I don't remember setting rockplayer lite as the default application to handle attachments downloaded through gmail, but when I tried to download/preview an .apk I sent myself, rockplayer tries to open it and it just doesn't work.
I did try manage applications > rockplayer lite> clear defaults, but that didn't work.
When I uninstalled the rockplayer app from my phone, the download and preview buttons disappeared from the email with the attachment.
I reinstalled the updates for the Gmail app and restarted a couple of times. I even reinstalled rockplayer lite to try to clear defaults once again, but that was greyed out.
ha, any suggestions?
Does rockplayer attempt to open any attachment or just apks? Also maybe you could check out mx video player instead of rockplayer.

I ripped out Mediascape as i use other apps.
recently i found ou Mediascape solves the blurry picture problem.
I re-installed Mediascape and Mediascape plugin, gave correct permissions, and rebooted.
Mediascape is there, it opens, i can apply pics to contacts, but if i go into the app, and clock on a song or a image, it doesn't open?
Have i removed something else that is related to Mediascape and why it wont open images/pic/vids?
what firmware are you using? what build? if you're using 435 you need three files for mediascape to work I believe, mediascape, mediascapepluginmanager, and semcmediaplayer.
reinstall everything with media in the name LOL
I have my work voicemails sent to my inbox as wmv files in an email. Ever since I got the fascinate the only way to check the hear the wmv file is to download, change its name to an mp3 file extension inorder for it to open.
If i try and open the file straight from the email it says the attachment cannot be displayed. Is there any program that i can usento open it straight from the email?
I already hace download crutch but that does not help. Any suggestions are really appreciated.
Anyone have an idea?
Have you tried downloading a different app like winamp or something else that says it can handle .wmv?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA Premium App
I have, but it seems that when you are in an emailnyou cant set it to default to an app that can play wmv. Unless i am missing something.
I do a similar thing with .epub files, but since the Gmail app doesn't know what to do with them, it won't let me download them. My workaround is to download them from the Gmail website through Dolphin Browser, which will let you save them to the SD card, named whatever you want to name them.
Here's what I found. The android email app only allows the native media player to open attachments, and the email app can not recogne that an attachment is a wmv so it wont be able to play the file.
I tried to solve the problem by looking for a different media player but could not find one with permission to open email attachments. At this point, i dont think that would have even worked since the email app never recognized the wmv file ext.
So i went with an exchange email client from the market. A bunch actually worked, you just need to see what works for you.
OK I've searched and nothing is working for me. I just got my music beta account and the app market is only giving me the option to open not update. I still can't get music app on my tab to allow me to see settings. Settings >accounts won't give me options to add music account either. What am I doing wrong? I've already tried deleting data and rebooting. Tab won't let me uninstall either...
What you need to do is download the app apk and then install it on the tab. Make sure you have ticked "unknown sources" under applications. Then use the browser on the tab to google "google music apk" or go to a link like this http://www.techofweb.com/google/downloading-music-app.html and download it.
Once it is installed you should be able to select your account and it will all work as it should.
I am in UK and had to use a proxy to get google music invite at all, and to confirm the invite, but it was worth the hassle. Once you have the invite you can upload and download from anywhere in the world.
SOLVED
Posted about this in the CM9 thread, but haven't gotten any help there yet. Basically every time I attempt to download any attachment in gmail (pictures, apk, etc), it shows that it's downloading and reaches 100% completion in gmail, but then does nothing. There is nothing in the downloads app. I have to use a browser to get these files, which is annoying, so any help would be much appreciated. Gmail version is 4.0.3 and I've tried clearing data.
Edit: I found a themed apk and deleted system app, reinstalled as normal app, works fine now.
I have a problem with YouTube app and Facebook app. When someone posts a YouTube video on Timeline and I try to open open it from Facebook app, instead of getting it in YouTube app, browser is opening Mobile version of YouTube. I have tried to Clear cache and Clear data from Application manager, unfortunately that did not help.
Could anyone help me out on this one? I would really appreciate it.
Thank you.
