012.4.5
1) the battery drains from 100 to zero in less than two hours, with everything off except the 3g radio, what?
2) the phone keeps giving an error about having no space left on the internal phone memory. that's completely impossible, my apps take up roughly 2gb, i have 6gb total. because of this i cannot install updates
what in the flying f**** is going on?
EDIT: more broken things;
*the application google services framework crashes every 10 or 15 seconds or so, have to do a force close
*cannot access titanium backup, it crashes on open
*i cannot access the phone data, as whenever i connect it to my computer and try to select "memory access" from the usb dropdown, it always says "charge only mode", and apparently the device drivers cannot be found by windows
Hi,
After rooting the phone (succesfully), I noticed that I no longer get a warning my Phone Storage is getting low when it hits 10MB, but now the warning appears at 20Mb!
Now I can simply ignore the stupid warning, but is seams to be linked to my ability to receive SMS-messages. It will simply stop receiving them as soon as this (lowered) storage space threshold is reached.
How can I set this warning limit, or how can I still receive SMS-messages even if it is reached?
Thanks in advance!
I average about 70-80 MB per month when i was on android. This month im at 160 MB and i started 10 days into the month.
I suspect that I am using LTE/4G even when there is wifi and it is not switching over. I am able to tell with android because i have the 3G watchdog app. and it alarms me if i get close to my 200MB limit.
Question
1. is it possible to check which data its using wi-fi or LTE when both is available ?
2. Is it possible to limit the LTE/4G to only emails that are less than XX Kb so that it not downloading when im travelling to and from destinatoin
3. is it possible to control which apps can utilize the LTE/4G
FYI, Android can be configured to keep wi-fi on while phone is in sleep (default) but WP7/8 can't. Windows Phone will always turn off wifi whenever your phone screen is off unless you keep it plugged into the charger. There is a rumor that this behavior will be changed to inline with Android in next update. But for now, you just need keep that in mind. If you are at home of anywhere connected with wifi, keep it plugged in is the only way to force the phone use wifi.
There is also an app on the market that can create a fake background transfer job to force the phone keep wifi on. Not sure if it is compatible with WP8 and I forgot the name of the app.

This got me looking at my phone, I had a big jump in data usage the last 24 hours. I had backup set to auto and I think it backed up when I was out and had no access to wifi. I shut off auto backup until I can check into it more.
Hey Guys, is there a decent app which can track data usage, possibly showing what apps use the data?

I feel for ya, but an always connected smartphone on 200mb is tough, don't ya think?
Hi,
i have a HTC One M8, S-OFF, Sense Edition, with RD MIUI running. It worked perfectly but since a couple of days the data usage of "Android System" ist really really high. In one day it took 1,5 GB (my full data plan).
I didn't change anything, i didn't install a new application. There is no high data usage on Wifi, but if i turn on mobile data i see there is a current transferspeed of 2-4 MByte / s (you can activate this on the statusbar in miui). As my data plan is empty now, i tried it with another sim-card a couple of days later. And by now i have about 57MB used today, nearly everything by "Android System". But atm it's not constantly draining the data.
I tried to stop the usage by denying mobile network to app 1000 with droidwall and it worked. But after a couple of minutes there was a transferspeed of 2-4 MByte again. WTF.
Also you see a message of a Android Update (No MIUI OS Update!!!) after a lot of data is transferred. It doesn't load completely (even is using wifi) because it's miui and not plain android.
I can't get rid of the message because i can't disable the search for updates (i can for miui, but not for android itself). What i did is disable the notification because in the MIUI Thread they told me to.
Nevertheless there is still more data usage than normal and i don't know how to fix it. Also i'm nearly alone with whis problem because the other users of the same rom have no issues.
Please help, it's really really annoying to loose the data plan after one(!!!!) day.
Thanks!
That is part of miui. It is calling home. They have the same issue they just don't notice for what ever reason. Miui is made to upload a bunch to its servers in China.
If you are on miui there should be an app named "Security" already installed
open it
then tap on Data Usage
then on Restrict -Now you you can restrict which user apps to use data and WiFi and which system apps use data(only)
Hello,
I noticed on this week that Google Play Service -module was using a huge amount of battery (~80 %), also noticed that the service was using a lot of storage (~2 GB). Aswell, the phone was totally stuck. I tried to uninstall the updates of that service and also cleared all the data. That helped for a while, but soon the storage use started to raise again very quickly. After that I did factory reset, but even that didn't help.
Because of no luck with factory reset, I started to investigate where that data is located. Found that file /data/data/com.google.android.gms/databases/context_MYNAME_gmail.com.db was getting bigger and bigger, the size was raising about 1 MB per minute. I managed to open the file when that was quite small, the file contained binary data, but I was able to see string "com.google.android.contextmanager.module.UserLocationModule" repeatedly. Basically something was writing data to that file in a loop and the phone was getting more and more stuck.
So the problem is most probably somehow related to the GPS locations. Seems like that the problem does not occur if I disable the GPS location system OR I allow the Google to get my current location.
Any ideas how to solve the problem? Thanks!
