HTC Hero Upgrade

Hi!!
I've just upgraded from the T-Mobile G1 (UK) to the G2 (UK). I'm having difficulties adjusting to the virtual keyboard on the G2 and was wondering if anyone thinks its worth persevering with the G2 or go back to the G1.
I had only just rooted my G1 as well, a few weeks ago and must say its brilliant. The only issue, of course, is the battery life. I can't find the Seido extended life battery in the UK for the G1 (the 1500 Mah).
Just wondering what I should do really, thanks in advance!!
I went from a G1 to a G2, and I wouldn't go back. Yes, it is a little more cumbersome using a soft keyboard when compared to a real one, but if you persevere, you should be fine. There are a few things you could try - the first is calibrating the keyboard, and the second is trying another IME from the Market. I've started using Better Keyboard (a paid app) and I find it more accurate than the HTC one.
The Seidio extended battery isn't compatible with the European Hero (G2), but the Mugen Power one should be ok.

Dave

Whats the difference in battery life with that one to the original?
Also is the battery itself same size so will fit inside like the original also?
The Mugen Power battery is 1550mAh, so 200mAh up from the standard battery. All things being equal, it should equate to around 15% better battery life.
I have ordered one myself, but they are not actually shipping yet, so I can't comment on the size. However, they do say that this battery doesn't need an extended back cover - unlike their 3200mAh battery.

Dave
Thanks Foxmeister. I guess I'll just persevere with the new one. Now off to see if there's a better music player!!
Just posted this in the other thread "Home > HTC Hero: G2 Touch > Hero, G2 Touch Q&A > Extended battery with higher mAh value?
You can get a 5% discount on Mugen batteries, I just googled a coupon code.

yeah, I had some for my EVO 4G as well. Barely lasted the same length of time as the OEM battery..
..I guess that's impressive considering there only really 100mah or LESS.
Been looking on eBay, but I think I'm going to check these out for the price.
Thx..

Seidio Innocell 1900mAh Slim Extended Life Battery for HTC EVO 3D

Has anyone tried this battery yet? How much better (if at all) than the stock battery is it really? Has anyone done any tests?
You must have missed this thread on the first page...

ahh...indeed.
Almost bought this battery today at Best Buy, but decided I would continue to use the stocker and see how it works for me. I bet the actual battery capacity is closer to the OEM battery.

Evo 3D alternative battery with 3000mA?

Hey guys,
i was searching on ebay for a while and found a very nice offer:
A battery with 3000mA instead of 1800mA for the HTC Evo 3D. Sounds very good, but what is better with that?
I mean: keeps the battery last longer?
Bye, skrippi

Amaze battery tested ..fits perfectly..1730mah

No need a different back cover...fits fine. ...titan is 1600mah. Amaze 1730 ..not that much of a difference but some help
Mind posting pics? or where you got it from.
can you also tell us how much it increases your battery life?
How about this one? 1950mah, no change of cover needed.

www.batteryboss.org tested some Mugen batteries and they didn't do too well...
I bought an Amaze battery and will post back once I receive it. I am not sure how I can most accurately measure the relative performance. Any suggestions?
Just bought one (labelled for the HTC EVO 3D, but still the same battery as the Amaze). I'm not expecting a huge improvement, as I am already getting awesome battery life with the stock Titan battery, but it never hurts to have a little more.
Looking at the Seidio 1900 one too, but not sure if I'd get it since its 3rd party...
Update: Battery just arrived. It was completely dead upon first boot, so giving it a full charge before I test it out.
any update on these batteries? any problems with the phone not recognizing the charge percentage?
any noticable increase?

Using the HTC EVO 3D battery, I think I am getting about an hour more out of it, which is to be expected since its not such a huge increase in mAh.
Otherwise, I'm not having any issues with the battery in the Titan. Phone is charging fine, reading the percentages properly, no issues at all.
I said I would check back...
I got the Amaze OEM battery and it works perfect. Seems to last a little longer, but it is not material. There is no very accurate way to measure that I know of.
Someone is selling the today for $3.99.
EBAY
Why do I not see this thread in the forum?
Never mind....
i'm hoping to get one of them as well . hoping to further improve on the battery life ! .
would just like to ask how significant is the difference ?
No material difference.
I bought HTC BG86100 BATTERY FOR HTC SENSATION XE XL 4G EVO 3D G17 1730mAh
I´m having some issues with the battery questionmark. Howto get rid of it?! Also when i charge the phone the led is blinking red and green.
Do you have use this battery? Does the titan?
I'm using this battery too (from the EVO 3D). Works fine, although the Titan battery does not fit in the EVO 3D strangely.
No problems reported and the battery does last longer. I would say 1 hour too.. Takes longer to charge as well, but I guess that is obvious!

I brought one of the Evo 3D / Amaze 4G batteries from HTC on Amazon (1750mAh vs 1600mAh in the Titan). The only thing I have noticed is that the Titans original battery is 3.8vdc and the Evo battery is 3.7vdc.
Battery fits ok and everything works fine when I boot it up. I have heard that the sensation XL only charges to 90% with this battery so I will report back after a full charge.
Anyone else had different voltages on their batteries?
