This video isn't mine, but this video shows my exact issues. This happens when web browsing too, it isn't smooth as butter like some say, I experience slight scroll lag in my web browsers. anyway, here is a link to show the market lag.
My question to you all: if you do this on your phone, do you lag like the EVO 3d or are you butter smooth like the nexus s?
www.youtube.com/watch?v=COelN9Ots0g
I have it too, but i didn't notice until just now. Doesn't bother me though lol.
EDIT: This only happens on my market, not my browser, just checked it.
Yep have it too I am just hoping an update fixes it, and for sure a good ol custom ROM by Myn for sure will
Meh, I deal with it.
no doubt this is crappy code... but i dont really care if the market does not scroll properly. If my web scrolls right and there is not real system lag.. then im McLovin my 3vo =)
hail to the hack .. cant wait!
Wow what a nitpicker. THE DEVICE JUST CAME OUT! Be patient. It's not a showstopping bug... just a minor annoyance. Sheesh.
Maybe i'ts just the app because appbrain scrolls extremely fast....
man some of you really need to have better things to do. Really market scroll lag, are you telling me you normally scroll that fast? Out off all the things people complain about scrolling. I mean common now, my so called nexus s does that sometimes too. No phone is perfect. I am waiting for the evo 3d to be in my hands on thursday and I am sure I would have better things to do with it.
jesus if you wanted an imediate stable mediocre os so fast you shoulda gone iphone. especially considering gingerbread is new, even newer the 3vo, so chills.
switch to a non live wallpaper. my choppiness in the apps drawer and browser went back to being butter smooth!
Who the Eff would be scrolling the market that fast anyways? I scroll slow enough so I can read! Besides, the market was the same way for me on my Evo, on any sense rom that is. AOSP roms and the market was buttery smooth. I'm sure it will be the same way with this phone. Sense always scrolls lists a little laggy. Scroll a little slower and problem solved! lol.
Clearly, icons aren't getting cached properly.
I have the lag to is it the phone or the market I'm trying to figure out
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
LOL really...
E3D
Considering I never open up the market, go to all applications and scroll back and forth as fast as possible, I'm all set.

Wow choppy app drawer and browser on Dual Core phone because of Live wall paper lol...come on now...and this is ok with you? Well I guess Qualcomms strong suit has never been in the graphics department. What a joke. I no everyone is talking about "nitpicking" but its rightfully so..HTCs flagship EVO successor...EVO 3D DUAL CORE phone...should not have a choppy app drawer because of a live wall paper lol lame.

I kinda agree but the phone is great I just want to know why the lag is there some people are saying they have no lag because this is the same thing going on in the sensation where one phone lags more then the other

I totally agree..this is unacceptable..I get that stagger in webpages sometimes also..its def..not a hardware thing..my og EVO scrolled perfectly smooth..it will get fixed its one of the downfalls of being a early adopter ..they need to work some bugs out but i still love it and see tons of potential
But the question is it only some phones with with the problem and does it have to do with the ota

This is a minor issue for me. The market is not the list I want scrolled the fastest.
so it's been a few months since the last thread regarding how the atrix is.
I currently have a Inspire 4G and I'm debating on getting the Atrix.
You own it, I want to know about it! What do you think? Should I make the switch?
The answer to your question is entirely subjective.
Was it ever bad? Debuted a super phone?
Sent from my MB860 using XDA Premium App
It was good when it was locked, now that it is unlocked it is turning into a behemoth. Just wait until you see a polished CM7 rom on this thing.
it was never bad, otherwise this forum would be desolate.
If you are willing to unlock and flash custom ROM, its a beast.
If you have to live with the stock firmware, there's probably better options out there, unless you really hate 4.3 form factor.
put it to you this way the locked bootloader was why alot of people didnt care for it but the bootloader can be unlocked now and the custom rom train is going to pick up steam, as some one else said cm7 for one thing
It's better than the Inspire that I owned.
Don't listen to what they say in the Inspire forums. The Inspire isn't the best AT&T has and the Atrix is a lot better than what people think. It's a very nice phone.
Not trying to put the Inspire down at all--I just know because I've owned both of them. The Atrix beats it and the Nexus S that I have...

Honestly, it was never bad. As a stock device that was incapable of installing kernels, it was good. I still found myself using my Captivate while the bootloader was locked. Now that there's ROMs and kernels available, I haven't touched my Cappy at all.
wow! I wasn't expecting that many responses so fast!
I want to root the phone, play ff7 (of course) and ENJOY the phone.
I put a custom rom on my inspire so I don't see why I wouldn't put a custom rom on the atrix...
Trying to get the inspire back to "out of the box" state so I can return it.
The only issue I have with the inspire is running fpse and ff7. little laggy at times. hoping the dual core will remedy the issue.
hell, it's the same price and you get more internal memory, hdmi cable, and a better CPU..

Atrix is the best phone i've used, honestly. I wouldn't trade it for anything, except maybe SGSII.
Sure, it has some bugs and issues at the moment, but those will be fixed or bypassed eventually. Atrix has a great dev community.

Yes, I get choppy lag while scrolling through the XDA app, or also on the market. It is annoying.
Figure out which app is causing it and close it. Pulse Is usually what causes mine to do that.

Just did it, I forgot about the piss yellow and doo doo brown theme lol, but yea the choppy scrolling is gone. I always thought its because of the huge animated banners.
It's funny i was about to ask about this..I've gotten slow.lag scrolling sometimes and other times not..im rooted and oc'd to 1.8 using setcpu (until I can figure out the daemon) ..I noticed whenever I lagged setcpu had my CPU running like 300mhz..even when set to performance. All I want is for my CPU to go to the speed i select when the screen is on and back down when its off ..but instead it seems to bounce around too much..I noticed when I turn up both freqs up to 1.8 my browser is butter smooth..I get about 8000 in cf bench.. I wish I can get it to stay like that without having to keep it running so high while sleeping
Well my iPhone is smoother as well but actually is not the evo only is android in general, even tho I have a 3d and a nexus s the nexus seems to kick as out the 3d lol, anyways here is something you can read that way you understand why android is laggy

Hmm...i didnt expect this from google.
Thats nowaday a crappy way of desinging a OS.
They need to make more improvements.
Makes sense.
Have you seen Windows Phone 7? It's sooooooo smooth its not even funny. I mean, it makes me smile every time I'm typing a text message and I switch it to landscape mode. In fact I switch between them because it just makes me smile.
On Android on the other hand.... its just plain bad and choppy even on a dual core device.
The accelerometer has always been one thing that I absolutely hate about Android. Its way too slow. On Windows Phone 7 its INSTANT. On Android its a wait of between 2-5 seconds. Very annoying. And when it finally changes orientation, the transition is crap. It doesn't even exist! (Although Motorola has added one in its Gingerbread builds)

Well sir, bad news for you : your gonna be waiting for awhile for ICS. At least officially.
But yes ICS should fix most of the problems. I still wonder if it will ever reach iPhone/WP7 smoothness.
Microsoft did one thing right with WP7: they made sure it ran the same no matter what hardware you were using. Including the unsupported HD2 haha.

It cost like 10K but it was awesome....I still have it in a box in my garage the provided was Bell South i think...good times

Go check it out. I haven't played with it yet, so I don't really know anything about it. But give a shout to QBKING77 for posting a video on how to flash it and giving the info about the ROM.
:O we've been had!
Whatcha mean?
Edit....
Okay, so I've been toying with this ROM for a little while. It works with the 1.2/1.3 OC Kernel so that's a plus, it's got a blue theme, which is also kinda cool. Has an ACS footprint and boot screen until you load the kernel, then that goes away. Runs pretty smooth, seems to be decent.
Pros: Good smooth ROM, Nice blue color, supports OC kernels, comes with wifi tether and spare parts+ and superuser su update fix included.
Cons: Too much sprint bloatware, ran faster benchmarks on homebase, still on 154, doesn't include numbers in battery life bar.
Just my two cents, but you guys should try it out for yourselves and see whatcha think. While the cons are small, they do matter to me, thus my choice to head back to Home Base.

yeah too bad the battery life bar doesnt have the percentage and no 4g on unlocked bootloader.
i get 12-15 mbps on 4g in philly and brooklyn ny, i would hate to lose it so until then ill play the patience game and wait it out!
Yeah, the lack of 4G kills it for some people. I'm in San Diego (No 4G) or Offshore (Where I'm lucky if I get any cell signal depending how far out I am) so it was a no brainer for me.
yeah that sucks to be paying for 4g and not have 4g service -.- it almost makes sprint not worth it compared to other companies that have 4g in your area.
Yeah. But I like their service. Unlimited data. And actually have fair coverage offshore.
Sent from my MB855 using XDA App
i do too, i didn't understand when people complained about their call quality as it is superb in the areas where i go, but maybe because they are in different areas so i cant say anything about that.
i was with tmobile before and it was very ughhh, i would be in my room and i had to shift around to get signal, then switched to verizon which was great service but the prices were sky high for so little perks. then i finally switched to sprint it was great ;D
my first smart phone was from sprint too, i believe it was the motorola q9c, then the palm treo 800w, then touch pro then touch pro2, then samsung epic and now finally the motorola photon ;D
