My baseband version and oem version are different? - Streak 5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My baseband and oem are different. Can anyone tell abt how to get same

The best way to do this is to flash a stock rom from the matching stock recovery. This makes sure that all of your software is in sync (matching versions). This will be the same as doing a reset so you will have to set the phone up again.
Suggested method
If you want a different baseband/rom the same instructions apply, just use the rom you want.

first time using ODIN need some help

greetings all, my phone setup is in my signature. i am running eugene's latest Franken-TWIZ rom using baseband JI6 and JAC's 1.1 OC/UV kernel . I have set up my phone for use with odin with the proper drivers and plan on flashing back to stock in a month or so before the Froyo OTA.
my question is, can i simply run odin and flash it back to stock using this guide link posted from the bible directory?:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475
i wanna make sure if this method is safe considering my kernel and baseband have been modified using Eugene's latest rom.
I am no expert but I flashed back to stock rom from ji5 which had a different kernel and all went well.
Yes it's safe. You are essentially erasing all data on your phone and returning it to stock so it doesn't really matter what base band, kernel, or rom you are currently using. However, unless you want extra steps in the restore, if you are using voodoo, disable it before you do anything!

[Q] Baseband help

to my understanding (have been trying to flash my phone for the last couple of days and it hasn't been working) you need to put the baseband into the folder with the firmware while your flashing? im not clear on this and think it might be the reason why flashing hasn't been working can someone please clear this up.
No. Put the baseband in the firmware folder. Then open up flash tool then click flash and select the baseband

I wonder why other phones can flash basebands through recovery while we can't. I've read somewhere that flashing a radio.img (which is pretty much the baseband) through recovery will brick our phone
can anyone please upload their android keyboard.apk from mik_os as i have by mistake uninstalled it using titanium backup..

I have some ideas to make it work on all rom
we can make our baseband by combining both
the difference between old and new baseband is just amss.mbn,amsshd.mbn,partition.mbn I liked to see what's this mbn contain I tried with unyaffsmbn but I can't
also if system.mbn can flash as system.img
then this basebands can also flash as radio.img
This is just an idea and maybe it's impossible for us.

Another way??
Modify the CWM Recovery to flash in the radio partition or wherever the radio files are placed... should be pretty hard but will work out an easy way...
We need to study the way LGMDP Tool operates and flashes the baseband and try to remake that process in the recovery...
Sadly, no developer will want to waste his time on it when he can pretty much build ROMS for different basebands with much fewer codings than workin on the recovery...

Currently, which rom are u using?
and initially, were u on stock 2.2 (froyo) or 2.3 (gingerbread)...when u had ur "connection" working?
i tryed this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1529777
the previous mod was 2.3.7
it may be because of u tried to flash a rom of different baseband....if u was initially on LG stock 2.3.3 then u should use rom wich have new baseband....nd If u was on stock 2.2 then old roms should be work fine...
so i can't istall newest roms??
gimme a link of a cool room whit latest android please!
you can install official GB from LG website. In this way you will get the new baseband automatically. After that, you can root the device (there are many guides available around), install from market clockworkmod recovery and install any new ROM from this site.
Good luck!

what rom do you suggest then?
Ok, but what ROM and baseband do you have now?
Sent from my LG-P500 using xda premium
if you want to use newest rom with new baseband then just upgrade your baseband....search for how to upgrade basebande in xda...there's a beautiful guide on that and it's quite safe i have changed mine 2 times already ;-)
Go here, read everything and STOP WHINING AROUND!!!!
now i have original lg rom updated... 2.3.3
but when it start it says wind... (f**king phone company)
Maybe the Rom you flash is not suitable for your sim, there are two version of Roms like milestone and droid
Milestone is for gsm
Droid is for the other one(i can't remember the name)
Or you should try stock Rom?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA
he already said that is official GB from LG.
If that is the case, maybe you shpuldtrywoth another SIM. Looks like a SIM issue to me.

Android 2.2.x ROMs for new baseband (V20)

Is it exist? for p500
I don't want reflash radio for using old firmwares
No, there aren't, using kdz isn't very hard, it is a bit of a hassle though. There was a fix available here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=946354 I'm pretty sure it only worked for that specific rom though, and it's a gingerbread rom.
I guess you only need to install a new baseband patch. But don't know if it will work...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Use this patch.. you will get GSM.. not sure about data..
HERE
I recommended to flash 2.2.2 RADIO than KDZ.
KDZ is not safe way to flash /revert to back on old baseband. There is always risk in it to brick.
√Here is the 2.2.2 radio (Only for them who want to go on old BASEBAND) : http://petiksmode.com/2012/02/25/upgradingdowngrading-lg-optimus-one-p500-baseband/
Read instructions and do it right.
Hit THANKS IF I HELPED YOU.
