Kindle to Google Books? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Themes and Apps

Is there a way to get kindle books to read on google books?

You can't read the Kindle books in the Google Reader (unless you break the DRM) but if you own the books, there is a free Kindle Reader app for Android that will allow you to download and read your Kindle library.

Ah.. I have that but I don't like the way the Kindle app looks

[Q] ebook reader?

Hello, I'm searching for an app, who will put my PDF books like they are real ebooks.
Basically i'm looking for kindle like app but for my own collection ebooks not the books from some store. I know there is PDF reader but it just isn't the same feeling .
atm theres nothing to turn your pdf's into an ebook equivalent, why you have to do is install calibre onto you computer, then use that to convert the .pdf file into a .epub file, after that then you can install aldiko onto your device, and open the epubs and book, just like a book reader
hope this helps
i'm using amazon kindle read prc file
try ezPDF reader its really good and has what you need

I like EBookDroid very much. Mainly because I can invert colors with it.

[How to?] Convert ePubs into something that Google Books can read?

How would one convert ePubs into something that Google Books can read?
I know that gBooks stores its books in Data/Data/com.google.android.apps.books/, and I have a collection of ePubs at the moment, but i really like Google Books reader on my SG Tab 10.1 and I really dont want to repurchase all my books again via Google Books market.
So is there any method out their at the moment?
PS: Using Kobo at the moment, best on my SGSII, but i prefer the two page layout that gBooks has.
Calibre can convert epubs into plenty of different ebook formarts

If your tablet is rooted, just transfer your epubs off your computer into My Files > Books (I think?) On the Nook's internal memory. Then all you have to do is boot into your stock Book profile (or ereader app) and get to reading. Hope that helps

You don't have to be rooted to do this.

I still use the B&N apps since I have books under their service. Although not all the apps work after I have rooted and done my mods, I can still access them using the Books app, or just looking through the Library, both of which are in your apps list on whatever launcher you're using.
Don't try and use the Nook app from the Google Market.
You can purchase ebooks through B&N and they will automatically show up in your Library or you can plug your NT into your computer and simple click n drag into your "My Files/Books" folder and they will show up automatically in your Library.
If your having troubles displaying cover art for sideloaded ebooks then follow these directions. http://bookclubs.barnesandnoble.com/t5/NOOK-Color-General-Discussion/Can-I-add-cover-art-to-sideloaded-books-now-that-the-Nook-Color/td-p/1037834
What is the process, then, for getting all books into the same spot? Is there a way to have Kindle books, BN books, and sideloaded books all on the same shelf?

Kindle uses a different format, and even their reader reads mobi and not epub.
Unfortunately, if you have different formats, then I don't think there is really a way to have it in one app unless all your books are sideloaded and in a single format. I'm not sure if Google Books handles all the 3rd party formats.
NT's reader app natively supports only these file formats...
•Load EPUB (including Adobe DRM or DRM free) or PDF file types from your computer or microSD card
•Other documents: XLS, DOC, PPT, TXT, DOCM, XLSM, PPTM, PPSX, PPSM, DOCX, XLX, PPTX
Amazon uses a proprietary format called .mobi These will need to be converted to a different format to be viewed and recognized on NT. (I believe if your using the Kindle App on your NT you can view them though.)
I use this program. http://calibre-ebook.com/
It easily converts any format to ebub format or any other disered format. It also has a "Send to Device" tab that will transfer to the correct folder in NT when connected to your computer.
Got it. Thanks!

zinio or what else to have books and pdf docs in the samereader library

I'm trying to find a reader able to manage magazines (like Zinio), e-books and pdf docs stored on the Sony tablet s sd card ("sdcar" and also "sdcard2". Is this really impossible? Until now, no solution... I bought various magazines using zinio but I'd like to have a library with al kinds of docs/magazines... in the same app...

eBook reader app

I have a very large reading library (18k) of publications most in epub format that I converted using calibre. I've tried Mantano, Aldiko, cool reader, and moon reader. I store my books on dropbox.
Moon reader crashes when trying to access such a large library. Aldiko tries to move all of my books to my unit. I've not messed around with Cool reader or Moon reader much yet.
What I'm looking for is a reader that I can use to do a search of the meta data without loading all of my books onto my note. I'm open to work around too.
I also use Calibre and have a large collection. I was playing around with Giogle Play Books. From my PC I was able to upload some of my ebooks (mind you, I was only playing around and didn't upload them all). Once uploaded, they showed up on my phone and tablet.

You can upload your calibre library on say Dropbox and then access it with moon reader or fbreader.
Can you search the metatarsal of the books stored on dropbox?
Nope, v2.6.4 MoonReader and I can only search the titles
You'll be amazed by SideBooks
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.tokyo_ip.SideBooks
Moon Reader + Calibre Server.
Can browse or search by; Newest, Title, Author, Language, Publisher, Rating, Series and Tags.
Does everything I need and no problems accessing a very large collection.

Did you try ezpdf?
Google Books ?
I don't have a huge collection like you but I upload all my .EPUBs and .PDFs to Google Books and they sync to all my devices fine.
Given the better integration that's finally taken place between Drive/Books, I think it would be compelling to make a copy of your library in Google Drive and use Play Books as your reader. That's what I do, but I haven't done extensive searching yet. What I will say is that it's pretty seamless to load anything from my library, from PC or Drive mobile, it looks absolutely beautiful, Drive and Google Play books are searchable from Google Now, which means you have access to any notation/quote Google does. Drive has come so far and integrates with reading now so well I ended up leaving Dropbox, it just makes more sense for an Android user.
i loved using drive, and even kindle, as an ebook reader. the only thing i didn't like is the lack of customization. if i can't have a black background with red text then i can't use the reader. i read mostly at night and don't like the harsh lights (i keep my brightness less than zero with lux).
my main reader has been moon but i use calibre companion also.
