Turn on vibration with audio as well? Certain AOSP roms (at least cm7) allow you to boost up the decibel output, but it tends to sound distorted.

Be very careful doing this, these speakers aren't meant to be super loud. The speaker may blow itself out.

volume+ app if u using gingerbread

CM7 has options to increase decibel levels of ringer, notification and alarm.

I've had the same issue with the current CM7 rom I am using with netflix and VPlayer... On the other hand the ringtones seem to be super loud..

[Q] App for audio level/balance?

Is there an app to control the volume L/R ? I'd like to use it to get the sound coming only from left speaker (headset).

which rom are using ,definately seems to be a problem with your headset as it has nothing to do with left/right speakers.
Hey, it's not a problem. I want to do that myself. I suffer from tinnitus and it's only on my other ear, so I'd like to balance the volume so the sound will only come from the right speaker.

SO...in tha specific case you need MONO headphones.
I think if you try to output double power from one of the audio channels you'll have audio distortion...
Thanks I'll look into it then
oh sorry i didnt read properly ur query i thought u r getting sound from just 1 side

Volume Booster? Not media

I"m looking for a volume booster that will make ring tones and the like louder, not the music (that's plenty loud)...but I guess I have a hard time hearing and it seems like text/ring/notification/email tones are all very quiet, even with the volume turned all the way up.
Anyone? Also running ICS.
I think there's LITERALLY an app called, "volume booster" XD check it out man!

I thought it was only me having that issue. I have a new Motorola elite and the Jawbone era and I can barely hear the ring notification on my headsets. When I answer everything is loud and clear. I'll try the DSP apk as well and I'll post something if I find a fix. It's the same whether I'm on ICS or any of the collective roms.

Just curious did you root your phone or alter the ROM? On the free version it gives a warning not to download if you are using a stock rom or Kernel. I am stock just wanted to make sure.

Does it increase the in-call volume when using the handset? If so, how did you do it? I can't get it to increase mine.
Can't get it to increase anything, and I did make it the main volume control app.

I've never tried to make the call volume any higher to be honest,..though I know it has options to set up a higher in call level setting....seems like it adds something to the build prop so I never tried...lol...

How would one remove the volume limiter on stock rom?

The Samsung galaxy note seems to limit the available volume because of safety reason. I found a post that removes the volume limit for call volume but I need it for music volume
I've tried everything that people have suggested. The only thing that worked was using an equalizer from the market and then using an application other than the stock music player (like power-amp) to listen to music. Unfortunately this doesn't sound that great as even at small equalizer gain values it seems to degrade the sound quality and ultimately at higher gains distorts. Sadly even after rooting and running non-stock ROM's I can't seem to boost the audio values.
In most headphones and auxiliary ports the phones volume is quite good through the mini-jack. However, my work truck is awful and it needs to be boosted and maxed when streaming internet radio to even have a moderately loud listening volume.

Volume+ app by Meltus worked for me on the Unofficial ROM -- at least I think it did. Maybe it was just the EQ settings that did it?
Can you point me to the post that removes the volume limit for call volume? That's exactly what I need!
Same here. Call volume is pretty quiet on GB, or ICS.

This is a little silly, but have you both made sure you're actually lining up the speaker with your ear when you're talking on the phone? The phone is so big that it didn't line up the same as smaller phones. I notice quite a bit of difference when I adjust the speaker to line up directly with my ear.

I did notice that in your other thread. It did make a real difference but not enough unfortunately.

Enhance Headphone sound volume [NOUGAT] [7.0]

This is a simple modification to the MTK Settings
It's tested in the following roms: (might work on 6.0 but not sure)
- Stock Rom
- Eragon V1
What it does, it enhances the headphone's sound to its full potential
All you have to do is:
1: Enable Debug Options (settings, about phone, press build version several times, go back to settings and there should be a new option there, open it and close settings).
2: Download MTK Engineering Mode from playstore.
3: After Installing it, Open it and select MTK Settings.
4: Go on Hardware Testing - Audio - Volume - Audio Playback.
5: On 3/4-pole Headset set the Headset PGA to 160 and save.
6: Test and see the differences ?
It's a really simple modification, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask ?
hi, I did that but volume is still too low for me (I'm hard on hearing).
do you know which file contains those values, I would like to set it higher than 160 (I'm rooted)?

you cant set to higher than that, and even if it could it would just degrade the speakers even more, causing to either malfunction or lose eveb more volume to a point of no returb... This is a modification to the earphones only, you can mess with the speakers and put on the max that the app allows, but thats it, anything above the limits will degrade the speakers.

thank you for your response!
sorry if I didn't make it clear; I was talking about earphones, not phone speaker. I want louder sound on my earphones!
I edited some volume file in vendor\etc folder, made headset PGA value to 250, but it didn't do anything...

The 160 is the max volume.
So, if instead of applying for 3/4 pole Headset I apply it for Speaker label it will improve the sound on my Elephone speaker?

it might enhance, but the sound quality is already bad.. enhancing it even more will mostlikelly cause even more distortion
