I am quite new to this android thing so please excuse my ignorance if this is a stupid question ..
I am currently using miniCM7 Pro V7 and am having problems with the radio app, when I start it plays through the speaker and the UI is unresponsive meaning only way I can stop it is through applications > running apps and stop it here.
I have been looking around for the answer to this question and have found a post that states that in a Froyo rom the FM Radio works fine. Can I extract the APK from this froyo rom and place it in my system/app folder to replace the existing radio app meaning it'll work?
cheers for any advice. =D

Ok, I've just done some fiddling with adb in an attempt to get the default Android Phone app onto my Hero.
I backed up and removed the Phone.apk and Phone.odex from /system/app/ on my Hero and pushed the equivalent files from '2.2-update-dream-modacocustomrom-core-signed.zip' but it didnt work so I pushed my Hero's backups back over and all is fine.
Could anyone point me in the direction of a STOCK Android Rom? I'm assuming a 1.5 G1 Rom would be most compatible as people seem to have had success doing this with the default Android Calendar app.
I just cant seem to find a stock rom anywhere!
Any help would be really appreciated

Try Clean ION 1.6 just posted here

your post is in the wrong forum anyway, you should post in Q&A
And please don't stick a dream Rom on your phone, they are not cross compatible
Hi,
I like to keep Sony original ROM because I had some problems with Froyo (I tried Froyo and SROM based on Froyo). But is there a way to get the dialer software, the email software and the Android keypad for the original ROM ?
So nice would be to get these apps as a apk-file.
Or will these apps not work on original ROM ?
Regards Odiad
these apps need 2.2 :|
Another question regarding getting functions for Sony Stock-Rom (2.1.1.C.0.0.....): The Adroid 2.2/2.3 function to skip a song in a music player via long pressing the volume buttons - is it possible to get this function e.g as a app ? Because I like this function, but I would like to keep Original Rom.
Regards Odiad
Ive noticed this since I upgraded to gingerbread.. phone is now very slow..
when I play music, it plays as something is taking up all the processing power in the background and the music plays as it is buffering, loading and playing..
the games that I download run so slowly that it feels like playing modern games on Pentium 3.
when I press the home button, all programs minimize but the icons on home screen load up one by one.. they are empty boxes and appear one by one.
anyone else have any experience like this?
any help or advice would be appreciated.
I am on stock gingerbread, i do not have any mod roms installed.. My phone has been rooted.
android version - 2.3.3
baseband version 2.1.71
-old question was closed without giving any reason, maybe it was in the wrong section... so trying again
Have you tried restarting?
Perhaps you have too many applications installed on the phone's memory, you should try moving it to the SD card in Settings > Applications > Manage applications.
Hope this is of some help.
I'd suggest rooting and installing a custom rom, it'll fix all of your issues.
I'd suggest TEAM ROM because I'm using it, and it's awesome.
And yes, the last question was in the wrong section.
hi, thanks for the reply.
I am also thinking of reflashing and installing a custom rom, but what always prevented me from doing so were the limitations of it, as every rom had some problem, some did not have working wifi, some did not have working camera.. and so on..
but I was following teh MIUI Rom and that looks promising, I noticed that the xperia x10 is not yet supported: http://miuiandroid.com/roms/miui-development-roms/
but also found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1307044
will this custom MIUI Rom work? should I go through with it? (it also mentioned as wifi not working and third party app must be installed to fix it)
Thanks

I'm very happy with Oodie's ROM (MIUI): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1295089
Great battery life and very responsive. No lags, everything working. Don't be fooled if the thread seems unactive, it's because everything is working...
Unlocking BL is a one step process in FlashTool. Flashing is a "breeze"
PM me if you need assistance.
Bugsy
thanks for your offer.. i think ill send you a PM as im confused on the first step of unlocking my bootloader =/ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1254087

can i use this stock rom apps on cm7?
1. phone and contact
2. camera
3. music player
extract from andro-id and stock rom, push to cm7, not working..
Why do you want to use those stock apps ?
The same one are already present in CM7 Roms...
You don't give us enough information ...
Have a good day
sorry for starting a new thread but i have researched and tried everything i could before posting here.
i own a i777 and am located in india. recently i had a baby and my wife is at her mother's place with the baby. i use native 3g video calling daily to talk to them. the problem is, i have found only one rom (mystic glory- which is a great rom, thks to Mysticking)so far with "dialer with contacts" .i have been using this rom for last 6 months dd basis.
Now i would like to get myself some jellybeans on the phone. i had downloaded a lot of jb roms(i777, ported i777, tried hellraising i9100 roms) hoping to have native video calling....but no luck......couldnt successfully hellraise i9100 roms with the procedures mentioned in ported development forum.
i have also tried to install several respective "dialer with contacts" (respective meaning xxlsj, xwlpg, xwlpq etc) mods and .apk files using the method of puting them in system folder with solid explorer (followed exact steps descried in general forum to replace system apks) but no luck what so ever.
i cant even use dual booting, since mystic's rom is ics and there is no kernel (to the best of my knowledge) that can dual boot ics and jb together. so basically i m stuck with mystic glory (no disrespect to Mysticking or his rom which is superb for ics).
now my question is can somebody direct me in the right direction, and suggest a foolproof method to install "dialer with contatcs" on practically all roms so i can explore the treasure of roms developed by beautiful ppl of xda. i m not an expert yet, but i can follow proper directions very well. willing to learn and do basic programming if i have to.
Or even better if somebody can be so kind to develope a app like market app whick can be installed on any rom.
please help.
What is "dialer with contacts"?

I think most roms remove the video call feature because we can't use it in the US. You can try asking a rom developer to give you a cwm flashable file of the dialer with video call (if it originally had it).
