I've looked through numerous threads, but the opinions are pretty mixed.
Does anyone predict issues with removing any of these apps?
I will not be using Sense.
I'm making a flashable zip to remove these so I don't need to manually do it every time I flash a new ROM.

Yeah, I know. Kind of expecting that.
But, I have used search, I have frozen them (had other errors from nightly, so hard to narrow down), but I just want to see if anyone else has had problems before I write the rest of the script.

He means that it should have been in the Q&A section, not the dev section. So now that we have that clear, if you're not using a sense rom, those things shouldn't be in there in the first place. If you are using a sense based rom, removing anything that says htc in it could cause problems.

Dammit, too many xda tabs. Can I get a mod to move it for me?
Eh, wrong section, but by now, you already know that. Try to post in the right section next time.
Anyways, you'll be fine with that list, just be advised that if you remove the lockscreens and their idlebases, you'll lose Incoming Caller ID. You'll need to unlock before answering each time.
Also, if you're going to debloat, you might as well remove Burgandy and Blue Sky, as well as the Streak Wallpaper and the Live Weather Wallpaper. Both are ultimately useless, the streak wallpaper isn't exactly dramatic, and the weather live wallpaper (2 apks) are also useless and all you have to do is look at the weather app to see them. Those two apks combined are massive in comparison to the rest.
Might as well add "MyReportAgent.apk" to the mix.
Thanks....

Good to know.....thank you much. There's a lot of stuff on that list that I was hesitant to remove not knowing if there would be hiccups later.

Nice list. Thanks for putting together and posting.
I wanted to post this where it belongs but my post count isnt up there, but anyway, I installed the latest and greatest from Scott, 4.2, I noticed when I center my clock it appears in both spots (centered and on the right) after unlocking my phone. Anyone else have this?
Thanks-Dan
Using the ICS lock screen?
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
Yeah, I was. After more playing around I switched to the HTC lockscreen (the one with my wallpaper) and now the centered clock seems to stay put, without the clock on the right showing up. Thanks for pointing me in that direction.
However, now I notice the clocks on my screen don't match. I'm using Scott's centered clock on top and I have the HTC small widget on my homescreen. Is there a way to sync them?
I've had the mis-synced clocks before from status bar and widget, normally time or a reboot fixes it. Not sure there's a way to manually sync them.

Probably the Developer page for that ROM. I tried to post a logcat but it wouldn't let me due to a low post count. Ended up emailing it to him. It's a weird rule. I mainly read and only feel the need to post when necessary.

What he said.
So I got my OTA update to ICS while on vacation, and now that I'm back to work, I've got a huge complaint about ICS...
The old alarm was perfect for me, in that the whole screen was a snooze button and I had to move a slider to dismiss. Now, the snooze button and the dismiss button are right next to each other on the screen. I'm a chronic snoozer, and don't plan to change that, but I can't be dismissing by accident. Anyone have any thoughts on how to get that original program back? I imagine I would need the apk at the very least, root, and install through adb, but I don't have the apk, and googling on the subject brings up other alarm programs...
+1
Old alarm app is perfect
I think the OP will be satisfied with Alarm Clock Extreme. Very similar to the stock GB, has a full-screen snooze, plus a ton of customization for each alarm, custom snooze settings, require answer math problems to dismiss, etc.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.alarmclock.xtreme.free&hl=en
I got the paid version via AmazonApp Store free app of the day a while back and LOVE it! Haven't used my stock alarm since I got my Maxx.
Alarm Droid. Much better.
I had checked out alarm clock extreme, but unless i set captcha or math problems, the dismiss button is still just a button I can hit. Alarm Droid doesn't appear to even come close to what I was asking for.
So, noone thinks I can get the original one back then?
have you tried using the volume button to snooze? that works too.

Has anyone figured out how to revert?
Maybe backup the app with TiBU on my X, transfer the file to my RAZR, then "restore?"
I've been hunting all over for a solution to this. Seems that a LOT of people prefer the old Blur alarm clock. Trouble is, in ICS, it sounds like they might have integrated the clock with the dock, so if you remove one, you lose the other? I don't care, though, since I don't use a dock.
I really hope somebody figures out a way to get this working. I don't even care if it doesn't become the system default. I would be appreciative of an installable APK, and if I have two clocks installed, so be it! (Unfortunately, it's beyond my skill set to come up with this.)

I am shocked at how many things are just plain worse in ICS. I feel like I downgraded to ME. I want my 98SE back! It's stupidly double stupid that I can't flash back to 2.3.6!
I like most everything else about ICS. The clock is really my only gripe.
Somebody? Anybody?
Andy
I second your feelings. I want the other alarm back!!!!!

I used this modded alarm clock on my Motorola Defy when I installed CM7 on it.
I think it's exactly the same as the Blur Alarm.
Can somebody port it to our Razr (x910)?
Thank you in advance!

Someone please take this request seriously! I am beginning to become sick of ICS. The Clock is just retarded. I've even set my alarm the night before only to wake up to no alarm going off! I've been late to work, and I missed Donuts with Dad this morning with my boy. I'll be resorting to a different clock, but I would really appreciate the original clock from Gingerbread.

I haven't tried the GB ones, but this app https://play.google.com/store/apps/...t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jaWxjdGVsLmNyb25vIl0 is very good, The functionality and the styling is cool too (matches Sony's own)..
I dismissed instead of snoozed
I got screwed this morning by the ICS alarm. I have now started to use Alarm Clock Xtreme. But I would like the Gingerbread version back, too. Is there a way to port GB apps to ICS?
Hey everyone, it's time for some custom lockscreens!
I will not be doing any requests for a device with a different screen resolution
What can be modded?
Time/date
Operator text
Pull to unlock text
Lockring & Shortcuts
Everything you see
What can be done to these?
Moved around anywhere on the screen
Shrunk/Enlarged
Show/Hide
The possibilities are endless.
*The only problems will be that if you want your shortcuts moved around, they might not drag to the lock ring correctly thus making them unusable. Also, the buttons to answer calls may be a little tricky because I cant always test that right away.* Tell me what you want, and I will tell you if they work.
These mods should work on ANY Sense 4.x ROM based on ICS, but, please upload your Idlescreen_Base.apk to ensure that this will not break anything. It saves headaches.
So just post your Idlescreen_Base.apk and tell me what you want done. I will post them all in the second post. Don't worry if I don't get to your request immediately, it will be done. Sometimes college comes first
Attached are a few examples of what I've done/can be done.

Hmm interesting....where is this base apk and could you do the text shortcuts at bottom....with the time at the top like normal with my PowerAmp widget in the middle?

Sure I uploaded a stock revert zip based off of the newest RUU in the second post.
Thanks for posting this Gumby63! I saw you guys talking about this a little while ago. Screenshots here show just how versatile and interesting this mod can be.
I attempted to see what it would take to do something more "Sense 1/2ish" with the sliding down of the bar to unlock just for fun. It looks entirely doable because, by essentially enlarging the lockring, it flows off of the screen, giving that bar-type effect.
Plus, if the ring is long enough on the left and right sides, the ring looks way more bar-like. No matter where you drag, the ring is too "ovally" to look like it's being moved from side to side.
The problems I found were expanding the invisible dragging area so that it covers the entire ring, the fact that the bar drags down, not up, and that when scaled up, of course the ring looks bad.
--
I'm excited to see what you come up with. One thing that has me curious is, could the setups be done in several APK files for ease of selection? The stocks, productivity, weather, etc. lockscreens are set up as different APKs.
Way awesome.

Hmm that's actually a really cool idea. So I'm trying to understand the problem you ran into. Do you mean that touching a certain part of the ring doesn't allow you to drag it? I think that's what you mean. I'm sure there's a property somewhere that controls this, I'll look around for it.
I know that you can make it so that you can drag the ring down to unlock, I did that for the mod in post 2.
Would you mind posting the apk?
And to answer your other question, yes I believe that is possible but I'm not sure as I've never tried.
My guess would be that you need to make any edits to the lockring/shortcuts etc in Idlescreen_base first, then make the edits to weather/productivity etc to make them fit according to the edits made in idle base.
Thanks for the input

Thanks. Yeah. I believe that I'm missing a step with the lockscreencontainer.
I've attached it. It's probably best if you turn lockscreen shortcuts off as I just quickly through that together. Also, imagine that you're pulling down the ring rather than pulling it up. I also went ahead and moved the carrier caption and date down there as well. It's static, so it doesn't work quite like it did, but I was just playing around anyways.
Thanks!

Okay so I messed around with it a bit, and here's the outcome.
You can drag down to unlock, and I hid the unlock animation so it actually functions like the Sense 1 lockscreen would have. I moved the call buttons up (but haven't tested them yet) so in theory those should work, but everything else like music/notifcations etc will still overlap.
Pretty neat idea. Looks strange, but neat!

I have to admit, for something that wasn't designed to do that, it's really very good. You're right. It's strange, but hey, It's making me feel strangely nostalgic at the moment. Thank you!
I hope to see a few more mini-guides on messing with the elements (proportions correct) a little more. Of course, I should probably read the entire M10 editing thread.

I was wondering why my notication icons are moved over to the right on my home screen I noticed my new message notication isnt to the far left like it usally is but rather a little bit more off the right I tried taking out the battery reset my apps I use nova launcher with cleanrom 3.5 but it was not doing this before it just started as of today and I rooted my phone over 2 months ago ..Can anyone explain how to fix this issue ?

No but I am using rotation locker which causes it to move even further to the right its not that it messes with the performance but it sure is irritating because it wasn't doing this a day ago also while I'm on this rant I found a new awesome music app called songza and ever since I rooted my phone to cleanrom 3.5 the app will not work its very annoying ... aside from that I can live without songza for now but my icons all out of whack makes me feel like my note 2 isn't performing properly and its very annoying
