sense i got my sgs2 from 10 days ago
the screen isnt good like the sgs1
i dont know why the colors isnt good as the samsung galaxy s1
it brighter but not better
on my sgs2 the colors is worst and i dont like it
is there any app in market that can let me know if there is something wrong ?
please give me some tips or solutions to know if there is something wrong with my screen

If it that bad then it sounds like the display is faulty.
Well when I first saw the GSII screen I too thought it is bad, poor than my old S8500. Then eyes got adjusted with it.
But I, personally would say S-AMOLED was much crisper than S-AMOLED Plus. Maybe extra details are there in Plus, but I liked the old version better.
Also make sure you aren't using the Movie settings as Background effect, it's bloody poor.

( on my device the colorse isnt good i see there is a diffrence in the greyness of the colore )
and also alot of thing there is like u see lines between the colors
so guys do u have the same ?

Can please somebody test for me if have similar issue as me...
I noticed that the grey on SGS2 suffers a lot in quality... more visible on reduced light.
I did create a file in Photoshop with fixed grey value.. as you can see from the screenshot attached sgs2 goes more magenta instead of grey+ plus there is a lot of noise too around this value R 100 G 100 B 100
As far as i know the grey is the most difficult color to display because needs to use all 3 leds in the same time...
Anyhow pls let me know if u also have distorted results as me!

Yeah, my icons definitely look darker and has a redder tint to them side by side with the SGS. I've been informed that it has to do with Gingerbread as well, about how Gingerbread hosed up the colors.
I have exactly the same problem. All greys look pink / magenta. I am right now trying to replace my unit because of it.

Why replace it? It's not a fault with the phone. Your next unit will be exactly the same.

Except it isn't, as I don't suffer from it at all regardless of the brightness and background effect.
same here: no pink/magenta on the testpic. looks exactly the same as with my computer monitor.
that is very sad news, seems i need to change my device....

the file test it is in a zip file, you need winzip or winrar to extract the file, after that you can copy to your device and view it...
Also, i made the test on another sgs2 device and they grey is as is supposed to be...
Do we think is a software or hardware problem this is the question?

I hate to say it but I suspect it's a hardware fault with some individual panels, although whether Samsung would view it as a fault is another matter. These screens are incredibly difficult to make and almost impossible to make every one identically, so it's inevitable some will be less than perfect even if that imperfection is only noticeable in certain circumstances (a grey screen in this case). There is another thread on here with someone having a yellowish hue line down the left of their screen when the screen is a certain colour -- another example of a similar issue.

Yep, nothing wrong with mine either using that greyscale test image.
Imagine its a bad batch of SGS2's out there somewhere.
Mine is grey, like the SGS pic in the Op I know what teh pink looks like as my Desire AMOLED version was pinked

Is there such a thing. I got the kies update to 4.0.3, but i hate the old Sammy dialer that comes with it.
Please note that im not actually talking about the dialer wich could be easily changed by any app. but the screen that pops up when someone is calling or when you actually make a call. Im sorry but i don't know what that is called. You know the one that is supposed to show a big pic of your friend, but the Sammy one just shows some stupid phone icon and some ugly ass gradients.

hi guys please see this video and please tell me if your phone's screen do behave like that (side note it's not due to galaxy s3 have low ppi [306] /i can see these waves by naked eyes{i have perfect eye vision}]
How you can help me please open es file manager and go to lan page ( because it have dark brown shade ,which will be easy to see those waves)

Hi, I tried it and I don't get waves. And I know from PC days I am quite capable of seeing flicker. I think what you are seeing looks like a video sync problem. What have you got installed? Maybe you need to check your graphics settings or perhaps Power Saving that may have altered the settings?

Video sync? Wait I see those waves by naked eyes. And did you tried it with full brightness? And no I haven't did any under clock.

I may be using wrong terms. In the old CRT screens it was called sync - that's what your video reminded me of.
Have you tried JJ's suggestion of Factory Reset?
Also do you have anything installed other than how the phone came? If so, list the changes you made - you will probably get more responses if people don't have to ask 'did you do/have this?' and have you say, 'no I didn't' or 'already done that' - tell us what your phone has, what you have done, what conditions etc.
e.g. CF-Root, Omega JB Rom, All Power saving options on - anything you can think of including the ROM/Kernel versions

The issues definitely look lie Vsync issues, though with the quality of the video you posted it's hard to tell. If you phone is now on a true stock rom with no root or anything, then it's likely a hardware fault. Take it back to where you purchased for a warranty repair, there's nothing else that will help you here I'm afraid.
So, probably most of you know that the gallery has the option that lets you edit your pictures ( like photoshop ) adding some effects, making the photo brighter, more coloured and so on and it works really great, but Ive got one issue. the photo looks more than perfect on my phone but when I upload it to my pc its totally another thing. No effects and the picture looks even worse than the one I shot and didnt edit. Im uploading the very same picture on my pc while looking at it on my phone and its very different. Does anyone else experience this issue? Is it fixable? Thank you for the responses. I'm using PA rom 4.1.2 android, if my memory doesnt play jokes with me and if that matters at all, but I think it should.

My PC is completely functional and nothing is wrong with it or with my monitor. Can somebody else report back on this issue? I mean you try and see if its the same on the pc and the phone, so I know for sure?

A friend of mine had an similar problem with his SII.
a pink field began to grow in a corner of the screen and it went bigger and bigger until the whole Screen had very strange colors. He was very lucky because Samsung changed his display for free because of warranty.
It looked very similar to your photo...

Hm wierd because the display should new.
But sadly i dont have the reciept for the phone. Maybe i can just talk to samsung directly, and ask if its still supported by the warranty.
