Hi guys, actually I've noticed this quite a while but I just remembered to post now.
My Razr touch screen sometime behaves erratically during charging; miss-touch, or register touch but in wrong area, auto-touch (not touched but acted as if touched), etc. This behaviour happen most when I use my samsung and htc charger, or my car charger. But with the original shipped one it also happens albeit not so often.
Has anyone of you noticed this too...?
Same here, it is not serious though.
I have that problem too!
yep, same here.
I did not have this problem on my original RAZR but it happens on my replacement one.

Yep, on replamcements you will get this effect. Check Amperage and Voltage on both.
I only get it with non-stock chargers.

Been this way since the OG DROID. Why are you all using other chargers on your phones?
Actually other chargers damaged the OG DROID to the point where it was permanent using certain ebay chargers, flaky screen like reported here, or even where the screen would not be responsive, even after off the ebay charger.

Well, mr syntrix there are few points to address here:
1. AFAIK there are on going effort to standardize wall chargers so they can be interoperable. At least in EU if i'm not mistaken. As consumer, we gotta love this movemement. Shall we not?
2. By other charger we mean not cheap chinese imports but original chargers from HTC and Samsung ones.
3. Shame for Moto if its charger not interoperable since i used HTC and Samsung charger on other phones and it work just fine. Even razr's charger also worked like a charm on other phones. So why not the other way around?
Please moto unlock our boot, err.. i mean, chargers! LOL

Have the problem on both my Maxx and my Thunderbolt. Just figured it was a Android thing...
Can the lapdock use the charger that came with the atrix phone or dose it need a completely different charger? Im talking about the wall charger.
It definitely uses a different charger. It's a 19V AC adapter. Motorola SPN5639A
why is a tethering plan required for the lap dock?
(Note: The Motorola Lapdock requires the separately available Motorola ATRIX 4G, and an AT&T 4 GB DataPro with Tethering plan is required to use the Lapdock with your ATRIX 4G.)
all4cellular.com has lapdocks and refurbished one for sale $100 for refurb i bought one and its awsome no problems with it at all mint condition they also sell chargers

Because AT&T wants to milk youvdry. There are tricks here to get around the tethering but it is also no issue if you use WIFI. Tethering is just if you want to use the lapdock over 4G

Can someone please give me the specs of the lapdock (for original atrix) charger, 19v and how many amps is it ? Also how does the plug look like, is it a Motorola proprietary plug?
Thanks for any info.

been searching for an answer for this for a while and I haven't been able to come up with anything
anyone have a firm answer? Will another adapter witht he same power rating work fine?
Anything with the same power rating will work fine. Just make absolutely POSITIVE that the polarity is the same on the plug -- reversing polarity can do some not-so-friendly things to DC circuits.
Apparently, the charger for the Xoom speaker dock may be the same as the Lapdock's charger.

Droid Bionic Lapdock Charger
Does anyone know if there is an alternative to the the Droid Bionic Lapdock charger or somewhere I can buy it for around 5 bucks????
I bought a Lapdock charger replacement on ebay for $12.95. Works just like the original.
Here is the link.
Lapdock AC adapter
Hi there,I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask,but i want to buy to myself a new charger for the razr because the original one is really slow for me.
so basically could i buy charger with more 850ma,lets say 1500ma or even 2000ma without damaging the phone?
Thanks .
The charger for the razr is good enough
i know most people will probably say that any car charger will work, but i'm against using cheap off brand chargers. i've read too many instances where off brand chargers over heated or over charged a phone batter. i have a oem motorola car charger for my droid x. i just got a razr maxx last weekend, and curious if the same charger will work with it.
this is the charger i have http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-MB810-Droid-Car-Charger/dp/B003VZQ5VE/ref=pd_cp_cps_1
and this is the charger they say is for the maxx http://www.amazon.com/Original-Vehicle-Battery-Charger-Verizon/dp/B007IJ82HE/ref=sr_1_13?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1354071848&sr=1-13&keywords=razr+maxx+charger
not sure if there is any difference. the droid x is labeled as "MB810". the maxx is "XT912"
I do not think that this will make any difference at all, unless the charger has less than 5V 0,75A (750mAh).
Btw, i had problems with my original motorola charger (and it broke too) that gave 5.1V 750mAh, and i'm using the HTC touch pro2 charger, and now i can use the phone while charging (as when i was using the old charger, my touchscreen was completely unusable).
What i'm saying with that: do not think that only because it has Motorola (or any other brand name, my sony ericsson charger gave me the same problem) it will give no problems. When something is cheap, it's cheap.
Hello all,
Anyone tried the 5600 mAh external battery from Power Bank with the Razr MAXX?
I know the story with "charge the maxx only with its own charger" but I do not really know the specific parameters of the charger or if this external battery can damage battery life. From what I know the original charger has output of 5V/850mAh and this one 5V/1A. But I do not know if this can have a bad impact on the battery. For me, all batteries and microUSB charger are standard. So it should be no problem. The story with original one is just "marketing" for Motorola to sell its own accesories.
Link to the external battery I am talking about:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/5600mAh-Ext...msung-HTC-Kindle-PSP-/180960517983#vi-content
I have been charging my Maxx with many wall chargers beside the OEM one for over a year now. I've used the one that came with my Nook, the one that cane with my HTC Droid Incredible, and a couple of others. No problems on that front.
I also own a portable battery charger device (10,000 mAh one by Anker) and use it on a regular basis since December. No problems so far with it.
