I don't know if anyone has this issue but when i receive a link or shortened link of a youtube video and click on it then choose Youtube as the app to launch, i get a totally different link. Even if i search for a youtube video, i can see the thumbnail of the result correct but when i press on it to launch the video again i get a different video.
I have Samsung Galaxy S2 with XXKH3 2.3.4 (Criskelo ROM). Youtube is redownloaded from Market so it's for sure the latest version.
Thanx

I love watching HQ/HD You Tube videos but get tons of buffering on my Galaxy tab.
Is there a way to save You Tube videos in HQ format? I figure it's a good way to show off the screen resolution...
Thanks!
You can use Tubemate app to download from YouTube.

WOW! This is like the 10th thread I've seen asking the EXACT SAME QUESTION!
Use the search button bro.
It even gives you a little hint as to which threads might have the same question in it when you put the title of your new thread in.
In around 15 seconds, I was able to go back to the main forum here, hit search, type in "save youtube" and find both of these...

Also....
Sorry, rough day :S
No prob
Thanks for the assistance.
thx a lot for help.
So I tried the App last night.
Two of the videos I downloaded wouldn't play at all (got a message saying it can not be played) and the other two (which were HQ videos - movie trailers) had so so video quality and the sound and video were not matched up to one another.
Do I need to download a video play off the app market to help these issues?
Did I do something wrong?
There are save options on the app - the two that didn't play I used the sane to Tab option and the two that did play (poorly) I used the save to mp3 format.
Sorry but I'm a total newbie at this stuff....

Hi there, i am a proud owner of an i9300, and im searching for a proper youtube downloader/converter to use. I've tested TubeMusic which is quite good ( it embeds into the official android youtube application, and whe u see a video, you press "share" icon and it adds the "Download" option. The only problem is that the files downloaded can only be played properly with the "Tube Music" player. They are still in .mp3 format and they are stored in the hidden fodler ".tubemusic" but the names are all messed up. I'd love if they could give us the setting to download wherever we want, and if it didnt mess with the mp3 names. Any ideas?
I've always used 'Tubemate' which isn't on Google play anymore but you can it from searching google.
You can specify what quality/resolution it downloads in or as an mp3. I would also be interested if anyone else has some other suggestions for YouTube downloaders.
Tubemate
Hm.. Im trying it right now, seems good but it doesnt embed in the official youtube application. Its an application on its own. Very good tho! Thanks!
If you use the proper youtube app, you can enable 'preload' (either on subscriptions or watch later).
I use Opera Mini to download YouTube vids. I navigate to the site, search for the video and when I click play or watch it automatically downloads the video in either mp4 or 3gp format depending on if I have his or low video setting enabled. Not sure if this is stock on the opera mini or if I downloaded something to enable it but it used to do the same on my Desire Z with the same app.

Google wants to leverage it's Youtube platform as a delivery network for commercial entities. That won't work if everyone can install an app to rip the video within seconds.
So they have to make it somewhat harder, since it's technically not possible to block such services/apps entirely.

By "embed" do you mean that this app is added as an intent from the Share option available on any YouTube video?
If so, TubeMate does this as well. Actually almost any app that is registered as a video filetype handler should be available from YouTube's Share menu.
When I see a nice vid whereever on the net I would like to download it to my phone, just can't figure out how.. Can someone tell me how to do this? I don't mean youtube vids.. allready have Tubemate for that.. TIA!
Have you tried "FVD - Free Video Downloader"?
No I did not.. Nice app, works smoothly! Thnx m8!
I use Freedi YouTube Downloader. It gives you the opt-in to download as mp3 or video, n then it gives you the option of what quality, for example 480p, 720p or 1080p. Of course that's dependant on which qualities the video is actually available in.

If u still have samsung apps installed open it there should be an app called tube downloader you can use that to download youtube videos.
While trying to watch a movie online the window where the video is playing keeps tearing and is impossible to watch. I am running jelly bean on 3 downloaded from samfirmware and flash player is definitely installed. I have attached a picture of what is happening because I can't really explain it that well. Is there any solution for this? Oh and YouTube runs perfectly.
I can't upload an attachment for some reason but here is a link.

Since no one is replying to my post, I decided to rewrite this again.
Problems:
Displaying "Samsung Galaxy Win GT-I8550" during boot
Most of the videos on YouTube (app) cannot be played
YouTube (app) and video players (Video Player or MX Player) is limited up to 360p
Crash when "Videos from the web" card is displaying on Chrome
Why do I care about these?
After countless times of installing custom ROM, I decided to revert back everything to default.
So, I installed I8552XXAMK1 on my phone with Odin3 and I found that my phone is displaying "Samsung Galaxy Win GT-I8550" when it is booting up.
I do know that GT-I8552 is just GT-i8550 but with dual SIM.
This problem might be the reason why my phone can't play any videos that are above 360p. (Problem 3.)
Recently, my phone cannot play most of the videos on Youtube. Even the videos that I used to watch with my phone cannot be watch now.
I uninstalled YouTube (uninstall updates) and I found that I can play the videos that I used to watch. But, after I installed latest version of YouTube, I cannot play them.
I don't want to use old version of YouTube since I really like the UI of latest version of YouTube.
So, I would love to know how to fix this problem without needing me to force myself to use old versions.
I think this problem is related to Problem 1.
My phone cannot play videos that are higher than 360p.
On YouTube, I always need to watch them in 360p, which is pretty hard to me when I am watching educational videos that involves text. Well, this is fine since I can at least watch them.
But, when I downloaded video that are above 360p (stored in phone), I cannot watch it at all. Unlike YouTube that allows me to change resolution, video players cannot.
So, I installed MX Player and needed to enable SW decoder to watch 480p and above videos.
Problem fixed? No, I want to watch videos on YouTube on 480p so it is easier for me to see things.
I really hate this one. Every time I am using Google, it always crashes when "Videos from the web" cards shows up.
Please help me fix this one because this is really disturbing me.
Please excuse my language since English is not my main language and I rarely ask for help online. You might noticed that my sentences are not really well-organised and really hard to read. I did my best to write this and I hope you reply to it.
