I had this problem with CM7 nightly all the time. Any app that was 10mbs or bigger would say I didn't have enough space, what I did was force stop market, clear cache and clear data. Then I'd restart the phone. It worked after usually, but there's been times that it didn't.
So what I did if it didn't work was go into rom manager, fix permissions after I cleared data and cache and restart.
It worked and if that didn't work, I flashed the CM7 Nightly version again and usually it worked after that.

Running Burntheory. I was COPYING not moving pics from phone to computer. Afterwards, gallery wont full load. Got about 8 folders, few load but maybe 5-10% at most.
Tried clearing data. Reset.
Bout to try and wipe data and dalvik. Don't feel like factory reset because I'm at work and need phone working for clients. Any suggestions?
Try unmounting and remounting your SD. Then reboot.

even better. Been wanting to contact and write in develooment forever, but I need 8 posts first. I first wiped all to use shift. My exchange was fried. fc before I could add account. Tried everything and someone made this complaint on page 6
Of the shifttheory thread. Anyhow, the fix for me was load my backup of burn theory (prob work with aosptheory too) then just wipe cache and dalvik. I flashed shiftTheory on top and problem solved. However, my gmail started FCing. Eventually it fixed with no special action.
I always assumes full wipe would be better always. But in this case it wasn't.
I loaded CM 7.1 stable on my Fascinate a couple months ago and sometime there after I started getting Force Closes all over the place.
Rebooting my phone only seemed to temporarily alleviate the issue for an hour or so, but shortly after it would start occurring again. It wasnt until I opened Touchdown that I found the potential cause as it reported I was "Low on space". I found this pretty odd seeing as I had several GBs free on both internal and SD storage.
After searching around a bit I believe it's my cache thats filling up. I ran Clear Cache in CWM it cleared up the issue for several days but eventually it starts occurring again.
First question: is clearing the Cache via CWM on regular intervals going to hurt anything?
Second (and more important) question: Is there any way to fix this without going with a different ROM?
Thanks a bunch in advance!!
I got it too!
I'm having the same issue, or I believe I am. You get a notification saying your low on space, and you can't receive any txtmsg's? Once you clear up the space the msg's come through fine.
I was using the stable for a long time.. and didn't get the error, and then I flashed the latest nightly and that's when I got the error.
I don't think the nightly is what caused the error, I actually believe it's pure coincidence. I've managed to keep in under control and can fix it when it happens.
I clear my cache as well, but I found out that the /data/data also needs some cleaning to get rid of the error. When I free some space in the /data/data I don't even need to touch my /cache at all.
I will post any other findings... info.. etc.. that I find.

your datadata folder is full most likely. You can try uninstalling some apps, or try running ng cache cleaner from market, or read this thread and try this tweak JT posted!

A novice question Im sure, but whats the best/easiest way to see how much free space is available on these partitions?
use the disk usage app from market.
Very frustrating! My system indicates I have used only 4 gigs of space and indicates I have only used 14% of my storage. How come if I try to install or upgrade existing applications it says Insufficient Space Available?

This sounds like a bug with ICS. I'd say reboot n see if it goes away.
I have the same problem with "insufficient storage available" on many updates and sometimes when installing new apps. I also often get the "Application already exists" when trying to do some updates. I've tried everything I can think of such as clearing cache, deleting dalvik cache, uninstalling apps, clearing data and cache on all apps including Market app. Nothing seems to help. This is a Prime with ICS and is rooted. Should I try a factory reset to see if it eliminates the problem?
FOLLOW-UP FROM PREVIOUS POST: Factory reset seems to have corrected the problem of not being able to update or install apps. I was getting the "insufficient storage available" error. After the factory reset, all appears to be okay now. This is a Prime with ICS and rooted.
Nothing wrong with your tablet, its the app that's the problem. Try installing other apps and see if they work too. THis happened to me on my old 500 mhz nexus one gen phone.

There were several apps that wouldn't update including some that came pre-installed on the prime, such as "Maps" & "Music". Some tiny apps wouldn't install, but most large apps installed fine. Very strange. Since I did the factory reset this morning, everything seems to be working fine so far. Google Maps and Music apps updated fine after the reset.
We can expect the issue to go away with a factory reset based on the fact installed apps will be wiped out. Has anyone found any other way to get their Prime to understand that there are 28+ GB of internal memory available?
I just noticed this after upgrading to x.13, wondering if it is timing or if others found this is another reason why x.13 was a wasted update.
A couple of days ago, I started getting the notification message.....
"You are running out of storage space, some system functions may not run".....
So I did the usual......
Wiped cache and dalvik.
Attempted to move some of my 'user installed' apps from internal storage.
Considered using SD Maid or similar.
Even considered fully wiping my phone and re flashing the ROM.
Then, just by chance, I went into 'manage apps' and browsed the app file sizes......
Found the culprit straight away....
GOOGLE DRIVE.....808Mb
Deleted it and the message disappeared......
WTF........why is this app over TEN times BIGGER than ANY other app installed on my phone......what is it about it that it needs to be that size?
The dropbox, mediafire and CX apps don't even come close to being that size........

I have noticed an issue with the latest CM7 for this phone where occasionally apps just open to a black screen. Sometimes you can get it to work by clearing data/cache and stopping the service, sometimes not. What usually ALWAYS works is to move it either to Phone or SD storage depending on where it is. This will fix it for awhile. I've seen Pandora do this mostly, but Dolphin also does it. Handcent does it from time to time. I have the CM7 BSR installed, I've also tried V6 Supercharger and it hasnt helped with this issue. I was wondering if perhaps my internal storage doesnt have a bad sector? I know on my old Eris I had to rescan the internal memory to flag blocks, it reduced the space a tiny tiny bit but fixed some wierd issues that phone had.
Any help is appreciated.
