I have installed in my tablet and really very awful I would say and has too many bugs unsolved, so rather it would be better if you don’t install the version in your tablet, in fact I am about to downgrade the tablet firmware to 3.1, and really it is too good than the new one. as after installing the firmware I was not able to sync with the Samsung account though I was providing all the information correctly it was saying that authentication failed."
Not sure where you read that it was great but according to that post he is saying that its not good and buggy on the galaxy 10.1...

[Q] Samsung Android Upgrades

Looking to get a tablet and know I don't want an ipad, but do want a similar size screen. I'm leaning toward the Galaxy Tab 10.1. I currently have a Samsung Epic and have not been at all happy with the frequency of Android updates (we *just* got gingerbread OTA). Is it the same with the Galaxy Tab, or are the Epic upgrades slow because of the carrier (Sprint)? Sorry if this is a duplicate thread. I did a quick search but didn't find anything.
Samsung is rather slow. Asus was much faster in the past.
The Galaxy Tab will get ICS Update in Q1 2012, whatever that means Could be january, could be march. The good thing is, at least you're not carrierdepending (at least if you buy the WIFI version. but I think the 3G version isn't different).
The ipad and Galaxy Tab 10.1 do not have similar screen sizes. If that is what you want I suggest the Galaxy Tab 8.9 or 7.7

This is XDA, a forum for custom ROM devs and users. Nobody here (except some of the new folk who are afraid to root) cares how fast Samsung pushes updates.
Except this is the Q&A thread so the OP has a valid post IMHO.

Good of you to answer it then.
Here's an answer: Your question is subjective; some folks think that 6 months is fine, others think that we should have gotten it on the day it was announced. Here on XDA the vast majority of people will be running it long before the carrier releases it. Of course, there will be a few people here that will say "I don't want to root, when will the official update come?" and the rest of us will think "why are you here?"

S-Voice for Galaxy S II

Hi, I have searched for an answer and haven't had any luck. I know that the latest S-Voice App supposedly can't be installed on something other than a device running ICS. Found Here: http://www.xda-developers.com/tag/samsung-galaxy-s-ii/
However, I can't seem to get it to work. It keeps giving me an error: There is a problem parsing the package.
I'm guessing I can't install it because I'm not running ICS. Can anyone confirm this? as it has been mentioned, that it does work. Found Here: http://www.xda-developers.com/android/samsung-s-voice-ripped-for-the-world-to-enjoy/
SGH-7989
VER: 2.3.6
T898UVLDE
2.6.35.11

I'm still waiting for ICS to come out for T-Mobile...I have not Rooted my Device yet, don't really plan on it yet, but am considering it in the far future...lol

Thanks for your reply! I guess I'll wait for the ICS to officially come out for TM...
OP, you realize that as a T-mobile USA user, who owns an SGH-T989, you are actually in the wrong forum for your device, right? (I've also noticed you've posted in the Epic 4G Touch forums as well...)
I've already tried to tell you once that you're posting in the wrong forums. I guess it's up to you to realize what you're doing.
I'm not saying it as a matter of you're not allowed to post here, but if you request ports, mods, firmwares or kernels, and you post in a device forum that ISN'T yours, people will link you to solutions that will NOT work for your phone, and in all likelihood cause you no shortage of headaches if you decide to follow their instructions or install stuff they link you to.
Your device (SGH-T989) has VERY different hardware from the GT-I9100 and the Epic 4G Touch (SPH-D710).
But it's up if you want to continue to post in other device forums.
i used this -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662959&page=12
and its working perfectly
and i think it wont work on 2.3.3
upgrade to ics and use go launcher ,, even i was thinking GB was bettter , but after using hydrogenics i dont feel like going back

So harsh on s simple mistake!!!
I didn't realize I was in the wrong forum...and I don't recall you ever telling me such in the past.. I don't visit here all that often, only for advice or to help someone else if I figure out something. I am new to Droids and this forum, probably only here a few months.

Well, the reason it won't work for you is because the app only works on ICS, apparently. Not because of your device. (That link is to a post in the HTC Sensation forum)
You're still on Gingerbread.

Samsung and Vlingo are blocking server side requests that come from any device other than the SIII

Hope this helps
Working Svoice
A new hacked version of svoice have been released. I tried it on my GS2 running ICS Resurrection 1.9.1 and it is working with no issue. It bypass verification by Samsung. Just copy the zip file to your SDCard and flash using CWM.

[Q] ICS for Galaxy Tab 10.1

Does anyone know when ICS (Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0) will be released for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 (GT-P7510)? According to Samsung it was supposed to be last month but its already June and still no ics.

You don't have it yet? Use the "factory reset" while dunking your tablet in a bucket of icewater and the download will start.
Just kidding. Welcome to XDA. You're going to have a much better time here if you learn to use the "search" function before you post. The answer to your question is in many, many threads here. But since you're new, I'll give you a hint: nobody knows.

I agree with you,,Samsung never let us to know bout pics update''if you want feel the pics,,use in official rom
It was planned for May, but then Samsung decided to release Galaxy Tab 2 with the only major difference being ICS. So the planned update for the original tab was delayed until end of Q2 to help Tab 2 sales.

Please don't let another thread go this direction. If you want to tell this story, provide links to reputable sources in which Samsung (not some third party) has stated a release date for ICS for the GT10.1. If you don't have links, please stop making this stuff up.
At present there isn't even an official Samsung leak for ICS version of Tab 10.1, that's the reason why only nightly custom ROM's are available. Usually it takes still time after a leak arrived.

A single blog post? Come on now, if Samsung had promised something, don't you think you would be able to find at least one actual news outlet that carried the story?
Well... they did. And the blog post you linked to misquoted it. It took me 10 seconds to figure that out (hint: just google a line of the text). Nobody from Samsung has ever given a date for the release of ICS on the Galaxy Tab 10.1. Whether that's a good business practice is dubious, but claiming that they said something they didn't--and quoting a badly written blog post as proof--is lazy and increases the amount of misinformation floating around this forum...

HA
Just for fun I keyed into Samsung Live Chat and asked when 4.0 was coming out. I got some robot named Arnold who basically said:
"I'm sorry to inform you that there is no information available on an update for your device. Watch our website and STFU"
So it's gone from UK/Ireland and then the rest of the world to "we don't know sh*t". Sigh...back to beating the crap out of my ADW launcher

Tempted. Seriously tempted. Here's my thing...I'm a big time rookie and a victim of the "rolling recovery" disease that is flying all over the place in this forum. I've looked everywhere on all of the recommended threads and have investigated all kinds of tidbits but can't find a whole lot of consistency with regard to a potential answer to my question. I started a new thread in the Q&A here about it and would consider that for SURE if I could just get my recovery back to where I can read it so I can do a simple root.
You're probably laughing at my green ass and that's OK. I'm just hoping someone will have pity on me so I can finally start playing with this thing the way I want to.

[Q] Samsung I9001 Cyanogenmod 9 (No Camera)

N00b alert!!!!!
I have: I9001 Samsung Galaxy Plus
Hey guys, I flashed to this ROM last night http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1650615
I must say its super sexy and works well and i got Gapps working, but seeing as i cannot post in the above mentioned link i would need to post here as per forum rules. The only problem i have experienced so far with this rom is that the Camera still does not work, any ideas when the next build or update is coming out? the camera unit is rather crucial feature.
Other than that, it is great work arco68!!
Thanks
There is no post lock on that post, so you should be able to ask there. Also, it is rude to ask for updates on things like that. The creator will work on updates when (s)he can. Also, the camera is a known issue with ICS, and its not something any of us can work on. Its a driver issue, and it must be remedied by the creator of your phone.
I understand that the developer is busy and it is a "social project" but i dont see why you need to be rude about it
I was not intending to be rude, just informative.

Now does work!
just flash this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2000828 if you are still having issues following the steps detailed in there.
it's CM10 by Ivendor and it works just fine. The only reported issue is some glitching in the panorama picture but it's only the software glitching not the pic itself.

i think those junior members on first and second post is from INDONESIA. am i right? geez you guys are so easy to get fooled. you only join XDA dev just because of this bbm gingerbread thing huh? really something...
and fyi, i joined this forum a long time ago. but i never really thought i'd post something here ever. because i thought this forum is a place for me to get informations about my devices. and i really get so much knowledge here just by being a silent reader. but ever since that rjt3 guy posts about his bbm ginger port, people from my country starting to poping up here and there posting about this bbm gingerbread thing. and they don't even bother to read below his username (Account currently disabled). his username is banned already for causing this ruckuss here. why? because he is faking it for christ sake. HE LIED TO YOU ABOUT HIS PORTING BBM TO GINGERBREAD!!!
you all use a smartphone, so be smart already. there is no such thing about bbm for gingerbread, at least currently. just wait for RIM to decide if they are going to develop it or not. for now, if you want to use bbm, just get a new ICS or JB device. or better yet, get yourself a blackberry phone.

No not from Indonesia, No didnt just join to find a bbm port. Been here for a bit. I like you seldom post and use this forum as information. And yes rjt3 did post a fake bwe, There is interest for users with older devices for bbm ,and this is this best forum for ideas, and development. Wont buy a blackberry because it is an inferior product .The only think blackberry did right was the bmm app Since this post have upgraded my device and have no need for bbm for gingerbread.
