[Q] Screen protector for X2? - Motorola Droid X2

Hi all it's me again lol. I wanted to know your guys' recommendations for screen protectors for our wonderful device. I know it's made of gorilla glass and that it's really durable, but I have more of an issue with leaving fingerprints on the screen and not being able to smoothly drag my fingers across the screen and I wanted to know if you guys knew of any screen protectors with more of a matte feel. Thanks!

Personally i don't use anything

If you get the anti-glare ones from Verizon, they definitely help. It gives you a matte look and also takes away some of the "prettiness" of the screen. I bought some because my daughter was making my screen filthy, but ended up taking it off.
I bought some Vizio screen cleaner at Walmart and use it every morning. It's supposed to protect as well as clean, and I've noticed a difference in the amount of smudges everyday.

I use the built in screen protector that came with my otterbox defender. LOVE IT!!!

i got the only matte one they offered in the Verizon store
despite a big ugly gouge at the bottom-left that i could have complained about when the employee put it on it's super awesome
if it takes from the prettiness of the screen, then my eyes are in ruins.
honestly if you've ever applied a slight blur filter to really colorful objects(aka ANIME LIKE), then you'd see it actually does favor
that and, no-1 likes to clean smudges/have their finger get caught when trying to drag across the screen, really annoying, good riddance smudges + glass finger hold

I bought some 3 pack on amazon for $0.69. Seems to work as good as the $10 ones at the store.

I Use ZAGG, Lifetime Guarantee/Warranty. The Only Thing It Costs You For A Replacement Is An Envelope And Stamp. You Can Get One For $24.99 Straight From ZAGG.

I Have The Clear One From Verizon. It Is Really Nice And Fingerprints Come Off Easily. Only Thing Wrong Is That The Verizon Rep Placed It On Crooked, But It Doesn't Really Matter Because Only A Slither Is Uncovered...That And The Face That I Am Lazy.

+1 To Being Lazy.

I'm on the fence with the whole screen protector thing, too ...
I put a ZAGG on my old HTC HD2 Leo, and had one of the mall kiosk guys put one on my wife's Incredible, but I couldn't get over the change in tactile feel and (what I perceived as) the loss in sharpness.
I dropped my DX2 for the first time last night and thank God it was in a decent case. The phone was unmolested - as was the case (a Yoobao plastic/rubber number that fits over the super extended battery) - but I practically had a coronary. I can only imagine if something had hit the screen on the way down to the concrete ...
Does anyone have personal experience with a screen protector actually protecting the screen from impact? Or do they more or less prevent some of those niggling scratches that inevitably plague the screen over time?

Positive They Only Are Meant For Scratches As There Is Not Strength Or Integrity With A 1/16in Of Clear Flexible Plastic. If It Was Solid Then That Would Put A Whole New Paint Job On Things.

I happened to read the separate thread on ZAGG, which really provided for mixed reviews.
I hate any kind of unnecessary distortion, so I'm a bit reluctant to try another screen protector - especially if the protection provided is minimal.
Someone did mention the Zeinheil Crystal protector, which seems to strike a better balance between scratch protection and clarity preservation. Apparently, these are available in a 3-pack off Amazon for $14.99.
Something to think about, in any case ...
Pj

That's Right, I Used ZAGG On My OG And I Dropped It Screen Down On The Pavement And Nothing Got Broken Or Scratched. Only Reason I Have It Now On My X2. Also I Have Never Encountered Any Distortion To Screen Color. No Matter What You Decide It's Cool. I Really Like The Lifetime Guarantee That It Came With. Shoot Me A PM Or Post Here On What You Decide And What You Notice Pros/Cons.

Screen protectors do protect from falls to a certain extent. I'm sure if it feel over 10ft and landed on the screen or a pointy piece of something it would crack.
One time I was running in Home Depot (lol) and my phone flew out of my pocket. It hit the floor and then, I unknowingly kicked it another 10 or so feet. It was screen down the whole time and had not a single scratch. I had one of those cheap Verizon ones on too.
Another time I was skateboarding..my phone fell out of my pocket and landed facedown. Thankfully I bailed in midair, so my board just missed it, but my heel did hit it. Luckily, I'm a hurdler, parkourist, and skateboarder so I landed mostly on my toes but I did lean back onto my heels and my screen was fine. That was without a protector.
Earlier this year, I think I threw my bookbag, and my keys scraped against my Droid's screen, it has a small shallow gash now. My phone was naked..no case no protector.

Does the Invisibleshield cover the whole phone or the screen

Does the Invisibleshield cover the whole phone or is it just a screen protector?
It covers pretty much the entire rear and the screen. There is no cover for the 'frame' of the front.
IMHO It's very tough, quite tricky to put on the back (of an XDA Mini S with textured surface) and would have been better if it covered the exposed front parts (but I guess the various button and LEDs get in the way).
Re: Does the Invisibleshield cover the whole phone or the sc
The Invisible shield comes in two styles. One is for the whole phone the other just for the screen. I have a Cingular 8125 with the whole phone style. The kit comes in precut pieces which you apply to various areas of the phone. So it offers a fair amount of protection but does leave some gaps. The screen cover is the best I have ever used.

I had also seen these on Ebay and was wondering if anyone had used it.
The "infomercial" has sold me on it, but I really wanted to get some opinions from others who bought it and used it before I took the plunge.
So, even if just the screen protector does the job, it would be money well spent??

Yes, the screen protector is worth the money. I would suggest buying directly from their website. They do not charge for delivery as they do on ebay
invisible shields are THE BEST screen protectors hands-down. I have been using them for ipods, cameras, and all my phones. It's always the first accessory I buy. I'm using one on my 8125.
Easy to put on, doesnt scratch, STRONG, and wont leave a residue if you choose to remove it- which you never will do and it will never come off, either. Plus they have a lifetime guarantee. Highly recommended for any gadgets.
Best piece of gear hands down. I have the "Full Body" on my 8125 and just a screen protector on another. I bought direct since I live here in Salt Lake City, UT. As for somebody saying it never comes off once it is on us untrue. Just respray it and carefully lift an edge and it will come off.
RE: Does the Invisibleshield cover the whole phone or the s
I just tried to put mine on today, and it didn't cover the entire screen. It's like alot of screen protectors that I've used in that it leaves a 1-2 millimeter gap around the edge. I decided not to use it, and opted to use my WriteShield screen protector that I got from PocketPCTechs. I've tried their AG and C* (clear) screen protectors, and the C* screen protector is the clearest screen protector I've ever seen. And it cover the entire screen of the 8125.
Having said that, I went ahead and put the rest of the InvisibleShield protectors on the rest of my 8125 and I like it. I've got and IS on my IPOD also, and it does a pretty good job.
However, removing is does leave some residue. Like the one for the 8125 the IPOD version comes in multiple sections, and I didn't like the placement of a the pieces that go over the circular sections of the IPOD, so I decided to remove them and maybe try to re-apply them. When I pulled them off, they left a gummy, glue like residue. I did manage to clean it up with some GooBGone. I'm not sure if I'll be able to re-apply those pieces or not since they are not "clear" any more. Maybe there's a way to wash them or something to clean them up.
I may have done something wrong (and if I have, someone please tell me what it was cause I realy like the IS for my IPOD), but I couldn't find anything on their website which gave any instuctions for removing.
Does the 1-2 mm gap around the edge really make a huge difference?
RE: Does the Invisibleshield cover the whole phone or the s
It does to me. Invariably I would always slide of the edge with the pen. Plus it's kinda noticible when you look at it. It's more of a personal thing really. If you're OK with it, then I think the protector that comes with the IS would be a really good one. I just like to have to whole screen covered.
You do know you can order the IS a custom size to fit your needs.
Here's my review of the Invisible Shield, which I installed onto my 8125 earlier this week.
The quality of the material is excellent. I have no doubts this will save my entire phone from bumps and bruises. However putting the stuff on left me hating and liking it at intervals during the "ordeal". Unless one has steady hands and lots of patience it would be nearly impossible to put the pieces on without getting your finger prints on the underside of each piece. The adhesive is seriously good.
I did manage to get all the pieces on, after about 90 minutes. I did have to rinse the screen cover several times in order to clean the underside of smudges left by my fingers. I also had to lift a corner once to take out a bubble that just would not come otherwise. Even at that I was not impressed with how the screen looked immediately after applying it. But now, 4 days later I have to say that the claims of the bubbles working themselves out over time are entirely accurate. The shield is now crystal clear and undoubtedly a good protective device.
The material also has the characteristic of making the phone very grippy. I like that about it. What I don't like so much is that there are many pieces, and you can feel the edge of each one when you hold or handle the phone. This is because the material is thick, and that helps to provide the protection, but it takes some getting used to. The grip can be felt when using the stylus as well, but fortunately the digitizer on the screen is very sensitive so a light touch works well, and this minimizes the drag created by the material.
My final impression is that the kit is worth the money. It will protect the phone from all but the most careless handling, or serious accident. It is nearly invisible and makes for a better, albeit edgy, grip. I wouldn't want to apply it again, but then I shouldn't have to given its toughness. Perhaps next time I'll pay someone else to apply it for me. ;o)
Invisible Shield
FYI. I purchased mine (full cover) for my 8125 at a mall kiosk. They guy asked me if I wanted him to install it as it is tricky.
I have little patience for such things (like airplane models), so I had him install it for $5 extra.
It was WELL WORTH IT!!! The install was top-notch and I am very, very happy.
Could someone post the picture (front, back, side) of the MDA or 8125 with invisibleshield in it. I know that it might be difficult to see it clearly since the shield is almost invisible. Could someone put some arrows in the picture on where the shield is applied. I would like to see which area gets covered before buying it. TIA.
I contacted the seller and asked for the picture. But they don't have it.
Also, once you apply the invisibleshield, can you safely carry the MDA naked in a purse together with all kinds of stuff such as keys, pens, notes, etc?
I'd like to see some photos as well

Best Screen Protector

Just got the TP2 and looking for the best screen protector. What do you think is the best and why?
I rather like the one it comes with.
If it didn't have that, I probably would have gone with another Martin Fields aka OverlayPlus. They served all my Treos well. The Mogul one was a little disappointing, but I'm hoping it was just a bad run.
huge thread here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=520544
im using and like the dcmugen ones (ebay seller name , dcmugen88 )
just looked from when i posted on here 6 weeks ago , its still in real good condition , only has a few light scratches
Yea I saw the thread, wanted more to get a poll than anything.
Boxwave Crystal Clear is my favorite. Also the Martin Fields. Both not on your list.

+ 1 installed the one from HTC (with the shower steam method) and it was my first ever perfect (no bubbles, hair lines etc) application... been on for 6 weeks and still looks great
Waiting for Wrapsol...saw a YouTube comparison between this and the Zaag...very impressed as it appears to be thinner and virtually a smooth/clean fit....Wrapsol told me they should have one for the VZW TP2 this week.

If I put on a protector that is NOT anti-glare, does it cause it to have more glare in the sun? Because Id rather have more transparency then anti-glare.
the HTC default one do get scratch up rather easily compare to other SP
I've tried a bunch of screen protectors, and my favourite one is the Martin Fields one.
The only problem is that because it is an edge-to-edge screen, I've peeled each and everyone of those screen protectors off, while getting it out of my pocket on the plane. They need to give us more leg room!
Btw, the TP2 is perfect for plane flights =) Beats the on-flight entertainment anyday.
Looking to get a new screen protector and case now >.<
I've tried InvisibleShield and BestSkinsEver...
So far I've used BSE for almost every device I have and they're the best to me.
Waiting on my BSE in the mail that I ordered a few days ago.
The SP that the phone comes with is CRAP!

If you put on BSE (BestSkinsEver) right you can hardly notice that it's their. NO SMUDGES on the screen after a call from your cheeks (BB 8900)! VERY LIGHT finger prints on the screen after scrolling or whatever. (iPod Touch).
Most importantly no dirt around the edges after a while. You know how sometimes you would start seeing dirt or whatever around the edges when using a screen protector.

I was in email communication with BSE but they still do not have a skin for Tilt 2 and they weren't even aware that the tmo version was different than AT&Ts...
Ordered one from bodyguardz, I've never used theirs so will be interested in their quality vs BSE or zagg.

Yes, I was told they had an issue with that and my order had a delay. I should receive it this week.
I'm using the ClearProtector Extended kit. This is the second phone I've used one on. Once on correctly they're very protective and can't be scratched. They're also completely clear. The trick is doing it right, which isn't as hard as it seems, especially if you do it in a room with no dust, such as a bathroom after running the shower to take any dust out of the air.
oy, I can't even make a decision because someone keeps throwing out another brand.
Bodyguards!Bodyguards!Bodyguards! No fingerprints, clear as no screen protector, and way better control over touch! Yes it actually is more precise with Bodyguards on and its just as smooth as without a screen protector! Plus you get to cover your whole phone! Tip: once you install it will look ugly with lots of bubbles- squegee them out with the included card as best you can but within a day every little bubble will be gone. I tried to clean it because I thought it was dirt but luckily they include two sets. There's also a lifetime replacement with $4.95 shipping. By far the best purchase I'VE MADE - the total body coverage makes the phone glossy and sleek.
do the bodyguardz look visible or feel weird (such that you have many different pieces)??
oh no you don't feel it at all. If you do it perfectly there will be no gaps. The covers are stretchable though if you pull hard enough and on a couple corners I did overlap because I kept stretching it but its not noticeable at all. The phone feels a lot better to handle, no longer that cheap plasticky feeling.I love the screen, it feels smooth but there is just enough resistance that it doesn't slip. I finger it a lot with the screen off - it just feels nice to touch lol and I like watching people stare at me when I scratch at it with my nail when Im bored in class or church lol.

Antiglare Screen Protector and Stylus

So as many of you may have noticed during your uses with the nook in either bright lighting, in the car, or straight up outside (to cold for that here), the glare on the screen can get quite bad. So i was looking online for a decent antiglare for the NT or NC and i stumbled across this:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004MC4KF8/ref=fb_lfb_prodpg_0
A cheap, 2 pack with stylus, antiglare screen protectors. Now im not going to claim its the best one on the market, but if your looking for a cheap one, then go with this. It has been working very good on my NT, and it makes the screen feel silky smooth, not to mention severely reduces the nasty grease lines from my fingers.
Also, the stylus was actually surprisingly good. I've used numerous ones (cheap ones, for sure, but still multiple) styluses and this is easily the best one I've found. Nice and solid with a reactive tip that doesn't grip the screen or seem like it will fall off.
I can second this I actually purchased the same thing like a week ago. I love my protector its real nice and the stylus is pretty good. A little too sensitive with the app drawer (it likes to open apps when trying to turn the app pages) but other than that its perfect!
Just received this today and I must concur...a quality screen protector and stylus! I purchased my wife the Caseen case also and we've been really happy with it as well.
I purchased the official B&N anti-glare screen protector for $20 (eek!). I got it mainly because my daughter somehow manages to get food and who-knows-what-else on the screen. B&N says not to use moisture when cleaning the screen, but that's the only way to get the crud off. So, I got the B&N protector.
Anyway, despite comments online about people destroying both sheets in the process of installing them, I installed mine without any problems. First I made sure the screen was completely clean with absolutely no dust on it. Then I peeled back just an inch or so of the removable film, pushed the top edge of the sheet to where the case meets the screen, then slowly peeled back more as I pushed the sheet onto the screen, by bending the sheet as I worked my way down the screen. No air bubbles. No dust. No dirt. It's perfect and it looks like it will last forever.
I've got the glareshatter screen protector, its fantastic. That metal stylus is fantastic too. Do yourself a favor and hit up your local auto parts store and pick up a microfiber cloth, keep it on hand for cleaning. Also a little white vinegar on the microfiber does the job nicely.

Hey Guys,, i am thinking of getting the above,,, i read in the forum some of the screen protector is causing harm to the screen....
is this case with this screen protector also???
Can somebody show some light on it.
Cheers!!!!!!!!!!
I bought the Import version of the Caseen Glareshatter for under $10 on ebay. Never owned the Caseen's standard protector, so I can't compare.
This is what I like:
Easy to install - it's about 2mm narrower than the screen
The feel is about perfect
Glare is definitely reduced though you still have to compensate when it's extreme
The fingerprints are there but only vivilbe from an angle with the screen off. They don't affect the visibility with the screen on.
Thing I don't like:
Makes the screen darker which is especially noticeable on the white background. I had to increase the brightness about 10% to compensate for it.
Only had for a couple of days but I am very happy so far.
Any idea where to get those in Europe? I could only find shops in the US carrying them (on ****ingly high shipping rates).
I trusted you guys and got the Glareshatter screen protectors. They really make a huge difference. Installation is really easy, just be sure to clean the screen first.
so is this glareshatter version truly the best then?
Just alittle weary on how it effects the clarity. Since some of those amazon reviews mention it.
Citizen Toxie, I was a little worried about that, too. But honestly, it's really hard to tell there's even a screen protector installed. I haven't tried any other brands, because I've really been satisfied with the import Glareshatters.
So you haven't seen it make the screen darker then? I usually keep my screen at 50%, so I'm hoping it looks the same.
If so, I will probably just grab that one.
I had my system brightness set to 30% before installing the screen protector, and I haven't changed it since.
gotcha. thanks.
guessing you grabbed the import one off ebay then?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/caseen-Nook...?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item4cfc1c766b
nevermind. all good now.
I actually got mine off Amazon in a packaged deal with a stylus. They're also available on Caseen's official website I think, so see where you're able to get the best deal after shipping and everything.
Only 11 bux for 2 of the Glareshatters and a stylus on amazon. Pretty sweet deal.. ordering one now!
I asked someone who had used an antiglare screen protector if he recommended it and he said no because it significantly darkened the screen.
I went into B&N because my tablet was dead in the water, would not turn on at all and had to be swapped out. I asked to get an anti-glare screen protector there and he pulled one out and said they are normally $20, but because they came with a cloth inside that apparently damaged the screen or the screen protector confused that they were giving them away... Not sure if this is true or still available if so, but just thought I'd share. Made me happy!
Interesting. Wondering if that's worth a trip.
Decided I'm just going with the B&N one, since I don't really need the anti-glare.
Has anyone came across a good privacy screen protector, or something that cuts down the viewing angle quite a bit?

Screen protectors suck on the Lumia. Here's the solution.

So I've been using my Lumias for a while with a Skinomi screen protector. These are probably the best options for a screen like the one on the Lumia: the curved design makes regular plastic screen protectors (the only ones with a decent look and feel) useless on this phone, you can't even set them up properly; on the other hand, wet application screen protectors suck really bad: they have that orange peel look and feel, they give you that horrible feeling when swiping and look terrible in sunlight, Skinomi is no exception.
This got me thinking. I decided to go without a screen protector on my 400+ € piece of hardware. Am I just a mad man? Not quite (IMHO), here's why: gorilla glass can be scratched, that is for sure, but you're most likely to get only really thin scratches in the coating (given that you're careful), which can be 100% hidden with a wet application screen protector. So why would you go for one in the first place when your screen is still pristine, when you can still actually enjoy it? When you'll have the feeling that it's getting too much scratched you'll still be able to get a protector and have a fresh start.
What do you guys think? Do you still use protectors on your Lumias? Do you enjoy "freedom" instead? Please let me know. Maybe I'm just too OCD and crazy, but this phone and its amazing curved glass is giving me a lot of headaches. How do you deal with it?

You're not mad, haha! You're just like me, I have a crap one on mine, I really didn't want to put a screen protector on, usually I'm good with my phones, but strangely, on the first day that I bought the Lumia, I managed to put a faint scratch on it, and that cheesed me off. So I put a half-ass martins on. Which is ok.
I've got a skinomi, and I've yet to put it on, I haven't ever put a wet screen protector on any of my phones, now based on your review, I don't want to. So I'm stuck on whether I should bother with putting one on or just taking it off completely and allowing the thin scratches.
p.s. phone currently at Nokia care centre...
Glad to see I'm not that weird Btw what do you mean by martins, maybe Martin Fields? I saw one of those on Expansys but apparently it doesn't cover the whole screen, so it will probably peel off easily like all of the non wet ones...
i didn't use a screen protector on my lumia - actually i've never used a screen protector before (i just know i'll put it on badly).
i also found the rubber-ish case provided is terrible for keeping your phone clean. somehow dust gets underneath it and just makes the phone look horrible.

Actually I think that the original case gets way less greasy than the phone itself (assuming you have the black one), the white one is a fingerprint magnet, but it's glossy so it's very easy to wipe...I also tried a few tpu cases, but they even make things worse.
The lumia it's a fantastic phone with a fantastic Gorilla Glass and a fantastic polycarbonate unibody, why you need to put something on this phone to protect it ???

Maybe because you want it to stay beautiful for longer than a couple months
I've never used screen protector with 3 gorilla glass phones during 2 year time period and not a single scratch.
I've not bothered with a screen protector on mine due to the curves, and the screen is still pristine, although I never keep anything in my pocket with it.
Screen protectors sucks on every phone! I rather take a few scratches than using a protector that takes away all the good feelings from the touch.
In fact I already got a small small scratch. Doesn't bother me as much as a screen protector would though.
I'm using a Zagg screen protector (wet application) on mine. At least it adhered properly around the curved screen. Yes, it does feel different than the naked screen, but that is not necessarily a bad feeling. My $0.02
Well, right now I don't have one on. I have tried every brand, Skinomi, Zagg, Martin Fields and even some cheap one from eBay, but no luck: they either don't stay on at all or look crap with their orange peel effect. Wet ones are even worse: if a grain of dust gets underneath when you install them it gets stuck and you can't take it away by any mean, even washing them doesn't help. I ordered a Gadgetshieldz protector because I heard they're the best ones, but if it doesn't satisfy me I'll keep going naked, I'm sick of this crap, I just wanna enjoy the phone
Don't worry about the scratches guys. It's just the Oleophobic coating.
Anyway to hide those scratches, apply a small amount of clear car wax and wipe it off.
That coating does a great job by the way... my screen gets less finger-printy than previous phones.

Yeah it's actually doing great. When you swipe It feels like you're not even touching the phone, it seems like a gesture more than a touch input. The SGSII I had before had a pretty smooth screen when naked, but it didn't even come close. Maybe the curved glass is helping increasing that feeling too. Day after day the idea of putting on a screen protector on this baby sounds more and more like murder. I guess I'll still be using one of those zagg-like protectors when I go to the seaside tho, sand can still screw up everything. The Gadgetshieldz thing I'm getting will help me through that I guess...
I'm not using a screen protector on my Lumia 800.
When I bought my phone, I wanted to; especially because I had 2 mini scratches on the screen within 24 hours of purchase.
Although it would be nice to have one, it's a bit of a hassle so I decided not to go out of my way to get one. I just try to be careful with my phone and the only cover I am using is the one provided for the body, but I'm even thinking about removing that.

I'd like to go completely naked too, but given the form factor of the back I'd probably screw up the camera. As far as I can tell the glass on the Lumia is behaving pretty well, however you're still gonna get a few scratches in the coating in no time, regardless how careful you are. Honestly it doesn't bother me at all tho: the very tiny marks on the coating are only visible under a strong light, looking very closely at the phone which has to be sitting at a very special angle. With a screen protector I would get much bigger and annoying scratches, plus the hideous orange peel effect, which makes the screen really look and feel like garbage. I repeat, I can't murder such a beautiful design that way. I only hope that I won't get BIG scratches, those ones able to create that horrible rainbow effect. This is probably the only thing that would suck even more than a screen protector, but I'm not just careful, I'm literally obsessed with my phone, so it's highly unlikely to happen. Only rubbing sand at full force on the screen should have such consequences...fingers crossed

I got one of those but it's SMALL. Like 2mm long fairly deep as yo can easily feel it if I want to but its sitting at the edge of the screen on the right side so I never notice it in my daily use. As I said earlier. I rather take those scratches than using a protector as it would bother me more than the scratches I get. Gorilla glass is good but it's no miracle glas by any means.
I managed to drop my brand new phone on the gravel (thank God it's my work phone) and got a really, really bad scratch that really annoyed me so I decided to get a screen protector so I wouldn't make everything worse.
I first ordered a Skinomi and while the fit was pretty decent I screwed up badly when putting it on and I wasn't about to order another one from the US. So I decided to try Copter (Swedish only brand I think?)
While it is originally for the N9 with a cut out in the bottom for the sensor it was in my opinion much, much better. It is a bit smaller then the actual screen but it is so thin, 0,178 mm, that I can barely notice it unless some dust get stuck to the edges.
There is a slight drag when using it compared to no protector but you just have to lighten up your touch and you won't notice. There is no orange peel affect at all and the best thing is that the bad scratch is gone, completely!
I would prefer not having a screen protector at all but since I know I'm clumpsy and will most likely scratch my screen even more I can highly recommend Copter. (If you can get it) In my oppinion it feels and looks ton better then Skinomi. My GF has a Zagg on here phone and in my oppinion that is crap in comparisson, thicker, more drag and an orange peel effect.
Sounds good, thanks for the tip. Anyway I could only find it here http://www.teknikmagasinet.no/db.pl...&title=Copter Displayfilm Nokia N9/Lumia 800&
But actually I don't understand a word so I really don't know wether they ship to my country or not :/
@dannejeanne: ouch, sorry to hear that. How did you manage to put that scratch on it? Did you drop it? If it can scratch that way without a particular reason this kinda sucks...

Screen Protectors

i know i am in the minority being a fan of zagg, but it looks like they are gonna be making a screen protector

Cheap screen Protector in ebay
To day I found 5x screen protector in ebay just under 10 bucks.
I think it will be good and it is anti glare as well.
I want tempered glass

I let the Verizon salesman get me to buy their overpriced protectors (3 for $15...) I really don't like it. It's as wide as the screen, but long enough to cover the Verizon logo on top, and the softkeys on the bottom. It has cut outs for the camera and the light sensor.
What I don't like, is that despite the best efforts of the Verizon salesman (and he did try his hardest, there isn't a spec of dust under the cover) the edges don't stick. This is because the phone's glass curves to the edge. This leaves a tiny bit of the protector that isn't stuck down. Not only does this look bad, but it's also going to attract dust and pocket lint to get in there.
Furthermore, the screen protector also detracts from the aesthetics of the phone, it shows finger prints much more than the gorilla glass 2 does, and it adds a very slight color tint.
I think I'm going to remove it and just go without.
If you like Zagg then xtremeguard already has the DNA protectors available. Current sale means they are only 5 bucks a pop. I have used them before and was very pleased.
That is strange I got the Verizon screen protectors and don't have the issue ..however mine isn't edge to edge .. did he give you some type of aftermarket or does it have the droid stamp on it ..?

The Verizon protectors not covering the entire screen (not edge to edge, only the part that's illuminated) is a deal breaker for me. I'll just keep shopping around.
Also, I have nothing against Zagg. I've used Zagg on two devices and they held up great without any of the (noticeable) orange-peeling effect I've read about. My only big complaint with them is the outrageous price.

I am patiently waiting for sgp steinheil, and a decent sleeve.
screen protector
The ArmorSuit MilitaryShield Screen Protector is the best!
Are screen protectors even necessary? I owned my DROID X for 2 yrs without a screen protector and it looked as good as the day I bought it. That only had Gorilla Glass 1, it looks like Gorilla Glass 2 is supposed to be thinner is all, and I assume the same strength.
I am not for one going to put one on. Besides I love how silky smooth the screen is, and despise others with their sticky rough screen protectors.

Because of the curved edges the display has, I doubt there will be ones that will cover the whole thing, unless they come curved... I don't use screen protectors, but for those that do, that's most likely all you will get.
The more I use the phone, the more I'm thinking about just skipping the screen protector this time around. It seems pretty substantial on its own and the great, smooth feel is something I wouldn't want to lose (along with the clarity of the awesome screen, too).

Do any of you guys that don't have screen protectors on have any scratches yet? I know it is not supposed to scratch but that's not always the case. I currently have the Verizon one on mine.

Like I said above, I'm currently not using a protector and I have been shoving it in/pulling it out of my pockets and even dropped it on a wood floor (screen down) and no nicks or scratches...so far.

I just can't use screen protectors no matter what. Some of them have a haze foggy look to them, others feel a tad sticky, and sometimes I'll have the tiniest dust particle under the glass or just a small bubble around one of the edges. <<<---- Each, and everyone of these drive me nuts! Also the touch never feels the same, or as smooth. I don't know about most of you, but I'm very anal about my phones, and never had any glass damage, or scratches for that matter.
My final word.... GO NAKED!!!!!!

I work in construction sites a lot. And I use my flash light app a lot. I will sometimes lay my phone screen down above the ceiling. There is always metal shavings and chunks of cement up there and I do not have the smallest hint of a scratch on my screen. I have also dropped it on concrete and asphalt, still nothing.
I honestly think it is a sales gimmick.

I have a Gnex right now... went naked with that and it was a mistake. I have 2 or 3 small hairline scratches and I take pretty decent care of my phone. I dislike screen protectors but I dislike scratches even more.
i've had an old LG Xenon (text phone) i had a cheap case on it which i ended up destroying after repeated drops on concrete, I've even cracked the screen a little on the side with the case and screen protector on, but after all of that i went naked anticipating an upgrade, but i've dropped it off a 2nd story porch straight down onto concrete with screen face down and not even a scratch. I think that the screen itself will survive alot of impacts, it's the rest of the body (as well as the corner of the screen) that can't take the damage.
I'm going no screen protector, but will put a case on it once the one i want comes out. I dont believe it makes enough of a difference to counter the cons of it.
Hey people, just wanted to do my part and contribute.
Xtremeguards https://www.xtremeguard.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=droid+dna has the Droid DNA wet apply screen protector on sale for $1.50 (originally $15) with free shipping. Just enter in code "70OFF1" at checkout. I bought 3 of them. Hope this helps someone. I haven't personally had experience with xtremeguards but I've used xoskins, another wet apply option and it worked pretty well.
