Since upgrading to 2.1 all I have been rocking is the Nexus live wallpaper. I have tried plenty others, but they either dont play well with orientation switching in ADW or they seriously eat up battery power. In fact, most wallpapers that I have downloaded tend to get my Streak a little warm just from sitting at the home screen for a minute or two.
So for those rocking 2.1, what live wallpapers have you found to work great?

I just use the nexus wall paper, there are a couple others i use galactic core recommended from another thread i think along with silhouette
Both really nice, and not heavy on the battery at all
Oh and flying toasters is a good one too, not sure abt the battery useage on that one tho
City at Night is amazing on the Dell Streak...
I also use the Thunderstorm live wallpaper but it seems pixelated... but not too bad
Try the Droid X ADW theme. Looks great on Streak!

This video isn't mine, but this video shows my exact issues. This happens when web browsing too, it isn't smooth as butter like some say, I experience slight scroll lag in my web browsers. anyway, here is a link to show the market lag.
My question to you all: if you do this on your phone, do you lag like the EVO 3d or are you butter smooth like the nexus s?
www.youtube.com/watch?v=COelN9Ots0g
I have it too, but i didn't notice until just now. Doesn't bother me though lol.
EDIT: This only happens on my market, not my browser, just checked it.
Yep have it too I am just hoping an update fixes it, and for sure a good ol custom ROM by Myn for sure will
Meh, I deal with it.
no doubt this is crappy code... but i dont really care if the market does not scroll properly. If my web scrolls right and there is not real system lag.. then im McLovin my 3vo =)
hail to the hack .. cant wait!
Wow what a nitpicker. THE DEVICE JUST CAME OUT! Be patient. It's not a showstopping bug... just a minor annoyance. Sheesh.
Maybe i'ts just the app because appbrain scrolls extremely fast....
man some of you really need to have better things to do. Really market scroll lag, are you telling me you normally scroll that fast? Out off all the things people complain about scrolling. I mean common now, my so called nexus s does that sometimes too. No phone is perfect. I am waiting for the evo 3d to be in my hands on thursday and I am sure I would have better things to do with it.
jesus if you wanted an imediate stable mediocre os so fast you shoulda gone iphone. especially considering gingerbread is new, even newer the 3vo, so chills.
switch to a non live wallpaper. my choppiness in the apps drawer and browser went back to being butter smooth!
Who the Eff would be scrolling the market that fast anyways? I scroll slow enough so I can read! Besides, the market was the same way for me on my Evo, on any sense rom that is. AOSP roms and the market was buttery smooth. I'm sure it will be the same way with this phone. Sense always scrolls lists a little laggy. Scroll a little slower and problem solved! lol.
Clearly, icons aren't getting cached properly.
I have the lag to is it the phone or the market I'm trying to figure out
Sent from my PG86100 using XDA App
LOL really...
E3D
Considering I never open up the market, go to all applications and scroll back and forth as fast as possible, I'm all set.

Wow choppy app drawer and browser on Dual Core phone because of Live wall paper lol...come on now...and this is ok with you? Well I guess Qualcomms strong suit has never been in the graphics department. What a joke. I no everyone is talking about "nitpicking" but its rightfully so..HTCs flagship EVO successor...EVO 3D DUAL CORE phone...should not have a choppy app drawer because of a live wall paper lol lame.

I totally agree..this is unacceptable..I get that stagger in webpages sometimes also..its def..not a hardware thing..my og EVO scrolled perfectly smooth..it will get fixed its one of the downfalls of being a early adopter ..they need to work some bugs out but i still love it and see tons of potential
But the question is it only some phones with with the problem and does it have to do with the ota

This is a minor issue for me. The market is not the list I want scrolled the fastest.
Wow, is this a fun, beautiful phone.
Curious to who I know around here. Any x2/bionic peeps around? Curious to all of your thoughts on this phone and if any of you here are cheesecaking.
I must admit, I think I like this better than the Nex. Additionally, Moto made some very nice improvements to their interface (*blur*) on a lot of different levels.
Anyways, just saying hello to all of you. Let's keep this forum alive.
Cheers.

Hey 'Wolfe. Glad to see you here. I made the jump from the x2 (wife needed a working phone & I needed a new toy) the day this came out. So far, it's been a great experience & I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Glad you're on board.

I don't use hotspots so I haven't experienced this, but I do know I don't lose apps after a reboot
So far mobile connection seems far superior, as does performance. Also, huge fan of the screen, although I do get kind of a greenish tint at times where I feel it should be white - market hang screen for example.

It is great mobile. Am coming from nexus s after i broker the glass :'(.. So o designed to take this mobile over samsung s2
I really like it except the the larg body
BUT i noticed the wifi range is weak!! And there is no video calls option
Rather than that every thing is great

I'm sorry I didn't quite understand the trade-off bit...apologies...but when I saw it once, I was looking for a faaaaar brighter screen, considering the fact that its a sAMOLED...but I found it a little dark...but was told in some forum its because of some ambient setting...will make sure to check it next time properly...
But am surely buying it for sure...in a while... Congrats on your phone BTW.

Hope to see you here soon, this really has been an impressive improvement on Motorola's part. As far as the screen goes there's an additional option to allow the os to manage auto brightness to conserve battery. Net effect: it's about 25% dimmer at times than just "normal" auto brightness.
Sent from my DROID RAZR using xda premium
I believe the dimmer look is attributed to the AMOLED screen. What I was saying as far as a "trade-off" is that I'll take a slightly dimmer screen to get a less pentile effect. This screen looks much nicer than the Bionic in my opinion...
I just "upgraded " from the nexus to the razr and I am absolutely loving it. The nexus' radio was awful. This phone is just so much more solid overall.

Got this phone a week back! Totally loving it. My old Xperia X8 was almost driving me nuts! Already rooted and safestrapped!
So how's your RAZR experience?
I have to say that I love this phone, but the browser is almost unusable because it is so laggy. I've noticed that this phone needs hardware acceleration really bad...
The home screen isn't the smoothest either.
Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?
And pinch to zoom in the browser is a joke. Its laggier than a single core phone.

Have you tried restarting your phone, freeing up some RAM, or deleting some apps that may be giving the phone lag?
Sent from my DROID RAZR
yea probably some other app trashed your phone. sometimes the only way to get the performance back is to hard reset the phone. gosh Android is starting to feel a lot like windows...
You might also have to factory reset to fix the problem. Are up to date on your firmware?
Sent from my DROID RAZR
Yeah. Even when I played with the maxx at the store it just isn't smooth. I had a gs2, then an iphone, and now this. I just think I'm so used to the iphone smoothness that I just have to get back to the Android feel of things. And no I'm not an apple fan boy, the only reason i got the iphone was because sprint didnt have 4g in my area and i just wanted to try it. Now that i finally got a good service, i had to go back to the good os.
I've noticed even scrolling in apps, that the phone isn't very smooth for a dual core. I kind of expected more.
Does anyone know if ICS and hardware acceleration will fix this? Or maybe the soak test update coming whenever it comes?
I have no such problems. All my apps open almost instantly, and I don't get any lag when I scroll. I don't know what to tell you guys. Restarting your phones, update your firmware, kill some processes, and say 3 hail Marys.

If you look at page load times the Razr will kill iOS devices every time. The scrolling jitters is due to lack of hardware acceleration in rendering- Honeycomb and newer uses OpenGL to deliver a much better experience. Yet another reason I can't wait for ICS...

I'm starting to get more and more irritated with this phone. I sent my galaxy nexus back for this one and I am starting to regret it. Every time I browse facebook and swipe up or down sometimes it lags about a split second and then it will scroll. It also does it on web pages. I also play the drag racing game and I experience some lag in that game as well. Has anybody had problems like this?

picky are we? lol
here is the thing brother..... you gotta keep this in mind, when these devices are designed/programmed(but this has mostly to do with the programming aspect) the developers try to find a healthy balance between performance and battery efficiency. every now and then you may see it sputter ever so slightly, but it is intentionally designed that way. your other option is to have your GPU in overdrive every time you even breathe on your screen and suck your battery every time you send a text.
don't be so picky. you have a 400mHz GPU with multi-point rendering capability.... it's not the hardware brother....
Sense 4.0 lags sometimes, it sucks but I don't think we can totally eliminate it. I notice it on different occasions, usually when I wake the phone up or open the app drawer.

you are basing "better" on blips in the user interface? lol come on maannn
and for the record... every nexus i have picked up was laggy as balls.... maybe that has something to do with the fact that it has the same GPU in it as the OG nexus
just sayin
i mean if it is TERRIBLY BAD then i would say it is the rom you are on, some misc tweak, maybe your 2d forced rendering isn't checked under the settings, who knows.... but i have had mine for a week now and have maybe seen it sputter like once. and i use it pretty heavily.
The EVO is better for some coming off different phones with completely different hardware. The evo 4g vs LTE is a no brainer. LTE wins. The nexus on the otherhand has similar specs as the EVO. (Dual core, ics, screen resolution?) Anyways you get the point. Get a phone based on personal preference. Not because its "the next big thing" the nexus is a great phone for some. Definetly not for me. Hence the reason why I got the LTE rather than the ole so stunning S3 or nexus..
hardware is beyond than extraordinary. Root the beast and unleash its full potential (when the proper Roms are fully functional). Or wait out official HTC updates.. my 2 cents

Maybe you're just having a buyer's remorse cause you didn't go with the GS3 and convincing yourself the Evo is not good enough.
Two top phones right now for sprint is Evo LTE and GS3, everything else falls short.
The only stuttering or lag I get is sometimes on my lockscreen. I am using the weather lockscreen and the weather will stutter it's way in instead of being fluid. I think it is just the phone coming out of sleep.

I’ve actually noticed this as well and I agree that it’s a little annoying. When scrolling in pretty much any app, my finger will move about 0.2” before the screen reacts. Once it realizes that my finger is on there, there is no problem tracking.
I downloaded Touch Test from the market and confirmed that this is not a hardware issue. In that app, the moment my finger touches the display, it begins tracking. The lock ring also moves immediately on the lock screen, so it must be something in certain apps.
I have noticed lag in the browser when scrolling when I have flash enabled. I noticed on my Galaxy S2 that when I would scroll down a web page with flash content, any flash content that is active continues to to be active while scrolling and it was VERY smooth. On the EVO LTE however, anything active flash content will become inactive. The lag I have experienced seems to be when the Evo takes a split second to "pause" any active flash before it begins scrolling. The more flash on a page, the more lag I experience. I've simply turned off my flash player. It's annoying to have to do that, but I have come to terms with it.
