I'm trying to use the secret codes for the SGS 2 and it just wont work.
only one of them is working regularly-*#*#4636#*#*.
non of the other seems to work on any of the stock(KG5+KG3)+custom roms(cognition, vilian, criskelo).
i installed the secret codes app for maybe be able to access the *#9900# menu.
the phone was bought in India and was imported to Israel.
anyone got an idea why is this suddenly happening??
it used to work properly in the beginning(around July)

codes can only be used with the original dialer supplied by samsung . Any 3rd party dialer will not work.
Did you install a 3rd party dialer or make any changes to the dialer.
oh yeah...also i used a theme(hyperdroid black) no all of them so i guss that is the reason. thank you.

I bought my S2 a week ago. First I fel sad for sending back my Sensation (yes, signal issues ), but then using S2, its sexy looking design performance and speed impressed me. Great Device!
But I have problem about samsung account. I've never used Samsung devices before, not needed for Samsung account. I want to sign up from my device, everytime shows me same issues - Processing failed.
I also can't add e-mail (Hotmail, Gmail)acoounts and IM (Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo) accounts to Social Hub.
BTW, I tried to sign-up/add accounts on stock ROM, yesterday updated to XXKG6 - 2.3.4, but result is still same, can't add account...
CAN ANYBODY HELP ME ABOUT IT?

You may have a uk model which means social hub services pertaining to IM do not work

Device's stock ROM had Chinese language support, probably it's Chinese model.
But if problem because of it, how can I fix it?

Market Enabler u can chose another country market and it will fix the error . it worked for me

Can you share any more details with this. I downloaded a market enabler app but couldn't seem to get anywhere. Which one did you use and which country did you run as? I am curious I just want to get my samsung act setup.

Same problem with me in the start... Though I solved it by changing the country to UK in gmail account...
Find out what country ROM you have, and then download and activate Market-enabler of the same same Country your ROM is. You should be fine after that!
Is there a way to enter secret codes in Galaxy Tab like I can do with the phone S/S2, e.g. *#1234# to get PDA/PHONE/CSC?
Or is there another way?
I don't think so. I presume you mean dialer codes which would not work here as this is not a phone and I don't think the dialer or phone apk work on honeycomb.

Just like in topic: How to change operator in Android Market. I'm using Orange but in Android Market my Ace is registered as Alltel operator. So i can't download and app dedicated for Orange like iCare. I've tried to change in Market Unlocker to 26003 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mobile_Network_Code#P) but still don't work.
In my signature is soft and addons but:
IceCream Sunday Final by Jusada / S5830XXKPB / LagFree v3 / TurboBoost v8.5
Operator: Orange PL
No have problems with my network, all works fine. Just this one. I know, can try to find some apk in google but i don't know why in Android Market my operator is AllTel?
hmm... as far as I know, market is using google account.
never know if the market is also depend on the operator.
https://market.android.com/account there in Options/ Settings i see my Ace as Alltel operator. Dunno how to change it. Looking in google account but can't find anything about that.
Iirc there was a line in build.prop which you could edit to match your operator. At least that was the way to enable paying market apps via phone contract with Vodafone or T-Mobile

or may be we should sign out first (via android device) and then sign in again....
Try "market enabler" from android market or search the internet for the .apk dump if the app is free.
I just ordered an unlocked Galaxy SII from Amazon. I want to use this as just a Wi-Fi Android device, would i be able to do this with access to all android features (marketplace apps). Or do i need a SIM card just to use the device? Thanks!
If your using it as a wifi only then no you dont need to unlock it and the market dosnt require a sim, why would you want to do this though
I know its weird, but i have the money and i want something to replace my slow Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0 and i felll in love with the S II at the store. I want to use it as a Wi-Fi only device for now because i don't use my phone very much at all and i don't want to pay for data right now.
Some apps like Whatsapp, Viber and other communication apps require simcard as ID. But you wont need any just for browsing internet, email, facebook etc. Android market doesnt require sim card too

I would not recomend to use ICS roms yet if you want stable.

Thanks for the reply. After reading i went off to research basebands and I'm confident it's a software thing, not hardware related.
There are ways to modify the baseband without root but need unlocked bootloader according to some Google searches but they are a little old and for previous versions of android.
Maybe just copy the baseband partition of the Poco F3. Same chip, nearly same specs except for the screen.
Time will tell. Ill have it tomorrow morning.
We'll just an update on the SMS.
It works flawlessly out the box. Just use the Xiaomi messages APK and works a charm. Can send and receive all the messages from the banks.
Going through the notification menu and it's got the dailer and contacts built in already but app not showing on the window. I can't toggle or change the app.
Maybe they will implement calls in am upcoming update.

Have you gotten any luck with the tablet? Does installing google dailer work? I'm looking to get the 5g one imported but not being to make calls is a set-back.
Edit : Found out it's called phone by google now.
