samsung galaxy tab 10.1 verizon 4g lte screwed up completely - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am completely screwed. I flashed the 4g root files with the stock recovery kernal.zip and recovery.zip and now my splash verizon animation is gone and i have no backup and now my tablet doesnt connect to 4g or 3g at that so i cant even return it to verizon because they will know i screwed it up. What do i do ive banged my head against the wall for hours trying to keep flashing other roms to get it working but nothing is working

Sorry to hear that. I have been asking for weeks someone that can help with bricked and locked LTE tablet... but seems that no one in the forum is helping with that one
I can feel your pain... I have a very expensive paper weight

[Q] 1X no matter what

Any ideas? I have a Plain Jane rooted TB that has been stuck in 1X despite (in order):
- rebooting
- pulling battery
- restoring a known good saved ROM from ROM Manager
- toggling enable on RevA
- installing jcase's rooted 1.70.605 OTA and MR2 radio
- factory reset
I am in midtown Manhattan. I should have stellar 3G/4G. Is there anything left to do but return the phone to VZ?

You should check your settings and see if your mobile network is on(obvious answer and I feel like you have probably done that). Make sure you dont have any apps that are turning it off i.e. juicedefender or any other apps that control your mobile network. It could be the ROM you are using so try and use your stock ROM and see if you get 3G/4G in that. Make sure your SIM card is in properly. I do not know if that will be an issue but it could help. Also along with ROMs make sure the ROM you are using is friendly with the radio you are using. I can not think of much else. Google it too and search this forum or others that might help too! Good luck.
The simplest and most obvious possibility that still has to be asked: Do you have the back cover on the phone?

I had the same problem you did. I used Bamf 3.0 and flash the newest leak radio. My phone all of the sudden the next day dropped 3G. I went into the VZ store today and told them my sim card died and they gave me a new one. It working now, so I said unroot your phone like I did and get a new sim card. Make sure you update to their newest software before going into the store.
Seem like alot of people on the forum are saying they are not getting 3G/4G lately after the new radio that was out. I got my radio the day it was leak.

Thanks. But I had my problem before I flashed the new radio. I've been using the original plain jane root from back in March. It worked two nights ago, was stuck in 1X the next morning.
Since I now have the new OTA stock is there an easy way to get it out of root or should I just follow the sticky instructions and go all the way back to original ROM?
Instead of taking it in you could also just give them(verizon) a call. I know they can see if your phone is rooted from there and many verizon workers have theirs rooted and might be able to help you!
Yeah mine worked 2 days ago too but yesterday it died I was using bamf for a while now. I flashed the radio before that too, all of the sudden it just dropped. The guy at VZ store told me that never happened before that a sim card just die like that.

Thanks, but I spoke to VZ last night. The rep was nice and all but said the factory reset should fix the problem (it didn't) He said the next step would be to replace the phone. I might call again tonight to see if I can bump up the tech support ladder to someone more knowledgeable. Still hoping someone here could help me out.
Like I said, I had the original plain jane root that everyone did back in March when the phone came out. No reason for it to suddenly get stuck in 1X the other day.
Ive had that problem twice now. The first time my 4g antenna stopped working for whatever reason. I replaced the battery cover and it worked again for a few days. When it stopped again I called verizon and they sent me a new phone which is probably what youre gonna have to do.
So... VZ is next-day mailing me a new phone. I wanted to exchange it in the city but they said once you have the phone for more than 14 days exchanges have to be done by mail. Still, I'd love to know why the phone died.

Question about 4G Not scanning possibly broken???

I just traded my Epic 4G Touch to another XDA Member for his Photon. Keeping my word, I shipped out my Epic Touch yesterday.
Well today, I get in a 4G area, turn on 4G and it doesn't even scan. It immediately goes right back to disabled. being a little familiar with the Photon and reading the threads, I'm aware that if you unlock the bootloader, you will break 4G. I asked the previous owner numerous times if he had rooted and he said he rooted his previous Photon, in which he then got a replacement for less than a month ago and thats the one he traded me.
My question is, is there anything I can do to see if this bootloader is unlocked or not or what would make 4G not work?
I have did a factory reset, and it still doesn't scan.
I had the same issue awhile back when I traded for an Evo and the Wimax keys were erased / not backed-up....the 4G wouldn't even scan, it would just immediately disable itself again.

when booting up the phone in the top left hand corner does it say unlocked?
what i would suggest is downloading RSDlight and reflashing to stock via that way he probably did unlock the phone and reset it in properly, follow this link and get it reset via your comp and report back

Will do...I'll do it when I get off work this evening and I'll report back.
Also, it did not say "unlocked" in the upper left hand corner of the screen
Thanks for the reply
Well I'm the one he traded with and I've stated I did not try to unlock the bootloader. The 4g worked for me in Houston/Stafford Texas.. I sbf'd the original stock firmware so it should work..

one other thing you could do is turn off the phone and when holding power hold the down button it should boot the phone and show "fastboot" then keep clicking the volume down till you get to "android recovery" then select up volume.... does it boot into android recovery? or Clockwork mod? itll probably be android recovery but thats a great way to confirm
Have you updated to the latest firmware by chance (in settings)? Try rebooting and activate 4G again.

I used to attend that campus for summer classes years ago. Did they ever finish all that construction with the new renovations to it? Dude when I tested 4G in Stafford I pulled like 9mb and in pearland I've only seen 4mb on my photon.
Spribt always can solve this kind of problems

Trying to reflash my galaxy s ii

So I managed to flash my galaxy s ii the other day because I was having issues with my internet and wanted to find out if it was samsungs firmware causing the issue, or the phone, or just at&t.
Well long story short, it flashed fine, but same horrible speeds. At this point I want to take the things back to at&t and tell them to give me a new one, but obviously the second they see it rooted they wont help anymore.
So I went into the boot menu and told it to restore, that seems to work fine, but then when it tries to make calls there is no sound at all not even a dial tone, but everything else seems to work fine.
I had this issue with several other roms also. I tried finding the at&t samsung gingerbread firmware for my device, but all I can find is firmware for other countries.
Is there an U.S AT&T gingerbread firmware/roms for the galaxy s ii on here that I somehow missed? Thanks.
Also mine appears to be a GT-i19100, I saw some info about reflashing it but all of them had like letter at the end of the model and I dont see that anywhere on mine.
Actually I pulled the battery and it appears its a SGH-I777, so I guess im in the wrong thread, sorry

So I went to the link, followed the guide on the site and it didnt work. When I open up odin and hit start it does nothing. I tried using the zip file in the boot menu to install the rom and that didnt work either, just failed.
I eventually went into recovery mode and this worked, but at the boot screen I still have the yellow exclamation mark and it says I9100, is there any way to get rid of that?

In any case you'd probably be better off sticking to i777 ROMs.
Im actually more confused than I was before, I actually just switched from AT&T to tmobile. Now my phone can make calls fine, but I cant get on a data network.
Any clue why?

You still using the i777?
My guess is that your APNs are still set to AT&T.
Also, even if you do get mobile data working, you'll probably be limited to Edge speeds since the two networks use different frequencies for mobile data.

And thats something that cant be changed? I learned a long time ago to take what sales people say with a grain of salt, they were telling me since both the tmobile galaxy s 2 and the at&t version are both 4g phones it will work if flashed right.
But then again they didnt even know what data throttling is
I found a section in my phone in the mobile network settings for network operators, and tmobile is listed, once they finally port my number over in 24 hours I will give that a shot and see if it works. Other wise I will probably be buying the htc one.

Nope can't be changed on the i777. The i727 can apparently be flashed to work on T-mobile's 4g, but not the i777. It's a hardware issue.

[Q]Setting up rezound to work on tmobile?

Hey guys,
I was thinking about giving my old rezound to my nephew since his old tmobile phone got messed up. I have never tried using one carrier phone on another but is there a way to get my old rezound working on tmobile? I think as long as he gets 3g he would be happy, his last phone was 3g anyways. The rezound is on neo's tron rom and is s-off so i can flash anything required,
Thanks for the help guys!

You can't get 3G on T-Mobile with the Rezound. My friend gets 3G on his iPhone on T-Mobile but I only get Edge in the same area.

Ok thanks, I tried some of the gsm patches and none worked but guess that confirms it. Thanks!
I let him know that and guess he would still be happy, turns out his mother had data off anyways on his phone and he needed to be on wifi for data, he wont be missing out on anything and have a nice upgrade from the htc mytouch he had.

G925a stuck on at&t during boot after replacing digitizer

I was using my s6 edge on ST when I had to replace the digitizer. The phone sat for about a year when I tired replacing the digitizer. My first problem I ran into was a bad battery. After I replaced that and a warped bezel (it overheated once when I tried wireless charging it with a case with metal hidden in the back) it now hangs on the att screen. I can get into recovery and download mode, I tried factory reset and flashing back to stock with no success... when I first got the phone I rooted it right away so I'm still g925aucu1aoce and would like to keep it that way. Idk if I need to update my firmware or possibly replace the motherboard?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.. thank you!

I forgot to say it doesn't boot into safe mode and that I also tried calling at&t, they told me I should try putting in an at&t sim card in it. They think that will fix it... I think that makes no sense since these phones can boot without a sim card inserted... they mentioned maybe it needs a new motherboard then told me to try an at&t sim (which I don't have) I'm hesitant to dump more money into it.. the phone is from an old contract with a large balance due so idk..
Thanks for the help guys... replaced the motherboard and it booted right up. It's 6.0.1 now.. but I'm still happy.

My signal is pretty good, i don't know how you can make the signal stronger, you can flash the latest build and see if the signal is good for you.
