Problem with returning to WM6.5 - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I've recently had some problems with my Android, so I decided to return my phone to local distributor. In order to do this I ofc needed to reinstall Windows Mobile. And my phone is identified As Qualcomm CDMA MSM. It can't sync with activesync, despite the fact that normal service screen with 3 colors works and sows info abous HSPL (2.08) and PB81100 SS-BC.
Android still works fine with its loader, so the phone isn't bricked.
Thanks for any help
Update:
I successfully installed drivers for my phone so this strange device turned out to be Microsoft HTC sync. Now the only problem is that my phone doesn't seem to communicate with PC through ActiveSync.

Desperately need help with WM6 and active sync

Here's the deal: I need help!!!!!!
I have a HTC TYTN and upgraded it's ROM from WM5 to Custels Ultimate WM6 as he got a lot of good reviews for it. However, there's a bug in it - apparently a bug Mr. Custel was aware of. After upgrading to WM6 my Active sync does no longer work when using USB.
Here's my details:
HERM200
spl-2.10 Olipro
IPL-1.04
Windows Mobile 6 Professional
CE OS 5.2.1238 (Build 17745.0.2.3)
ROM Version: CUSTEL Ultimate
ROM Date: 05/05/07
Radio version: 1.41.00.10
Protocol version: 32.74.7020.18H
I run Active sync 4.5 on my PC.
I have checked that the setting for Active sync is correct on my computer and that the 'Enable advanced network functionality' box is unchecked in the USB-to-Pc setting on my TYTN
I have tried to manually put my TYTN into Bootload to see if it can connect via USB then - and it cannot even if it says USB on my TYTN tricolor screen.
I've deactivated firewall, checked to see if settings for Outlook is correct etc... etc...
I've even tried to put a .nbh file on my SD card and put TYTN into Bootload mode - but it never got past the tricolor screen.....
In other word: I cannot connect my TYTN to my PC and I cannot flash another ROM onto my TYTN to make it work properly with Active sync.
What can I do? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Regards,
Njål
I will try
Well I had the same problem with active sync when I installed wm6 on my cingular 8525 (hermes). Once I figured out to remove the check in the USB to PC window, I removed activesync 4.5 and restarted my pc. Then I reinstalled activesync. I then restarted my pc. I then hooked the usb cable from the cradle that my phone sits in and then placed the phone in the cradle. Everything has worked fine since then. I know for sure that check in USB to PC has to be unchecked. It will not work unless. So try that and see what happens. That is what I had to do. It would not work until I unistalled and reinstalled activesync. Hope this helps.
A little more info:
Here's a little more info when it comes to my problem.
I've read the thread regarding Mr Custel's WM6 Final ROM and after I upgraded my phone, several others has complained about the same problem as I have.
Mr Custel has written that he's aware of the problem and that he will fix it - however, I now see a new ROM upgrade from Mr Custel called Custels Ultimate WM6 ROM. The problem is that I cannot install it since I cannot get an USB connection to work.
I've tried uninstalling Active sync - restart PC - reinstall active sync - restart PC and try to connect. Several times, actually. It doesn't work
Any ideas?

Please help!!! Activesync issue with WM6 and 8525...

I have a AT&T 8525. I installed 2.10 Olipro and then flashed with the latest AT&T WM6 upgrade from this site. It was labelled as the "official" upgrade.
The upgrade went well and everything seems ok (though it feels a bit more sluggish and I thought it would noticiabley increase speed of apps etc.)...anyway my Activesync is simply not working with this phone anymore. It doesn't recognize it when I plug in with the cable. This makes it hard for me to re-install a different ROM or any other app.
Bluetooth can see the phone, but, again, it doesn't seem to want to make an Activesync connection....please help...thanks in advance.
try deleting existing relationships. and create a new one. most likely because of your current upgrade, your DEVICE ID has been changed.
I actually have no relationships in Activesync right now.
I'm loading a fresh copy of Activesyn on my wife's computer to see if I can get a relationship established on a new install.
Any other ideas...I'm all ears!
you should be creating one.. its most likely because your DEVICE ID has been changed. have you checked it?
I have the same problem
The problem apears when I connect the device to the computer "USB Device Not Recognized".
Tested in another computer with same results...
It seems to be some driver issue, but I have no clue where to start...
I have a HERM200 (TyTN) unlocked and activesyn was working when the device OS was WM5. fter the upgrade, does not recognize anymore...
It's working now
After the OS upgrade, needs to turn off (for real) and turn on again. It works sweet.
Need to remember: MS Windows DEvices needs MS Solutions - Reboot !

Sync Error, Unknown device - Cingular 3125

I just got a Cingular 3125 off ebay and the phone works fine, I just got a data cable for it and attempted to sync it with my laptop, running Windows Vista Ultimate. It is being installed as an unknown device and neither WMDC nor Activesync is recognizing the phone. I've tried updating the driver, deleting and reinstalling the driver, resetting the phone, nothing has worked. My phone is a Cingular 3125 of the HTC Star Trek running ROM version 2.4.502.0. My OS is WIndows Vista Ultimate. has anyone had this problem or have a possible solution?? Thanks
Hi,
I'm facing the same issue. I guess, its a hardware related problem.
When I connect my SmartFlip, it shows charging icon at top, but in case of ActiveSync or WMDC - it says Not Connected. Even Windows detects it as Unknown device.
When I asked to service center, they said, its an issue with Hardware, but confused.

[Q] Is there a way to active sync from bootloader on hd2? or am i screwed!!!

my hd2 gets stuck at the stick together screen and i can only go to the bootload screen. I flashed spl 3.03. hspl... anyway when i connect to the pc i get the usb in the white but it dosent auto sync!!!! it all happened when while trying to flash magdlr
is there any anything i can do????!!!
First of all, congratulations to your first post.
ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center require a functional OS on your HD2, bootloader is none.
If you want to sync your contacts and so on, I'm afraid you can't.
You can try to install a STOCK ROM with SD card method and start again, but you will loose all your data.
