I want to ask about storage memory which one after installing the ardemis radio, no i have total 58,92MB starge emory and free 9,25MB. What wrong with them ? I think that the storage memory is more in HD2 like 28MB :/

Check in bootloader. Your spl MUST be 3.03.0000 or 3.03.hspl for Artemis (or any 3.14) rom, otherwise get memory problems.

ph right,. storage memory, not program memory, my mistake. the spl thing doesnt affect storage memory.

There is a marginally difference between your values and mine.
It is most more difference becuse my summary after instalig is 50MB not 500MB, and when I install another one soft have the same siaze of storage memory, it is possible that my memory has been broke ?

Which radio version are you using?
Have you thought about installing HSPL3.03 and doing a Task29 before flashing Artemis again?
Was HSPL2.08 installed on your HD2? I can rember just after the release of ROM3.14 some users had problems to get rid of HSPL2.08.

That's what I've excpected, according to posts of other users with similar problems.
SS stands for Samsung memory chipset.
HX stands for Hynix memory chipset.
So, in next time when i want to change my os, what I have to look, for SS or HX ?

That's got nothing to do with the OS you want to install, but with the used hardware of the HD2.
There is nothing you can change or look for, except you want to buy a new HD2.

There IS something to do. As I wrote long ago: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11070430#post11070430 - it's useful to follow the proposed flashing sequence. I flash my phone sometimes tree-five times per day (Samsung chipset) and have absolutely no problems with memory amount. Bad clusters (if exist) are excluded while Task 29.

could anyone who has a Hermes with NAND blocks they've corrupted please contact me; I've modified the SPL to ignore bad NAND blocks, although I have no idea if it actually works or not, so anyone who has bad blocks and has a way of getting my SPL onto their phone please contact me.
I've an hermes from a friend with bad blocks on NAND here... device is still usable, so I can install the SPL and try.
Also I have a unusable device with Bad Block, I have bootloader 1.06 (without KITL mode).

I have bad blocks and I'm suspecting these are causing the extended rom can't installed automatically everytime I upgraded ROMs. When I unlocked and mounted, it shows nothing in this \extended_rom folder and it has only 0.6Mb capacity. Any clues?

ExtROM is separate from OS ROM... God knows how you'd manage that.

Does any of you managed to clear these Bad Blocks marks using Olipro's miracleous SPL?
I hv dared to do..now I hv 13.4 MB of staorage out of which 6 MB is free..

i have two questions about theses roms here:
1. some roms have the 3d cube from the HTC touch enabled. is this cube loaded into the program memory (ram) all the time or is it only loaded from the rom during the first usage? i don't use it and i don't know if i waste some ram or not.
btw: is it possible to create some .cab files for touchflo and this 3d cube? with that no extra touch roms would be needed and everyone could install them on his neutral windows mobile 6 rom, which flashed on this device.
2. in the past we could unlock the extended rom and use it as a normal storage memory. is there any way in windows mobile 6 to use it like that?

1. The cube is loaded one into the memory and stays there
It's possible to make cab files but that will slow donw to os
2. yes you can open the extrom and use it as storrage

I'm not shure about that but when these extra apps cab around they were all cab files before we got them coock into the roms and our phones got slowed down to their knees

Ok so first is first.. I did read the wiki and I have searched.. even posted in a rom 3.42.50 post (i think that was it) but no replies...
so in that other post I followed the instructions.... I used a 512mb micro sd and a 64mb micro sd....

This will work to flash with an official ROM and radio, I think regardless of the boot loader you have installed. But ensure that you have the correct boot loader (olipro 2.40 for this GPS ROMs) installed for when you do eventually finish with your flashing and are ready to boot into the OS.

it sounds to me like you have nueSPL installed correctly.
In the past I have had problems with formatting sd cards, the only reliable way I have found to format them so that they work for flashing roms is to use the nue format utility... it is up somewhere on nuerom.com
It will erase everything on your card, so back it up first
after the card has been formatted, copy the "TITAIMG.nbh" file to the root of the card
Put the card in your phone and reboot into bootloader mode
it should detect that there is a rom image on the card and ask you to press the power button to continue.
The flashing process takes about 1 minute to complete (so much faster than using activesync)
Once everything is done it will say something like "process complete", and then you soft reset and you are done

I do not have a data plan.... was going to get one soon but just bought a 2008 silverado z-71 crew cab.. so car payment is a bit much... so dont want to fork out the extra on a data plan.....

I am glad that you were able to get it working. I enjoy flashing different roms, but am not really a nit-picky user.
I fonally donated to no2chem today so that I can use his nueRom3-pre3, it is a pretty nice rom that gives you the option to disable your camera and get an extra 8 MB in free ram, I am also really liking the nueWifiSwitch. But like I said you have to donate to get the rom, and I have only been using it for 6 hours or so.
before that I was pretty much exclusively on a custom build of DCD 3.2.6, just a bare minimum rom, which I like because I flash quite often.
It does seem like people are liking the "Titan M2D Round 4 ROM" a lot. It looks pretty good, in fact it even includes a program that I made, Manilla 2D Customizer, which will let you tweak Manila 2D and apply some themes.

I am sure some of you are going to read this and shake your head but I need to know what is the whole purpose of updating your ROM on your phone. I currently have a US Cellular PPC 6800 and US Cellular never has anything on their site for new and cool things for their phones. I would like to update the phone to Windows 6.1 not for any particular reason just to say I did it. Is their certain features on this phone that I am missing out on because I have a stock ROM? By upgrading my ROM what features will I be able to get or do?

I see that nueSPL-2.47 is the latest version and I assume that would be the version I would use. it says "DO NOT USE with a NON GPS RADIO (2.xx). Only use with GPS RADIOS (3.xx). A version check will be added soon." How can I verify this?
What is the actual purpose of the nueSPL?
I don't mind getting my hands dirty and doing some reading but I am very new to the whole world of upgrading my phone. The fear is if I do something wrong then I have a very expensive piece of junk. I have worked on UNIX machines for the last 15 years so if this was a computer no problems but like I said earlier I know nothing about phones.

ok, this is what I believe to be true. a ROM and RUU are pretty much the same and a kitchen allows you to pick and choose which apps you want to install. What I am looking for is a way to allow me to have more features for the phone (ie. turn on GPS and upgrade to WM6.1) but yet also have some of the same programs I use all the time or be able to install the programs I use ( Office, Opera, Calendar, ) Things like that. Since you have way more knowledge on this then I do, with what I mentioned what would you suggest?

You will also need an updated radio, I recommend 3.42.40 or 3.42.50.
You have to do SPL first, then radio, then rom.

nuespl will format the card as fat 32 once we get it running

ill help you with the installation because its quite simple
once you get it unlock
rename your rom (ruu_signed.nbh) to TITAimg.nbh
copy TITAimg.nbh to storage card (using whatever activesync or card reader)
put phone in tri-color screen (in case you dont know it's power+camera+reset hold for 2 seconds)
that will install your rom.
the steps for upgrading the radio are the same:
delete previous titaimg.nbh file and replace it with your radio (titaimg.nbh) file
tricolor screen
done

You need to do this BEFORE upgrading the rom. You need Hard SPL V7.
I got problem to instal spl v7. When trying to update it after a certain next, the display gone multi color and it says that connection is no longer exist. when I check spl on my device it shows spl 2.03. I am using vista home. What to do. Sorry for bother you again.
Go to page 116,post 1160 of thread I gave you. It tells you how to install Hard SPL with the sd card.
Just remember, the sd card MUST be 2Gb or less, it has to formatted FAT32 and the spelling of hermimg.nbh is VERY important.

I still can't find the wm6.1 upgrade page. I tried HardSPL 7, it finishes in an instance, how do i check whether i have HardSPL it?

Down load the rom, extract the files
rename the ruu_sgned file to "Hermimg"
Now put a micro SD memory card in a card reader
open my computer right click the drive that represents the memory card and format it
choose the fat 32 file system.
now copy the hermimg fie to the root of the card
soft boot your phone
press the power button to comfirm the rom update and watch the progress bar
when complete
reset your phone and the new software will install
if you get a new soft ware installed do you want to reset pick no
the phone will reset when all the software is installed.
great stuff

find the one you like best
