[Q] Double Ring - Fascinate Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Here is my question: When the phone rings I get my ring tone that I've customized along with a standard sounding ring (unwanted). The unwanted ring continues to ring and ring even after answering the phone. Is this a stupid setting I'm missing? Anyone run into this before? It is driving me crazy.
Phone Specs: Samsung Fascinate running CWM7 nightly 33. I'm pretty customized with GO Homescreen, GO Contacts, GO SMS, Audible, and Beyond Pod (I can't really think of any other apps that effect the audio).
Ideas?

Your Experiencing the phantom ring...i'm not on the nightly cm build but I am running the newest glitch kernel, the one with the audio fix and the new green recovery and I got a phantom ring that lasted throughout the call and it stopped when I hung up..it only happened once and hasn't happened again. So since i'm not on the nightly builds I don't know if its an issue that has come back, because it was fixed for a while. Like I said I did get 1 phantom ring and didn't even reboot or anything and it hasn't come back. I know its not a setting your missing...try a different kernel for cm7 or try an older build and see if the problem persists.

Thanks. I will down grade to a older nightly first.

[Q] UnNamed v 1.x.xx notifications / speaker issue

Hi all,
I'm hoping I'm not the only one experiencing this (posted a Q on the general forum as well). Running UnNamed 1.3.0 (although noticed the problem with 1.2.0 also), and I have noticed that immediately after I receive a text message, all notifications sounds play out of the ear speaker, not the phone speaker in the back of the phone. If I 'clear memory' via Task Manager > Ram, the problem goes away but repeats as soon as I get another text message... Been trying to terminate processes one by one to nail down what's causing this but have not gotten anywhere.
Thanks in advance!

I don't know if this is an actual issue or if it's "working as designed"
I get the same behavior but I always understood it as the phone notifying me that I have a new text or e-mail.
Maybe gtg can provide more insight.
Strange that y'all have that issue. I flashed the ROM and so far no issues yet. Not even the one described. I even had my wife text me several times just to test.lol
Just want to clarify that I don't have an earpiece hooked up, so the sound comes out of the little speaker where you hear the phone conversation if you were on a call. Its really inaudible even if the phone is on my desk.

I have had similar problems and for me it was because the ring tones i was using were on the sdcard and if I got a cal or text while using the sdcard in disk mode it would go to the default ringtone I solved this by copy the ringtone, alarms and notifications that I use to the phone
mines doing it without using the SDCARD as a disk but that makes some sense, I guess ill put them on the internal memory...
stupid problem to have it seems though? ha
I have same problem, my rings was changed sometimes itself. I have all rings on SDCARD, because I have STOCK rom, so I can't write on internal storage. Rings was changed especialy after reboot, but sometimes it was changed during running device. I tried to restore device to factory setting and load all my apps back, and problem is still there. Any advise? Sorry about my english
That's weird, my buddy at work and I have been having the same problem only recently. Maybe the last two weeks. I'm rooted but haven't changed anything for close to a month. My buddy isn't rooted and he has only updated the visual voicemail app.

Random ringtones stink at work
My wife has stock stock stock. She has this issue.
I have rooted stock. I have this issue.
We both use Go Launcher. All sounds are on the SDcard but neither of us goes into drive mode much at all, if ever.
We have many audio files on our phones. Maybe the system is running into a max limit of files?
Also, sounds change on Go SMS, gmail, and G+, as well as phone defaults.
I was in a meeting at work and it switched randomly to the iphone default ring (didn't even remember I had it on there). I let it ring because couldn't be me...I don't have an iphone! Yeah, it was me. I was the jerk with the ringing phone.
This has happened only within the past month or so. We have had our E3ds for a year or so.
I will never again buy anything with Sense or without very solid, and very open kernels. This phone screws up really simple things. Multitouch stops working sometimes, the phone reboots at random sometimes, and now the ringer switches at random? Man, a Nexus sounds nice right now.

My vibrate is working on 35.1. It could possibly be a bad download or maybe your vibrate motor just wore out. ( it is one of the few moving parts in our phone)
You could try redownloading/ reflash and if that doesn't work, I would return to stock eh03 to see if it functions at all.

so i thought i was having that issue till i hit the call button, went into dialer settings and enabled vibrate from there. try it out
I honestly had sort of the dame issue twice. I would get a weak weird vibrate instead and when I reset the phone it was fine again. It us probably due to the age of the phones is my best guess.

[Q] CM9 / AOKP Unlock Sound

I've installed CM9, AOKP and Paranoid Android on my i9300 and I have one major issue. How on earth do I turn off the unlock sound. I can't seem to find an option to turn it off or even just change it.
Searching around for it I must be the only one annoyed by it.
Also is it supposed to almost totally silence playing music? Because that's really really annoying having to press a volume key to get the sound back after unlocking.
Settings ––> sound ––>
It's in there. One of the tick boxes further down the page.

I've seen that option and tried it, rebooted, tried it again, rebooted, tried it again, rebooted.. It's driving me nuts.
The unlock sound killing playing music is pretty terrible too, I hope that gets fixed at some point.. Think I might stick a bug report in for it.
Using the latest nightly of CM9 this works fine for me. I don't recall it being an issue in any of the other nightlies I've used either, which is all of them since the 24th.

Ringtone keeps changing on its own....

Guys I have an issue that I don't believe is rom related but I'm not sure (I'm on the collective's cp3) or it might be be a random act of insanity from my phone.
My phone has started changing the default ringtone and notification sound on its own 1-2 times a day randomly. This just started about 4 days ago and I've been on cp3 since the 2nd (this leads me to believe it's the phone not the Rom). It always picks the same sound for each. I have tried a couple different methods for my own tones. I have loaded my tones into the system / media folder and I have also used tone picker, but the phone reacts the same either way. I did a full wipe re-flash to see if that would fix it which did not.
Edit:
The phone always chooses scarabaeus for the ringer, usually after messing with the volume levels.
Has anyone experienced this issue and / or have any suggestions.
Thanks
2nd edit: just wanted to post in case someone else experienced this..... I think the issue is the app volume ace, when changing profiles it reset the ringer, but messing with the volume levels through settings had no effect on ringer. I uninstalled and hopefully this will fix it.

I Know its been along time but I am having this same exact problem with my Galaxy S5. Did you ever get it solved by uninstalling Volume Ace? I use the Volume Ace as well so I think its the culprit as well. Let me know couse I love the app and don't want to uninstall if its not the problem.
In my case it was definitely the app. I've never gone back to it due to the issues I had.
