I realize that Jellete has already realized a Ragnarok rom that is based off of the Galaxy s JPY rom which is based off of Android 2.2.1, but has there been any more progress on i9000 ports, especially as there are more roms and mods for the i9000? Froyo 2.2 with Steve's custom kernel on Galaxy player 4.0

I originally had Froyo 2.2 on my Samsung Galaxy S wifi 4.0 then I flashed it with Steve's custom kernel using Odin. However after flashing the device it went on a boot loop so to fix it I had to flash with GingerBread 2.3 ROM that Steve had provided. However I would like to go back to Froyo 2.2. Is it possible to use Steve's custom kernel with Froyo 2.2?
Please advise
