Top of screen lifted. Incall speaker doesn't work - HTC Aria Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If I press it back down, the speaker works. Will tightening the top screws pull the screen back in? Thanks

Disconnecting calls with a cheek

From time to time I disconnect a call by accidentally pressing with my cheeck End Call button on the screen.
Any suggestions? Thanks.
Yup
Cellotape a 10cm pencil perpendicular to the bottom of your phone.
That way if it gets too close you'll feel it before you hang up.
yeah, don't hold it to your cheek. Hold it a few mm away from it. The mic isn't that bad you really need do speak in to it...
The screen switches off after a few seconds onto the call. Just wait a little till you hug your phone

[Q] loosy screen, volume buttons problem

I've recently purchased this great device from ebay and found out that the screen is a bit loose on the top. it's only something about 0.5mm and doesn't bother me at all. but the problem is that the volume control external button doesn't sit perfectly on the internal buttons so sometimes you press and they don't work.
I've notified ebay seller and he told me that's a known problem and that he could fix it for me. I just wonder if it's a small fix maybe I can do it on my own and save everyone the hassle of sending it back and fourth.
picture attached.
Mine does the same thing but it affects my proximity sensor. I have to push on the right upper corner when I want to hang up during a call, otherwise, phone thinks my ear is still up against the phone.

haven't tried that yet, so I can't tell if it's a problem.
I've had the same issue, both with the proximity sensor and the volume rocker. For me the top of the rocker is very loose and has to be pressed hard to get it to recognize. The proximity sensor, I found out, has a little cutout adhesive that is supposed to go between the sensor and the digitizer/lcd assembly.
Sometimes this gets shifted (for instance, when someone breaks their screen and decides it's a smart idea to replace it on their own like I did...) and you have to take care to place it back where you found it or you end up having to press the right corner of the screen to end your phone calls.
If anyone figures out how to repair the issue with the volume rocker, hit me up. I'm already knee deep in this thing, I might as well learn something new while I'm at it.

Dropped my phone - Middle button broken?

I dropped my phone (oops) and now the menu middle button at the button gives a weird clicky sound. It works, but weird sound.
Did I break something, if so how hard is it to dissemble the phone and fix it?
I guess the button holder must be detached on the inside of the phone. I suggest you download the service manual from samfire to disassemble the phone and fix it. Any broken part, buy it on ebay.

Volume button sticky (hardware error)

Does anyone else have the volume button sticky issue as well?
I took it for a guarantee repair, now its better, but its still sticky... Damn...
yeah my volume key got stuck and took it back for repair and they are still waiting for parts. :crying:
same issue. I try to control the volume via screen instead
I think I need to install an app to disable the volume button completely
My s3 also got same, after repair ...it's ok!

My Galaxy S3's Volume button was sticky just out of the box. Only problem was I had to post it to UK for warranty which could have cost me about 20 USD. So when I searched youtube I found a video demonstrating how to Disassemble the galaxy S3. So I went ahead
1- Power off the device
2- Remove the Back cover
3- Remove the battery
4- Remove the micro sim and the SD card
5- Remove all the small screws execpt the one in the top most part of the phone.
6- Now take off the plastic piece which will expose the volume rocker area.
7- Now take out the volume rocker as shown in the video.
8- Now slowly re-insert the voume rocker as shown in the re assembly part of the video.
9- Now your volume rocker should be working fine.
10- If it is still sticky you can take it out again and re-insert it again. If it is still sticky inspect the volume rocker for any damage, if so you might have to order a new volume rocker. It is available in Ebay for 5.90 USD. search ebay for ' Volume side button Samsung Galaxy S3 GT i9300'
11- Put back the plastic cover in place, which will clip back in to a good fit.
12- Now put the screws back.
13- re insert the sim and the sd card.
14- put back the batter and the back cover.

This actually worked for me. You have to make sure you realign the little board with the volume switches before putting the volume rocker back in. The switches need to be in the center of the cut-out in a straight line, mine were totally angled but now it works perfectly.
Oh and don't worry about voiding your warranty, there are no "void warranty" stickers or anything you need to remove. No one will be able to tell you've opened it.
I had the same problem. There is no need to take apart your phone. You can simply just pop out your volume rocker. You can use your finger nail or a flat head screw driver. Just reseat the volume rocker and make sure the end that has the cut out goes towards the ear piece.
Interesting thread for such a phone...

It seems like one batch had this issue, mine didn't..
Like all the people that bought the phone on the first batches and had ugly screen issues and cracking xD
I had this problem too. Took it to Sammy service center and they fixed it in ten mins.
They said that it was due to dust getting accumulated in the gaps. But I seriously doubted my soft capdase case would be a reason and stopped using it. No problem now!

Power button stopped working

My power button just stopped working on my truesmart ... I could still use the home button to turn the screen on ... but I didn't charge it in time ... and now it's off ... with no way to turn it on @ all!
How can I get the power button working again? I am quite sure (from what I have heard) that I have no chance of getting Truesmart to actually honour their warranty .
Thanks,
Kris
I've got the same on Callisto 300. The solutions are:
1. To clean outside part of the button - in my case there was some glue-like material on it - and it prevents the button to move all way to inside.
2. To open back cover with 4 screws and to locate small button (as elecric component) on the PCB. It's possible to push it with small screwdriver to check either the problem is in outer (mechanical) button either with inner one (component). In my case it was outer one, and the problem was solved after cleaning.
