Hi my phone keeps force closing a process that allows me to make calls it says:
Android.process.phone has encountered a problem and needs to close.
It shows this each time i try to make a call then it disconnects and restarts my sim :/ yet it allows me on the internet still, this is a big problem since i need to make an urgent call soon so please help if you can.

Still have the problem so giving thread a bump, still have the problem :/

What firmware are you using? When did the problem start?
If anything just make the necessary backups and just reflash the phone.
Try wipe dalvik cache and fix permission, if didnt help reflash your ROM.

Hey folks,
This has been a problem for sometime. Every now and then my x10 will completely drop connection, wether its 2G or 3G. The signal bar shows a little X sign next to the bars. Sometime it will do it when im downloading apps ot browsing the web.
Any ideas or fixes?
Cheers Sean

Oh btw im on Orange UK, and 026 firmware.

Use titanium backup and freeze the se backup utility. This is usually the cause, if so remove if you wish.

had exact same problem, on both o2 and unbranded fw's. can't seem to solve it, thinking it might be hardware prob.
might give one click root a go and try removing se backup like suggested above.

hasn't made a difference here unfortunately. doesn't seem to be related to battery temperature either.

I have exactly the same problem. Doesn't matter if I am stationary or moving.
Can someone please help me. My Vibrant just randomly restarts or freezes mostly w/calls. I didn't have these issues until I received T-Mobile's OTA the other day. I came here and seen others complaining about the exact same thing. I then began to read the instructions, on how to get into Download mode and flash J16 through ODIN. I thought I was all good until my phone would start to reboot w/incoming and outgoing calls and randomly freeze on me. I thought it was an issue with that specific ROM so I flashed JC OC/UV ROM and yet the problem persist. Does anybody have an idea as to what the problem is? Oh, by the way I am ROOTED.

Had similar issues, used rom manager to boot into recovery menu, fixed permissions from there, then cleared dalvik cache and that fixed my problem.
Sorry! Didn't work.

Do you have any gameloft games or adobe reader?
My phone freezes like that whenever I've used a different kernel with Voodoo. But it sounds like you have the problem with or without a different kernel.

Yes I have Asphalt, and Avatar. I also have Adobe Readerâ„¢. Is that what's causing it? If so; what about those apps and games cause my phone to randomly reboot and freeze?

I'm also overclocking. However this was happening before I started overclocking as well.

Make sure your min setting in setcpu is 200 and set the Max to 1 ghz. Apparently some phones cannot handle OC'ing, mine being one of them. I personally prefer the stock kernel because I have only had problems with other kernels with or without Voodoo.
As for adobe reader, if you search you will find several posts regarding an issue whereby the app causes our phones to randomly reboot. Same with some gameloft games. I for a fact know hero of Sparta is no good in this regard.
Good luck

Sorry, I can't help but I just ran into the same problem...
I am having the same problem.need to re-send the same msg twice or thrice. Its really nuts!!!
It is no problem if i use the stock messege app. It is fail if i use handscent. (At least to me because I did not find somebody else have this problem with handscent.)
Now I usually use grouptext. And it works perfect.
But if you still facing the same problem, may be you should check your cellular provider. Because sometimes this will happen.
Hope this information will help

This fault surely has to be with the phone, as it can't b my sevice provider, as I use the same sim in a different phone, and texting of that is fine.
I've tried using chompsms, but its still giving me the same prob.
Anyone got any ideas?? Cause I'm running out!!

Try setting the mobile connection to gsm only. And send the sms again.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Seems to b working now, why is that? Is this a bug or something!?
Sent from my X10i using XDA App

You might need to enter the correct service center number. Call your operator.
Had a similar problem, couldn't receive sms, but could send. Was advised to get a newer sim card (mine was 5 years old) and to do a master reset on the phone. Worked for me. Reseting sucks.

i did call my operator. at first, they gave me a sms center no. but i couldn't find the setting to enter the no. then i called again and was advised to call se service centre for help. my phone is an unlocked Germany version while i live in China. so i wasn't given a spefic answer. they just said the sim card was recognised by the phone automatically so normally changing sim card won't cause any problem.

master reset is factory reset?

Hi guys... I have a problem and I hope you can help me.
When I do some calls. The phone just goes finish. A message appears and says that the android.phone has stopped.
I'm just root, I use the stock rom and I use Go Launcher
Help me please....
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
have you been flashing custom Roms/restoring data with tb? I suggest clearing data of the phone.apk 1st, and see if this sorts the problem
I clear the data but the message still appearing. " the process com.android.phone has stopped"
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
...are you on stock or custom Rom?
I'm stock room. I just root the phone and use Go Launcher
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
you can try a factory reset but be aware you will lose your data doing this so backup first
If I do a factory reset Is it ok if I make a backup or not ?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
A factory restore is the only one solution??. Help me please.....

I'm having the same problem, but only when calling or receiving from one number in my contacts. Sometimes the call completes but with the error on the screen and a circle instead of network in the notification bar. The number never shows in call log either even though I've had a conversation or missed call.
The contact is on tesco mobile in the UK, I am on giffgaff. Both are through the O2 network.
I never have this problem with any other contacts.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using Tapatalk 2
Could the problem be the contacts.???. I have this problem with a contact. So I erase that name from my contacts. Then when I call the number again it goes well. Maybe there is a problem with contacts and phone ???. I really dont know.
