When I insert a regular sim or usim in my P7500, the small cover can't be closed. Pretty annoying when the sim slides out enough for the connection to cut, and on top of it all, the device has to be rebooted for the SIM to be accepted again. Anyone else with this problem? Don't know if it's worth to send it for repair. Maybe you won't get it back thanks to Mr Jobs?

Your sim card is not properly locked in, i had this issue until i used a coin to push it further in. After that the proper lock-in "click"-sound was heard and the sim card was secure.
Oh, so there is a locking position? Didn't dare to press any harder since I thought it would stuck for good. Thanks for the hint!

For anyone who's interested in making the SIM on their x7500 hot-swappable - like the Kaiser -and perhaps hasn't been sure whether to try it or not, the fiddly little clip that goes over the SIM card and which cannot be opened without removing the battery CAN be taken off with a little careful persuation and agitation.
It has no effect on the sim (which is held in place perfectly well by friction) and makes me wonder why HTC put it there in the first place.
I have been using my handset with this mod for about a month now, swapping sims between my normal handset and the Ameo with no problems whatsoever. The clip can easily by reattached in the event of a sale or warranty repair.
Upon hot swapping you have to deactivate and reactivate the via the Comms manager et voila!
Pictures attached.

yep i been using it like this for about 3 months now as well
it works really well...
although the sim for me was a bit hard to get out each time so i took a knife and cut a little groove in the sim card so i could get my nail into it
thanks for your point!! good idea!

Very nice tip!
Why not simply get an extra sim card though? In my case that costs 18 euro.

define what u mean by an 'extra sim card'. I have a specific number with an attached data tarif which I want to use with my n95 and also my ameo (when im not out and about) are you talking about a pay as you go sim card, a new tarif or some kind of 'spare' sim as I was not aware that I could get a clone sim card.

I think the marketing term is "Duo SIM". It's a clone of the original SIM. Some companies give one for free (IIRC Vodafone).
You can use only one at a time though (you have to switch the phone you don't use off).
i'm on t-mobile uk and they certainly don't offer this service. I'd be interested to know how i could clone my sim though, since my reasons are entirely legitimate. Does anyone know if this can be done or if it's allowed?!
there's a reason you can't just pull the simcard out; and it's because the radio *really* doesn't appreciate it and generally speaking, it shouldn't be done.
that said, there's all likelihood that it won't matter anyway.
do you feel lucky, punk?

That's strange. I'm on T-Mobile in the Netherlands and they do have this. It's sold in the T-Mobile shops or through customer service.

I would also be very interested in this in the UK, but I've never come across it.
If anyone knows any better, please let us know.
Alternatively, is it possible to 'clone' my sim? Or maybe ask for a replacement sim for my 'faulty' one, and then use both... not at the same time, obviously.

T-Mobile UK used to offer this service, back when it was One2One, but to Business Users only. The benefits were that people could have a SIM in their mobile and one in their car phone, however for two reasons it was stopped. Firstly the car handsets never really took off, and secondly and probably more obviously security reasons.
As far as I'm aware, the other UK networks are of the same standing.

Also, if you clone your card and the network detects two users, it will disable one of the sim cards. (In theory anyway - I don't know if people have created a "workaround")

Indeed, T-Mobile says you need to switch one phone off. Otherwise the first phone logged on will stay logged on. Which is unfortunate. You'd wish the phone you have with you to get the connection even if you forgot to switch the other one off.
I still have to go pick mine up, so I don't know exactly how it works. They did tell me that I will get 2 new SIMs. Not sure why, but that might be an indication that you cannot simply clone any SIM.
Duo SIM
Enquired with T-Mobile in the UK... They don't do the Duo SIM. Very annoying. I remeber that back in Holland every provider (used to) do them; car phone & mobile. My dad had one (eh... two?). Does anybody know if it's possible to clone a USIM?
I have an Ameo (Athena), an M3100 and a laptop with a UMTS card built in, so I could do with not having to swap SIMs every time... SIM is getting a bit worn...
OK, so i'm a noob when it comes to Nokia or Win7 Phones, but a mate has given me his Lumia as the screen is cracked, the phone powers on just no visuals from the screen, he asked if I could retrieve the IMEI number so he can get it sorted on insurance??
Any ideas.... software etc???

I am so ****ed right now...
My SIM card got jammed and I pulled it out and broke one of the three golden sim connectors and now it won't read any SIM cards!
What really annoys me is that it isn't like I had an alternative. I couldn't take it to a Nokia store and get a genius to sort me out as they don't exist.
Now I have to call up Nokia and get it fixed. God knows how much they will charge. It isn't a big thing to fix but it is new.
If anyone has any tips or advice I would welcome it? How much will it cost me to get this fixed? I read that the whole board would need to be replaced which is very expensive?

Last year I had a problem with my focus and I went to an ATT service center(I don't know the proper name) and got an instant replacement. I believe these places are not widespread; you'd have to look it up. Hopefully whoever looks at it will see that it was stuck. If you forced it out, that could be a problem. First talk to the place where you bought the phone. Reattaching a connector doesn't sound like an extreme problem.
Hi, I've got this same problem and they have asked me the price of a new one as they say they have to change all the circuits. Have you find a way to fix it already?
any hints on this matter?
Cheers!
Roberto.
Damn, I had this happen yesterday, After I had successfully flashed UK firmware from Polish and got the black update, Booked it in for collection and repair, Stupid nano to micro sim adapter was to blame as it got jammed in sim tray, I guess I will be charged for repair centre to fix?
I think something like this happened as well.
I think the person who had this phone inserted the sim wrong
then that might of broke or bent one the pins
I'l looking and can only see two of the three clearly.
So will take it to get checked out. Hopefully can be fixed quite easily.
Hi, i have a new HTC One X + and the simcard doesnt work. Means the Phone dont recognise that i already insert a simcard.
I google this issu and found a lot of people with same problem but i never find the solution for that
any one got a idea?
Ps.: My phone is not rootet and i have the newest software from HTC (original 4.1.1 and sense 4+)
Regard
Shai
Have you tried popping open the tray and wiggling the card and then simply sliding it back in? Whenever my phone doesn't detect a sim card I just restart it. When it still doesn't work I pop it out and in again. It's annoying, but it doesn't happen often enough to really bother me. If it is of concern, see if your local store can help you out.

i already try this 10-20 times... the support hotline say that this bug is known and they solve it with the next patch -.-
But i hope i can use my phone faster than the next htc patch.... anyone got an idea?
I thought I read somewhere that the store you got the phone from might be of some help in this regard if it is an issue with the tray. Of course, if you've been hearing that it is predominantly a software issue, then I have no advice to offer. Sorry.
If the yellowish part of your sim card has mostly faded off,it won't work, ask for a new sim card gonna cost bout 5 or 10 Rupees.

i already try 3-4 different cards. My card works on other phones so it must be somethign with the phone.
Mine did that a couple months after I bought it ... took it back to the store and they sent it away for some kind of software update. It still did it a few times after that, although it's probably been a couple of months now with no occurrences at all. Some people say to put some tape on the back of the card to make it fit tighter. So I don't know if it's software or hardware. Although when it happened, if I put the phone in airplane mode and back out again, it worked fine, so that leads me to believe it really is software.
Hello, im new here but I have seen over the years that this is the place to come to fix cell phone issues and the such. My issue is this, I have just received an ATT HTC ONE, I bought it off Ebay. The phone itself phisically is in mint condition, but the problem is whenever I put a sim card in it, it just wont read it. Im overseas, I have already bought the unlock code for the phone but I get no chance to enter it because the phone wont detect a sim no matter what I do. I have tries puting several different sim cards and no go, I even had a spare ATT sim card and no go. I have just tried the "tape fix" but the phone wont recognize my sim. Is there anything else that I can try or do? I have flashed phone software in the past (droid dna) so if thats what would take to fix this I would do it. Im overseas and returning this to ebay for a refund would not be an option for me. Any help would be greatly apreciated.
I had the same issue and it solved after they replaced the sim tray, but I bought the phone from ATT so I was under warranty.
You might try to get it repaired there, but they might charge you. Or try buying a replacement sim tray off ebay or amazon (I don't know if they sell it or not)

Sim cards can go bad as well. I would go to an AT&T store and they will replace your sim card for free.
Thanks, I did try several sim cards that I had lying around and none of them worked. I have just gotten of the phone with HTC tech support and they are sending me a replacemente sim tray, hope that fixes the problem. Will have to wait 4 looooong weeks without a phone tough...
It happened to me last night. I restarted my phone and it worked normally. Haven't happened since.

You can buy a new simtray for $2.30
They sell lots of other parts for the HTC One as well.

You might want to flash the stock RUU, might have a bad radio flash or something odd.

Oh..ok.. well I dont think new sim tray would be the solution.
I have two HTC One. And I tried putting the sim tray of working HTC ONE into this one and nothing happened.. same issue.
I have couple queries though : Was ur phone's software modified in any way when u recieved it ? I mean was the phone unlocked, rooted etc ?
If yes, did u tried flashing a RUU on it and see if it solves the issue
So I finally found the solution to my problem.. apparently its something related to sim not aligning properly in the socket.
Tape-fix didnt worked for me too and nor did the RUU. Then I tried something different.. I had my iphone 5's nano sim and put it in a plastic nano-to-micro sim adapter and put that in.. it snug in very tight and hurray, the sim got detected. Got the unlock code and its working now !!!!
With this experiment I think I also found out whats ur issue might be too. We often cut the sim using the sim-cutters which are often not perfectly sized but works with most phones. I suggest either try using my method if u can or get a retail micro-sim from a service provider and try that.. it should work.

Agreed, but it does happen. The last batch of T-Mobile Nexus 4's my company purchased, 2 out of 16 had an issue where the SIM's weren't being read due to pin misalignment issues inside the slot. We were able to replace them.

Waiting for your reply mate.. Pl do asap.
