Evo 3D alternative battery with 3000mA? - HTC EVO 3D

Hey guys,
i was searching on ebay for a while and found a very nice offer:
A battery with 3000mA instead of 1800mA for the HTC Evo 3D. Sounds very good, but what is better with that?
I mean: keeps the battery last longer?
Bye, skrippi

Sensation has better battery life? Maybe not.

So I have an EVO 3d and was thinking of switching to T-mobile... obviously I chose the Sensation. I immediately popped in a spare battery that I had for my Evo 3d (stock, 1730 mah, fully charged and ready to go) and I noticed over the next few days that I was getting similar battery life to my EVO 3D (by similar I mean literally a difference within minutes... both phones lasted me from 12-14 hours with the same amount of usage). One day I forgot to charge my phone, so I popped in the stock Sensation battery (1520 mah). Theoretically I should have reduced battery life... right? Wrong. My battery nearly doubled. Was the Sensation packaged with a better battery than ours, despite the fact that the EVO 3d's is bigger? Would the 3d's battery life be better and last longer with the Sensation's battery? Obviously this observation is completely crap if we don't get someone to test this. I don't have my 3d accessible for a few days (long story), so does anyone want to test this who has a Sensation's battery lying around?
If the 1730mAh battery is operating at anything under 90% then it would make sense for the Sensation's battery to last just as long, if not longer than the EVO 3D's--if the Sensation's battery was operating at over 95% that is.
I do notice that the sensation manages battery a bit better then the evo. First the screen would dim in a shorter amount of time then the evo. This is the dim before the shutoff. Next the capacitance buttons turn off when not in use unlike the evos continuous on, the buttons are also a bit dimmer when there is a light source and the vibrations are not as intense.
The wifi also seems to be managed better for some reason.
Well the sensation isn't 3D either. It takes a lot of juice to run 3D. Now if hardware and software were exact, and the sensation battery lasted longer, then perhaps you'd be onto something. But the 3D has a good amount more going on then the sensation. Did you think about that?

Both are brand new. They should be both running at 100%

They are essentially the same phone with the same internals (excluding radios). Plus, they are running the same software. All power management is the same. But what I'm thinking is that maybe the Sensation's battery is of better quality and maybe if we used a Sensation battery, our battery life will run longer. I might get my 3D back today, so I'll be able to test.

3D is ONLY on when you're watching 3d videos or taking a picture. Otherwise, 3D has no effect on battery draw. Again, I'm not saying our battery life should beat the Sensation's, I'm just pointing out that maybe our battery (physical battery in the back of the phone)isn't up to par with the Sensation's battery.

The capacitance buttons light even though maybe insignificant coupled with the more intense vibration draws a good amount of power. The buttons are used a lot when the screen is on.

yeah, I had some for my EVO 4G as well. Barely lasted the same length of time as the OEM battery..
..I guess that's impressive considering there only really 100mah or LESS.
Been looking on eBay, but I think I'm going to check these out for the price.
Thx..

[Q] Rezound Battery Compatibility

Just was curious if anyone knew if the battery for the Rezound would be compatible with other HTC's like the Thunderbolt. Been searching but no real answers. I know battery life is gonna be horrible b/c i've been using the Incredible (original) for almost 2yrs and ended up getting a battery only charger swapping batteries. Thanks in advance!
I was wondering the same thing as I would like to bring over the Thunderbolt's Mugen 4500mAh battery. Although, it's one thing if the battery fits... but another all together if the antenna connectors on the rear panel will also match up.
Did some digging and found a couple of things. VZW sku ADR6425LVW. The OEM model number for the battery is BTR6425B which is compatible with the HTC HD7 and HTC Wildfire S. Couldn't find anything regarding the Thunderbolt although the battery model numbers were similar.

I can tell you for a fact that batteries from the bolt and rezound fit perfectly in each phone however one problem the voltage for a thunderbolt battery is 3.7 and a rezound battery is 3.8 so they don't match voltage wise.
I was also very curious about this. Was going to look for some cheap non-oem batteries like I did for the og incredible - i bought 2 1400mah batteries and wall charger for $13. they lasted about 75% as long as the stock battery did-

Same thing I did. Got a spare and an old Eris battery with 2 charge cradles.
This may be a long shot but since the Rezound is based on the Sensation...I wonder if we could order OEM HTC Sensation XE batteries? The XE did receive a bump up to 1730mah but the difficult thing is they are only sold in Europe.
It would be a nice OEM upgrade if we could get our hands on them.
HERE is a link for example
Actually the rezound battery isnt 3.8, mine says 3.7 on the back.

This is incorrect. The voltage of most, if not all, mobile phones is 3.7v. The Rezound is no exception.
The Thunderbolt battery will work, but there are different part numbers. I suspect that this is due to the Thunderbolt battery being slightly longer. When I put it in vs the Rezound extended it fit far more snug. Doubt it would matter, but there is a difference.
I am using both batteries daily. I start my day with my Rezound battery and when it dies I put in my TB battery. Its only a 1400 mAH, but it'll get me through those times when I'm not near a charger. One thing the TB batter does when in the Rezound is it grays out the battery icon on the notification bar with an exclamation mark over it. Despite the warning, lower voltage or whatever, it has worked fine and I have not noticed any performance issues.

Weird mine says 3.8, Id rather not have an error I think it would bug me even if there were no other drawbacks. I wont use a big extended battery. I need a spare battery and a battery charger soon I just dont know if I should wait or grab some thunderbolt battery's, I guess when charging my phone 3 times a day becomes more annoying than an error icon I will do it.
Available from Amazon: 1900mah http://www.amazon.com/Anker-1900mAh..._1_9?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1322269654&sr=1-9

Hmm, I would try it, I've got Amazon Prime, so returns and shipping are free.
Anyone else think it would fit based on the pics?
If those pix are accurate, I'm going to guess it won't fit because that battery looks more square as opposed to the Rezounds more rectangular shape. But if you have free returns, what the heck.
I searched far and wide for batteries from other devices that could be compatable. Only other I know of is from the Tbolt. The Sensation (including XL & XE) definitely will not work as the dimensions are completely different. The Evo3d is kinda close though.
I emailed that company and they would not be developing a slim extended battery for the Rezound.

You know what battery looks like it would fit. Would be a original EVO 4G. I still have my EVO 3D right here but that battery is more square. But the EVO 4G battery looks like a good fit. Not sure what the voltage is. I may be late Tp the game with this LOL....but better late than never

That would be great if you can do that for everyone. Companies will say they won't be developing for lots of reasons but number one is no access to the particular phone for testing. This just might be their r&d down for them.

I'm pretty sure the Evo battery is the same as the OG Incredible. I'll find out Monday if they work. Largest slim battery I've seen for the TB is 1700mah

Just FYI guys...
All lithium ion batteries in use for cell phones are 3.7v nominal. (voltage under moderate load, which is about half of rated capacity of a given battery... this is where we got the 3.7v rating standard) When fully charged the battery will be at 4.2v with no load. No phone actually puts enough load on the battery for it to read 3.7v until the charge is depleted enough. In fact these batteries are safe to discharge own to 3v (the real 0% empty for lithium batteries) but the minimum operating voltage for these phones is around 3.5v (which is about the 15-20% mark of the standard discharge curve for lithium ion) So the whole "never completely discharge your phone battery because it is bad for it" is bunk. You can't completely discharge the battery and 15% is a safe discharge level for the battery.
Also the mAh rating for a lithium ion battery is usually calculated from the empty 3v mark to the full 4.2v... So unless the phone batteries are calculated from the 3.5v mark then we can't use the full amount, but bigger is always better regardless. This fact is why I am wary about the off brand batteries that claim to have 100-200 more mAh than a stock battery. Because if the stock batteries are rated by usable power (4.2v-3.5v) and the off brands rated from the unusable 3v then the 100-200mAh difference is misleading as its not really usable. That difference is easily in the 15-20% range that would be left over in a battery only discharged to 3.5v

Amaze battery tested ..fits perfectly..1730mah

No need a different back cover...fits fine. ...titan is 1600mah. Amaze 1730 ..not that much of a difference but some help
Mind posting pics? or where you got it from.
can you also tell us how much it increases your battery life?
How about this one? 1950mah, no change of cover needed.

www.batteryboss.org tested some Mugen batteries and they didn't do too well...
I bought an Amaze battery and will post back once I receive it. I am not sure how I can most accurately measure the relative performance. Any suggestions?
Just bought one (labelled for the HTC EVO 3D, but still the same battery as the Amaze). I'm not expecting a huge improvement, as I am already getting awesome battery life with the stock Titan battery, but it never hurts to have a little more.
Looking at the Seidio 1900 one too, but not sure if I'd get it since its 3rd party...
Update: Battery just arrived. It was completely dead upon first boot, so giving it a full charge before I test it out.
any update on these batteries? any problems with the phone not recognizing the charge percentage?
any noticable increase?

Using the HTC EVO 3D battery, I think I am getting about an hour more out of it, which is to be expected since its not such a huge increase in mAh.
Otherwise, I'm not having any issues with the battery in the Titan. Phone is charging fine, reading the percentages properly, no issues at all.
I said I would check back...
I got the Amaze OEM battery and it works perfect. Seems to last a little longer, but it is not material. There is no very accurate way to measure that I know of.
Someone is selling the today for $3.99.
EBAY
Why do I not see this thread in the forum?
Never mind....
i'm hoping to get one of them as well . hoping to further improve on the battery life ! .
would just like to ask how significant is the difference ?
No material difference.
I bought HTC BG86100 BATTERY FOR HTC SENSATION XE XL 4G EVO 3D G17 1730mAh
I´m having some issues with the battery questionmark. Howto get rid of it?! Also when i charge the phone the led is blinking red and green.
Do you have use this battery? Does the titan?
I'm using this battery too (from the EVO 3D). Works fine, although the Titan battery does not fit in the EVO 3D strangely.
No problems reported and the battery does last longer. I would say 1 hour too.. Takes longer to charge as well, but I guess that is obvious!
deleted
I brought one of the Evo 3D / Amaze 4G batteries from HTC on Amazon (1750mAh vs 1600mAh in the Titan). The only thing I have noticed is that the Titans original battery is 3.8vdc and the Evo battery is 3.7vdc.
Battery fits ok and everything works fine when I boot it up. I have heard that the sensation XL only charges to 90% with this battery so I will report back after a full charge.
Anyone else had different voltages on their batteries?
