Hello,
I've rooted my stock 2.3.3 with flash tool, but after the kernel upgrade, the phone isn't recognized by the FlashTool, so I can't ask root access and install xRecovery.
What am I doing wrong? I'm using flashtool 0.2.9 (tried with 0.3 but it's weird, doesn't seem to work as good as with 0.2.9)

You sure that you're using DooM's flashtool for GB rooting and xRec.?
Because if you use the ordinary flashtool it won't install the proper xRec. for 2.3.3 roms.

If u can't update with SEUS, u need to use flashtool for X10, just download the genetic ROM and install it, it's easy, no big deal.
I hope u can do it, cya

You can flash the ROM via xRecovery to get the latest baseband & kernel.
Is in general section, make a little search.
I could install via flash, the problem is that my phone is not recognized by the PC, that includes the flash mode
basically the only thing I can do is use the xrecovery, and acess the SD card.
so I stuck to the baseband version of .49.
anyway I think I found the post about it. Tehouster Thanks!
I found the post but need to install the .sin files by FlashTool anyway = (

You can use xRecovery for the FW, but the kernal needs to be flashed with the flashtool.
this is the post I had seen,
Although I can install the 435.zip with xrecovery
but not to install the 435_FT.zip because this is installed via Flashtool...
By the way, installing only the 432.zip, the baseband becames Unknown and will not recognize SIMCARD

Well, do u got installed PC companion? If not just install it, and the driver will be installed too, the just open flash tool, select the files u want flash, click on flash button and connect your device in flash mode and this time your system will recognize the device !!

is there a way to flash xrecovery through flash tool, ive really screwed up my x10 and xrecovery wont install the normal way, but flash tool is working fine for!
Erm ... yes.
Make sure that you have install unknown apps and usb debugging turned on.
Run flashtool.
Plug in your phone.
Ask for root permissions (assuming you have rooted your phone, if not click on root)
Then click on xrecovery.
That does it for me. Or if you have really screwed your phone and want to recovery a previous back up and that won't work just flash a stock firmware in flashtool, then root, then add xrecovery.
Hope this helps.
cheers for the help;-)
I have a Big (or maybe little) problem.
Yesterday i got stuck on flashing to WB rom dint boot again and cant get acces to Xrecovery so i did flash back to 2.1 again i thought.
now PC Companion reconised it to be GB and install the stock GB rom.
But now i cant get Xrecovery, Busybox and Root Explorer to work.
I have still Costum Kernel installed so is there any way to get it all to work again?

You need to download your original firmware from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872298
Or if you can't find it just look for global firmware and download that
Then extract the ftf from what ever firmware you decided to download and put it in the firmware folder in flashtool
Then flash your x10 and that will install 2.1 firmware onto your phone.
Then you need to (with flashtool) root your phone. Then after reboot, ask permissions, then add xrecovery..
Then you can re flash custom 2.3
I found this topic http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1193753 and workt perfectly for me.
Its the same way you are saying.
So thanks for that.

HEY guys...thanks for your hard work here...
i've a problem,
SHORT VERSION:
1-downloaded Doomlord gingerbread backup and made "factory reset"
2-no access to xrecovery (actually i've missed with them in system/
3-no root permission and can't get it with flashtool
4-all i can do is to use the phone in flash mode
5-NOW HOME BUTTON DOES'T WORK,POWER OPTIONS SHOW ONLY POWER OFF,AND I GUESS NO USB DEBUG IS WORKING AS FLASHTOOL NOR SUPERONECLICK NOR ADB METHOD CAN ROOT THE PHONE
Now I'm asking,....can i root or flash custom rom without usb debug??
LONG VERSION:
1-downloaded Doomlord backup
2-wanted to install wolf GB TW or z's uncap
3-my old xrecovery can't mount SD
4- i thought the error had been in the phone so i made a factory reset
5-after the reset i still had a root access
6-downloaded xrecovery 0.3 + unzip
7-copied sh&xrecovery.tar in system/xbin
8-copied 2 charger files to system/bin
9-still the old xrecovery
10-copied the xrecovery.tar in system/bin
11-no recovery mode at all
12-i later i realized that i've no more root access
13-tried 2 factory reset and superoneclick and root with flashtool and with adb exploid method -all not work-
14-then i realized that USB debug may not be working as there's no notifications about it
15-tried some .apks -Gingerbreak&x10iroot- also not work
PLEASE HELP IF U CAN...
since you can connect it in flash mode i suggest flashing stock 2.1 and take it from there
i can flash the firmware in flash mode...but can i flash the ROM?

Yes and no.
No because you can only flash official sony ericsson firmwares using flashtool.
Yes because when you flash back to 2.1, you can root, install xrecovery, and install any rom you want (providing you have the correct baseband).

Hi at all,
i installed on my xperia x10 mini pro the newest version of miniCM7.
For recovery is CWM now on my phone, before i had xrecovery.
But with CWM Flashtool 0.3 couldnt find my phone when i choose a firmware to flash...for example one firmware from this list: Firmware X10
Could i install xrecovery again for recovery?
Have a nice day
coder90
Flashtool, doesn't works with CWM.
You, can always restore xrecovery, if u need to.
If u want the tool for reverting back to xrecovery, search it in dev section.
Or PM me, i will message u the link.
Make sure you use flashtool pre v3, so you want a 2.9.x beta otherwise it wont detect your phone. Having CWM installed has no baring on whether or not flashtool can detect your phone, i've used it since having CWM without ill effect.
Run the gordonsgate.exe included with flashtool and make sure you have SE companion installed, but exit the SE companion and dont have it running in the background. Reboot after installing.
It should then work without a hitch.
