[solved] Facebook login error... cant fix - HTC EVO 3D

I'm having a weird problem. When I try to login to facebook via the official app it gives me an error that it cant login at this time. And when I try to add my account to sense it says my password is incorrect (but it isnt). yet i can still login on my computer or even from the mobile site. I have already tried clearing application cache, wiping cache and dalvik, reinstalling, and reflashing but nothing works.... im downloading a different rom now to see if it helps. does anybody have any suggestions?

ive now flashed multiple roms and none are working.... any suggestions would be appreciated

You are typing your password wrong. Or restoring a bad copy of the app.

I had that happen before. I actually had to log in to Facebook from my pc, then go into my account settings and delete all of the recognized/allowed devices. I forget what section it is in, but its definitely in account settings somewhere. Maybe try that, and then try logging in again. I have no clue why it did that, but that's what I had to do.

yea i thought that might be it but i looked through all the facebook settings and i dont see it

bump ... sorry but i still cant find any solution

Try going into fb on your computer and change settings so that you receive a text when attempting to log in from a new device. Then log in on you phone with your pass. You will get a notice saying unable to log in. Within a few secs you will receive a text with a pass to use instead of your normal pass. Should work it did for me.

I checked both email and text for the option:
Login Notifications: Email and text message notifications are enabled.
And i tried to login multiple times from the facebook app and sense and i got no notifications.

I've had the same issues as well! Tried everything and still can't get through.

thanks for your suggestions everyone. I ended up fixing it by logging in with my phone number instead of my email. it then asked me to add my phone to a list of trusted devices.

FREAKIN GMAIL! stuck sending.......

Would some kind person tell me how to fix messages getting stuck in my Outbox? The problem occurs randomly, I will try to send a pic or forward an email and it gets stuck. (Sending) You can refresh, sync, reboot phone, etc.... and nothing pushes the message. This happens to me on different ROMs too...
I have checked all around and have found quite a few complaints about the issue but no reasons and no solutions........
Thanks!
Can't say I have had that issue, but to be fair I just use it to read emails and rarely send them. Maybe you could try using gmail through the browser of your choice if it is necessary.
Yes, I had this same issue and found the answer in the KaosFroyo FAQ. Go to settings, manage applications, gmail, and push the clear data button. Confirm the action. The phone will immediately begin a resync with the servers after which you should have all of your email, etc. Send operations should then work without appearing to stall.

For me, it was "Gmail Storage" app instead of "Gmail" app that needed data cleared. Might as well do both for extra measure.
I'll have to try the gmail storage app as well. I've been having this problem the last few days, and clearing the data from the gmail app did not work for me.
Others have recommended a reboot after clearing data. No idea if that helps. Just passing along the info.
Wiping does not help the situation. I think the issue is with Google and the apk itself. They have made a lot of changes to GMAIL since I originally posted this. I have not had this problem in quite some time.
Make sure you have the most current version of the GAPPS.
http://mirror.teamdouche.net/get/various/gapps-mdpi-20100926-signed.zip
I cleared out the data on both the Gmail app and the Gmail storage last night. Now my e-mails are going through, so that's good.
But my browser won't stay open for more than a few seconds. Figures.
Yeah, go into settings - appications - manage applications - Gmail - clear data and cache. Open the gmail app let it reconfiger.
Should work.
For ur browser. Do u have adobe flash installed? If so it makes thr browser do that.
Uninstall it.

But how about the email stuck sending? Clearing the data will delete it, I assume? It only shows me the first line with some dots, so no hope in copy/pasting and resending… unless there is a way to get back to editing it?
anyone know where this info is kept so I could grab it through adb?
thanks!

When you clear data for Gmail and Gmail Storage, it will delete the email that's stuck sending. So before you do that, go to your Drafts folder in the Gmail app and I think you'll be able to edit the email (and copy the text out of it).

[Q] My email accounts are hacked

Don't know why. But I has been using several accounts on my phones and computers through wifi. I have rooted my streak and tried a lot of apps in market, but unintalled a lot too.
My xda app once worked well, but now it gets force closed every time I tried to post a new topic.
Any clue? Feeling very unsafe...

How did you come to the conclusion that your email was hacked? Sounds to me like you downloaded a bunch of things and maybe some of them didn't install/uninstall properly and now you're getting FC due to instability. Reset to factory defaults to see if it solves it.
I could not log to one of my email account several days ago. I used "forgot my password" and changed my pass. Today my major gmail account couldn't be logged in again. This kind of things haven't happened for years. It must be either my phone or my computer or my wifi is hacked.
Your phone, maybe? I had the same problem with my emails, XDA app and a few other forum apps. My passwords would not work on the phone but worked fine on the computer. I had to log out of the forums with my PC before I could log on with the phone.
I was trying to back up my sms of the other unrooted phone before I found my account was hacked. I managed to change my password again and then tried to install an app called "sms backup+". The
first comment of the app is now about email account being hacked after intalling it. I uninstalled this app on my streak immediately. But I couldn't believe this is the reason. It shouldn't have been so obvious, right?

Are you running any applications such as Juice Defender or Automateit.(Something that would be disabling data in any way?
Is "Enable Always on Mobile Data" disabled under Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks?
I have the same problem. What the hell is going on? I'm sure I have not changed any settings. And everything is on. I never used Sense before this phone so.. maybe there is some different settings?
Always data is on, no juice defender or anything like that. Gmail used to show up on my OGEvo immediately, before my computer usually, now it won't show up for 10 minutes if at all when I don't refresh it manually. Not good :-/
Try going into settings/applications/manage applications and clearing cache & data for gmail. I've never had a problem with the 3vo, but with my Hero anytime I switched roms/themes I had to do that more often then not....After you clear data, don't forget to log back into your gmail account.
Thanks, I'll let you know if this worked, did a quick test and the email DID show up instantly so hopefully that was the fix.

Touchpad and outgoing email issue

I have an issue where after setting up my email acct on the Touchpad, I can receive email just fine, but everytime I write one, it goes to the outbox and will not send. I'm using Hotmail (live.com).
I just received a second hand android pad from my Mother and I have the same problem on that even though the setup for incoming and outgoing mail completes fine.
I'm stumped. Any ideas?
Thanks

Thanks for your suggestion.
Is there something I need to set up in Hotmail itself for this to work?

No need to be so rude about it, cdzo72. He's new to the Android scene, apparently, so he needs patience and guidance, not animosity.
Settings => Apps => click EMail, then choose Force Stop, then Clear Cache, then Clear Data. Reboot your tablet and try again.
The other thing I would do, and this is just from experience, is set up a GMail account and import everything from your hotmail into it, and start using it. It's an easier platform to use, and also integrates flawlessly with Android, being from the same company (Google). Then again, since I loathe hotmail, it could just be bias talking.

ve6ay,
Thanks for the kindness. First off, my question related primarily to the HP Touchpad which is still on WebOS. No wonder none of this made sense. The Android suggestion may help on my second non-HP tablet which I 've only had for a couple of days.
I did not realize everything on this site had to be android related. I thought I remembered a lot of WebOS questions here when the Touchpad first came out. My bad.
cdzo72,
Sorry I bothered you. I won't post here again. Also, sorry I'm so stupid. I'll get some help.
You also might want to go into your hotmail settings and use change the impap/pop settings. Hotmail by default uses pop, try changing it to imap and the reload your email settings again on your touchpad. Also as someone mentioned , adding your hotmaail account to your gmail account makes thing even easier.
I have no idea why it would do that from within WebOS, since I haven't used the mail client there for anything but Gmail. But I agree, log into your Hotmail, and change the settings to I map. Then go into your email app, and manually add in another account, using the I map settings that they (should) offer you in the settings. I can't say where they are or what they are, since I haven't used Hotmail since the 90s.
Best of luck, mate. Don't be scared away. It is just that some new people don't bother to search. Your question is one I haven't seen yet, so it is a good one to investigate. Than, you for bringing it up.

Haxin,
Thanks for the suggestion. I got things fixed up on both tablets.
On the Android, deleting the account, clearing the cashe and data, and re-establishing the account did the trick.
On the WebOS HP unit, I deleted the account, re-booted and manually set up the Hotmail again with settings that I had Googled. All this time I was using settings that WebOS had used during an automatic set-up. I think it turned out to be a port setting and a security setting. Everything works fine now, too.
I thought it weird that both units had the same issue which is why I had originally thought it to be a Hotmail issue, not a setup issue.
Thanks again!

Ve6ay,
Thanks for the suggestions and encouragement. Sometimes folks go from zero to grumpy in 6 seconds.
All is sorted out now, see my reply to haxin above.
I haven't changed the setting in Hotmail to I map yet, since it seems unnecessary at this point. If I have future issues, I'll try that.
Thanks again!

Email not syncing / cant delete email account

Sorry for the long post.
I have a gmail account and a hotmail account. Gmail works fine but hotmail is not syncing with the phone. I can see on the web app of hormail that I have received new email but I press the sync button on the mail app and nothing happen. I verified the password and is the correct one. I was reading that it happening to some people on the s3.
Tried to delete the account on setting/accounts and it say that some apps need the hotmail account and that I need to reset the device to factory. Tried to delete the account from the email app and it shows me "delete account failed-503 service unavailable" I have been looking through the forum and cant find an answer. Is there's a way I can delete without resetting ? im stock but rooted Thanks in advance
Figured out! deleted the stock email data from titanium backup and it deleted the account. Set it up again and seems to becworking fine!
You could also clear the data on the mail app...once cleared, go back to the email app and youll run the set up all over again

When I flash new rom, I try to avoid following....
1. dirty flashing (flashing over existing rom without wiping my own ass)
-> sometimes creates problems with functionality, but not always
2. retrieving titanium backup with yellow lettered internet bookmark, all red lettered datas, and any 'Account' data.
a)For internet bookmark, retrieve green lettered one but not the yellow one. Retrieving both yellow and green ones will combine 2 same bookmarks.
b)Do not save nor retrieve any red lettered datas.
c) Do not save or retrieve any 'Account' data which is on the list among other datas(regardless of what color it is), or it may create functionality problems such as syncing your email.

Hello,
I am having the same problem with my note2, only for my yahoo account. I am not familiar with the solution listed above as I don't know what Titanium backup is. I have not done anything to my Note since I got it, as far as changing ROM or anything. What is the best way to resolve this since I can't delete the account?
Thanks
Is there anyone that can help with this problem? I have a stock Note 2 and my yahoo account stopped updating out of nowhere. Now it also won't recognize my login info so I can't send messages either. I have installed the Yahoo app but prefer to use the stock email app for one stop to all my email.
Any suggestions welcome...

Stanz,
Yahoo mail works better for me if I set it up manually. You can let the email app find the servers and such on its own, but that's where I've had most of my problems. If you follow the prompts in a manual set up its pretty intuitive. Delete your Yahoo account and try that.
