Chainfire 3d with an s-off evo3d...does it work to play tegra 2 games?
Thanks
yes it works perfectly, just install the app, install the driver and let it reboot(the phone will appear to be frozen with a black screen and the capacitive buttons will be on, just let it sit for about 5 minutes then pull the battery) i have been playing a lot of thd games since s-off was achieved

Battery pulls make me nervous. Is it required?
So does this make all the tegra2 games show up in the market or do you have to track them down elsewhere?

Is Riptide in the market typically for tegra based phones? If so then it didn't show up for me after I installed everything and did the market fix.
I had to track it down. It does work flawlessly though after installing the desireHD shaders and the NVIDIA plugin.

Why? Aside from having to remove that goddamned battery cover who cares? Besides, I figure after removing it enough it will wear down the tabs a little and come off a tad easier.

Because He was talking about while installing a driver pulling the battery, That sounds like a recipe for a brick. I know if you do a battery pull while flashing a radio thats one of the things that can happen.
does anyone have links to the drivers that need to be installed?

Has anyone tried playing Dungeon Defenders with it?

yes it is required, if you don't pull it the phone will not turn off until you do. I have tried Galaxy on fire 2 thd, riptide, pinball thd, all of them have worked perfectly. Since these games are blocked on the 3VO market, simply go to 4shared and search for the game(ie: riptide.apk)
I couldnt get bang bang racing to work. Kept saying I didn't meet the minimum requirements. Hmm...

Im here to ask if theres any upscale benefit from the plugins... He [the developer] cannot link the plugins, but i have them...
*libGLEMU_QUALCOMM.zip
*libGLEMU_NVIDIA.zip
*libGLEMU_POWERVR.zip
these each contain a .so file...
I have installed them all, but am wondering which I should default, PowerVR, or Nvidia. As far as I know, PowerVR is something to do with Tegra2, perhaps more efficient than the Nvidia T2.so ? Idk. Someone here knows... Tell us.
here is all 3... Unzip the first file, keep the .so files in the zip, and load them in CF3D (as .zips)

Has anyone else tried Galaxy on Fire 2 THD? I tried to install the SD files via wifi and 3G but kept on receiving read errors so I installed some SD files that I found on a file hosting site that claimed to be for the THD version.
I then ran the app but it's not displaying properly. It's not black and white but it's definitely unplayable with some garbled textures and missing objects like the menu. I'm pretty sure that I installed Chainfire correctly because Riptide works flawlessly with the NVIDIA plugin.

I installed the demo from the marketplace. everything installed fine for me and I was playing as soon as the Game content downloaded. (570mbs worth)
it plays smooth for the most part with all the bells and whistles turned on. chops in some spots, moving the slider down to medium during heavy screen action fixed it though, and still looked damn good.
Tegra2 required my ass! lol

Glad you got it working! I am still having problems... I successfully downloaded the SD files off WIFI and I can't see any asteroids on the first mining mission. I'll play around with the settings a bit and see if I can improve things.
update: Okay, on occasion the asteroids do show up on rare random instances when I start the app. However each time this happens, the game runs like crap and then shuts down with an error and before I can read the problem, my phone reboots.. ARGH!

For those of you who have it working I have a question.. Is it REALLY worth the $4.99!? Ive been spoiled by .99c games. Honestly I doubt I purchase it just because of that. But if Im missing out and NEED to play this game could any body offer a brief explanation why? I have read about the game already but would like to hear from someone who is playing on an Atrix. Thanks ahead of time.

i bought it yesterday, but didn't play it for very long. it's a pretty fun game, and the controls were really intuitive. it's exactly how you would want to control a fps on a touch screen, left side of the screen for moving and right for camera.
the graphics were pretty amazing for a smartphone, i was impressed. and i didn't experience any sort of lag, which was even better (using the 1.0ghz enhanced kernel CM7)
i'd say it's worth the 5 dollars, i only got about half an hour into it so far and was already satisfied with my purchase. the animations are all voice acted so far, gameplay is fun, and controls are great for a touch screen.
I highly recommend this game. Well worth the $5. The controls are much better than the gameloft FPS's that I've played and the graphics are amazing. When you compare the price to a console game it's a no brainer purchase.
On the gameloft shooters they kinda auto aim for you (sorta like goldeneye on n64) but on this game once you press the fire button you can move your finger and move your aim, like having dual joysticks. Also the left joystick appears wherever you put your thumb (on the left half of the screen) eliminating the problem of your finger missing the joystick.
The cover system is easy to use and works well. It's nice to have that instead of just having to run around shooting. The enemy AI isn't as good as many console games but miles ahead of other mobile shooters. Enemies will move from cover to cover, one will stick back while the other tries to flank you, etc.
There are a few very minor glitches here and there, but it runs very well on the atrix.
Well worth it...just be ready to kiss your battery byebye

Definitely worth it,especially considering it'll get an update for multiplayer in the near future apparently (forgot where i read it but it was a legit source). And the game is great to play, it has great graphics and is very smooth and fast.

I'm using Aura 1.2.2.0 (just haven't made the upgrade to 1.2.2.2 yet) and had the "download is incompatible with your device" from the market, however, I was able to install via market.android.com
Also... Yesterday(?), there was an update available for the game. After installing it, the character was holding an invisible gun that shelled out little pink blocks. Apparently this was a pretty common problem. This was fixed by reinstalling the game after deleting /sdcard/Android/data/com.madfingergames.shadowgun

Sadly there is no way to make hdmi mirroring with the Atrix... Widescreen that is.
This game is great on both my Atrix and eee pad transformers. For anybody having glitches, just uninstall the game and reinstall. I had to do that on both devices afterthe update. Also for those who have an eee pad with dock, you can plug up an Xbox 360 controller and play the game like it is an Xbox 360 game, just loads faster.

Is the game worth it? It's a bit like asking if it's worth breathing. The graphics are amazing, the controls are very user-friendly and fun, the game runs without any sort of lag or problem and it's like Resident Evil 5 but for mobile phones.
This is the first game that i actually find worth buying for my Atrix.

I suck as FPS and I'm a sucker for eye candy, but I definitely think this is a 10/10. Very well polished game. Some FPS pros might get bored of it but I'm not good enough at the genre to make an informed decision lol
Definitely with $5 or whatever it was.
I'm kind of thrown off that a large portion of games, seeming to be the premium ones, aren't available on the Razr.
The phone obviously runs gingerbread and the hardware isn't that new? What's the usual time table for games and apps gaining compatibility with new android phones?

GTA 3 was updated to support the razr last week.
Apply the high setting file here on XDA and you get better fps with MUCH prettier graphics.
Sentinel 3 works great at "HD" mode.
Most of the 3D games I tried work great, was one robot shooter thingy that lagged, but I blame the coders for that.
I pretty much purchased every single 10 cent game during the sale, and all of them worked fine.
I'm a bit annoyed by this too. I was hopeing to get access to Gameloft and EA Games entire library, but instead I'm left with only a few. I didn't ditch Symbian for this lol.

I have these from EA:
Worms
NFS Shift
Sims 3
Tetris
SPY Mouse
FIFA 10
Sim City
Bejeweled
Dead Space
Plants vs Zombies
NFS Hot Pursuit
And some more.
From Gameloft I have:
Ass Creed
Tintin
Texas holdem
Cowboys and Aliens
Immortals
Uno
Waldo
Diamond Twister 2
Asphalt
Driver SF
And some small games more.
Yeah I was really looking forward to playing order and chaos on my razr. Not compatible though. That's kind of a joke.

Shadow Gun works fine but the list of games that we can't even purchase is far to big. Where are the Modern Combat games? Madden? Tiger and a bunch of other awesome games I have been told to try but aren't available.
Is this normal for Android? Does the Resound and Galaxy S2 devices face the same issue?

The Galaxy S2 series has some issues with games. HTC phones seem to play everything I've tried just fine though.
Basically the current (Blur) build has to be approved by Google. That's the response I got from the android team when I emailed them.

They're all variations of OMAP hardware, which is more or less universal, the devs pretty much only need to add a string where it says razr compatible.
Part lazy devs, part slow updates to market.

Is there anything we can do to sort of elbow our way into playing the games? On some of the Gameloft game's comments, I read of users basically spoofing their phone's model, to get the games to run. Is there any way we could do the same? I'm absolutely /dying/ to play Order & Chaos with a friend, and it's disheartening to see the devs have so little interest in bringing the game to such a popular device. I bought this phone because of it's processing power, so the fact that there are so few good games available is really depressing.
I am playing Order and Chaos on my Droid Razr with mutlisampling at 1.4ghz.
1. Find the file build.prop in /system. You will need root access and a file manager like ES File explorer to edit this file. Open the file in any text editor and change these values. ***If you are having trouble at this point google how to edit build.prop file or something...***
ro.product.board=solana
ro.product.device=cdma_solana
ro.product.model=DROID3
ro.product.name=solana_vzw
Reboot
2. Go into the android market or Gameloft's website, find your desired game and install it. ***I Found that the phone becomes very buggy at this point. My fix was to make the screen time out never, turn off data, and turn off auto rotate screen. You may not find this necessary.***
3. Once you have your game installed and working properly (make sure you have ran the game and downloaded any additional data required to play), open your build.prop file one more time and change the values back.
ro.product.board=spyder
ro.product.device=cdma_spyder
ro.product.model=DROID RAZR
ro.product.name=spyder_vzw
Reboot
Voila! Game should still work and your phone should work great.
Ummm quick question, how did you manage to OC to 1.4ghz? Any links?
Secondly, Couldnt we use some kind of market enabler instead of changing the Phone's info (name, model etc)

1.) How did you purchase the game? It won't let me...

No. Most of the games that "aren't compatible" with the Note would run fine. My Xoom runs these games flawlessly and it has the same resolution on a larger screen and isn't as powerful. The Note is plenty powerful enough and virtually all of those "incompatible" games can be made to work with relatively simple root changes and sideloading. Search around a bit and you can find info on it. N.O.V.A. 2 running on the Note is nothing new....
Good luck.

I tried changing the build.prop to show as the international version. It worked and allowed me to download the additional game data. Strangely modern combat 3 worked perfect but games such as 9mm and asphalt 6 didnt work correctly. Asphalt had a strange camera angle where you are shifted to the right so itz unusable and 9mm has a pink color on the start screen. Probably due to the different hardware. I downloaded the adittional data for Modern COmbat 3 and changed the build prop back to the att galaxy note. Atleast i got one "incompatible" game to work
This happened to me as well, emailed google 3 times but no reply yet...
I can't even find the game in the market anymore, or in my apps.
please update once anybody gets a refund or get this game to work.
It should say incompatible before you actually pay.. I tried it with one of the other games and I clicked buy it started downloading and when it tried to install aborted and said incompatible, and I wasn't charged even though I authorized purchase...

I'm getting a good deal on touchpad. I'm wondering if I should go ahead and buy it instead of asus transformer as I planned initially since touchpad also has official CM9 nightlies now ?
Is everything working now ? Are there any bugs, etc? I won't be doing the dual boot thing. I just need only 1 OS.
You cant only have one OS on the TouchPad unless its webOS. And if you can, you shouldnt because you NEED webOS on there to get into webOS recovery if anything goes wrong. That being said, CM9 is fairly stable. The only major bugs are mic and camera dont work. Most of the ROM threads have what works and what doesnt work in the first post.

And gyroscope in games doesn't work. And battery life is abismal.
At this price it's easier to get Allwinner 10" tablet with IPS screen and fully working ICS.
But I'm still happy. Dual core u cannot beat!

Remember you still have fully working webOS on there for video chat. All you have to do is reboot. webOS is only lacking apps, the user experience is actually really nice. Its quick, elegant, intuitive, and stable. I prefer webOS over CM7, but put CM9 slightly higher.
As far as CM9 stability .... I am sitting at 863 hours (yes, over a month) of up time on my TouchPad. I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw a Force Close.
I feel the battery life is great. I see about 1.5%/hour drain on idle. I can get probably 6 hours of screen on time, on average 15%/hour with screen on. Battery life is better on webOS.
The build quality and specs of the TouchPad are still high end. Its basically an iPad 2, same screen size and resolution, but with faster processor and twice the RAM. The TouchStone inductive charger is a great accessory. I haven't plugged a cable into my TouchPad since 2011.
If you want a 10" tablet you will not find a better value for your money than the TouchPad anywhere.

I'm loving CM9 on my touchpad.
With the sole exception being the flaky WiFi. It usually connects after some unknown combination of Airplane Mode on-off /fix permissions/wifi on-off. Only very occasionally does WiFI conenct when I turn on the touchpad.
And then there's the issue with the Wifi reporting connected, but no software being able to connect to the net.
