Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100LKADBT

Ok, so I've been searching online to buy myself a S II, and I came to amazon. They had it in stock for $700 CAD. They listed it as a "GT-I9100LKADBT" does anyone know what model this is or what model the phone actually is? Also is this a good one to buy, or does anyone know of a better price somewhere online that ships to Canada? (Im refusing to buy the Bell version). here is the link to the Amazon one, amazon.ca/Samsung-Galaxy-S-II-I9100/dp/B004Q3QSWQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1311354383&sr=1-1
If you simply Google it then the first result is this this post, and seconds is this, http://www.jacob-computer.de/Telefo...ck_-_16GB_(GT-I9100LKADBT)_artnr_1019424.html
Third is,
http://preisverglei.ch/preise/Telef...GALAXY_S_II_i9100_GT_I9100LKADBT_Schwarz.html
Now I don't know what language is that, German maybe?
Regards.
Alright, Im almost certain this is the German version branded by Vodafone.
Yes, DBT is german, also those links are German sites.

DBT is german but its unbranded and unlocked.
Sent from my GT-I9100
How do you know that it is unbranded?
im 100% sure that dbt is for unbranded german phone. branded ones for example EPLUS have EPL instead of DBT...its unbranded no need to be worried about that.

Thanks guys! One final question. Does it matter what version of the phone I get? I mean as long as it has english on it and isn't the UK version which doesn't have NFC, they are all the same. Right?

+1 to that.
You should have got I9100G. Return it ASAP, as I9100 are not covered by Indian Samsung care centers.

Not really. Mine does say I9100 but its actually an I9100T. Its because I flashed I9100 firmware. You can only be sure by checking under the battery.
To the OP, you've got no chance. Samsung as far as I know only honour invoices from official sellers / resellers etc. So buying off eBay or markets etc means no warranty.

Dude, by default all I9100 are known as "International version GS2" unless they are carrier locked or something. Its nothing to worry about.

Where can I find a Three UK ROM?

Stupidly I never made a backup of my official ROM, and now I'm thinking I should try and get hold of one, in case the phone ever needs to go back.
Any ideas where I can find this specific ROM? I know that when I used to have HTD phones, the ROMs used to get leaked left right & centre, and you could get hold of any service provider ROM for any country quite easily.
I found one on samsungs firmware downloads.

Thanks, my specific ROM (Three UK) doesn't seem to be on the list, gone through it a couple of times but can't see it.
Nonetheless, the link you sent is an impressive resource and I'm sure lots of people will be glad to see it:

Thanks!
Is this the one you're looking for?

Thank you all, you are all correct. I missed the H3G one from the link that brersam initally provided me since I didn't know exactly what I was looking for - most them had a popup description when I mouse-overed.
Right that's given me some peace of mind, thanks all

Need firmware for US

I have an GT-i9300 SGS3 with South Africa firmware (XFE, AP=i9300xxale9, CP=i9300xxle8 CSC=i9300ojvale9), but I'm using it in the United States, on AT&T, and am not able to receive updates thru either Kies or Update menu. I will NOT be traveling outside the US anytime soon. What should I load that would let me receive updates here in the States OTA?

Look here in the US AT&T forum for your firmware http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1705. You have to flash AT&T specific firmware to get updates.

No.
That is very bad advice.
He has the international model, as he clearly stated in the OP.
@OP: Flash anything with the CSC "BTU" its for Britain but its unbranded and gets updates first (usually)
You'll need to set up fast dormancy settings but there is a thread by ceo.mtcl all about that (he's using an international one on at&t too)

Buying the Honor 9 in China

Hello,
My dad will be in flight to China in a few days, he will be in ShenZhen where I heard there is a big mall for electronics shopping, great for buying Honor 9.
So I have a few questions, Can he buy Honor 9 that is unlocked and in English? and, What should I provide him with the details of the phone? the EU model number? (where I live)
Any tips and advices would be most welcomed,
Thanks

Better buy the EU model. Chinese model will give you problems if you're not chinese.

Hmmm yeah, I know think about ordering it from Aliexpress, the price will go up in about 40 to 50 dollars but that phone won't be sold in my country anyways because I am kinda in the EU and kinda not, we buy the same smartphone model as the EU one.
As a Chinese, I do not recommend you to buy a China model of Honor 9 since you may have some issues with Google Play services and EMUI English UI... Google Play is the biggest issue by far with China models.

Are you sure? Hong Kong is like another country, it has western products and is pretty western by itself although it is in China and is connected to China it is still like another country.
I am pretty sure the smartphones there have google play, although to be sure I want to wait for the chinese guy's answer on this matter.

I believe it is not officially sold in Hong Kong for Honor 9? Probably you will get a China model there as well...
If you go for Xiaomi, sure you can buy a good Xiaomi with working Google Play Services in Hong Kong.
That's what I thought of.

There are lot of chinese websites (or Aliexpress) where you can find the chinese version of Honor 9. Which main difference (and interest) is having 6GB of RAM.
However, regarding warranty you will still have to depend on chinese warranty
If you put the EU ROM, you may lose that warranty in case of having to use it... I'm not meaning I wouldn't do it if someone was going to China (because I would). But just think it before buying.
