[Q] Has Anyone Rooted a Korean Wifi GT10.1? - Galaxy Tab 10.1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have the Korean SHW-M380W Wifi Galaxy Tab 10.1 and was wondering if anyone has had success rooting this device.
I'm having trouble finding the firmware I need. Can anyone direct me?
Thanks.

Hi. Got one and I had no problems with rooting the device
firmware: PDA:EH13 / CSC:EH13

Hi locomaniac
Could you share the EH13 original firmware? and I want to know how to rooting the device

12ways,
You don't really need the original EH13 firmware to root the device - you can always create a unsecured boot.img and flash it, but you need to a custom recovery (such as CWM) flashed thru ODIN first - unfortunately, there are some screen issues when the custom recovery is flashed, so I would probably suggest you hold off on it.
Download anywhere the samsung galaxy tab 10.1 root zip file - search thru this forum if you need - and run that zip from your normal android recovery mode <3e>. You can always 'adb reboot recovery' or just do the normal Power + Volume Down when booting, then select the "recovery" icon - not the "Downloading..." icon, and apply the zip once you have pushed it out to the /sdcard partition.
I'm looking to build a unsecure boot.img with root/Superuser.apk along with the OC kernel applied, but will need to wait until we can get the CWM issue resolved first.
Thanks.

frankus is right.. i have some screenissues when i go to the boot menu... i am also a newbie. ;-)
I have some problems installing the cwm via rom manager... it doesn't find my device... just the i9000 ;-)
hope someone can help

[Q] Need help!! can't enter the system after flashing the kernel

At first, I rooted my P7510 and it worked well.
Then I flashed the kernel by Poitee and I can not enter the system now. The screen is distorted after the title "samsung galaxy".
Now I hope to flash another kernel but I can't put the file into my P7510. Because my PC also can't read it.
I still can get into recovery mode by the way. Can anyone help me?
Thanks in advance.
Ok, I tried some means but no one works.
Could anyone provide a kernel image that can be flashed by Odin? Because I still can access the downloading mode and Odin can detect my P7510.

[Q] Korean WIFI Tab CWM boot menu screen issues.

I flashed my Korean TAB with CWM... After that there has been screen issues in the boot menu, I was able to root the tab problem free, but when I go to the boot menu, it is scrambled... it still works. I tried flashing a stock samsung recovery (not Korean) and had the same screen issue.
Has anyone else with a Korean tab had this issue or know of how I may fix it?
shanmc,
I also have the same issue with CWM 4.0.0.4 and other versions as well - not sure why it's happening on the Korean TAB and have been looking for answers too. Also trying to see how I can help to make it work...
Yah, I want to flash back to the original recovery but I am having trouble finding it.
I'm having the same issue with my Korean tab when I boot into cwm recovery. So far no luck in finding a reason or solution.
Might the issue have something to do with an incompatability between CWM and the Korean kernel? CWM also doesn't play nice with my Korean GSII.
Here is Stock recovery of Korean galaxy tab
odin flashable Stock recovery..
It would be helpful.
HI.there frankus~
I met U in Naver Cafe..^^
Thanks. At least now I have stock recovery again, instead of a CWM Recovery which I can't use.
I tried flashing CWM Recovery from within the app, and that doesn't work either. When it asks me to select my device, the only options it gives me are "Galaxy S i9000" and "Galaxy S i9000 (MTD)" - these are also the only options I get when trying to do the same thing on my Korean GSII.
On both devices, as well as two other Korean GSIIs I've tested, it also still displays the old top hat logo instead of the new one. Does anyone else still have the old logo?
Have same issue with my device and just come back to stock recovery. Cannot do anything such root, flash with my tab. Is there anyone could help us????
The problem seems to be an incomparability with the Korean kernel.
pershoot was nice enough to make a CWM recovery for the Korean GT10.1, though, which can be found on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360588

It's good that you can restore back to stock recovery. From that you can root you GT by copy the file "Samsung_Galaxy_Tab_10.1_root.zip" to the tablet's root folder and reset it into the stock recovery mode, then apply the copied file. Sr I just found this information but have not tried yet.
I'm now still stuck on restoring back to stock recovery after install the CWM recovery. Do u have any suggestion for that?
Thanks guys,
I've finally CWM and rooted my Korean GT following here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1360588

[Q] How to Root and Flash using the latest tools..

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to flash a Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100 running Stock Android v.4.0.3 on Baseband I9100XXLPH.
I've searched a lot of threads but it seems that over the years there are 5 billion ways on how to root, install CWM and flash a ROM.
I'm not a 100% noob in this area as I successfully unlocked, rooted and flashed my HTC One X lately but:
Could someone please tell me the easiest way of rooting, installing CWM and flashing CM9.1 using the latest tools out there? Please also let me know on how to upgrade the Firmware if thats needed. I tried using Kies already but It keeps telling me that the device doesn't support that. And if someone could explain to me what a insecure kernel is compared to a original one, that would be fantastic!
I've already tried flashing CWM 5.8.1.5 using the standard samsung recovery but once I select "apply update from external storage" and select the CWM zip it starts CWM but after one reboot its gone again. I can repeat these steps everytime I would need CWM but isn't it supposed to replace the default samsung recovery?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] Galaxy tab 10.1 wont boot into recovery after installing clokworkmod 5.5.0.4

hey guys. just want to start by saying im a NOOB in the rooting/flashing world so i'll greatly appreciate your patients.
now, I had my glaxy tab 10.1 rooted and was running clockworkmod 4.4 and wanted to upgrade that to the new 5.5.0.4, I went to the following link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312218
and downloaded the zip file and installed it on to my tab (P7510UW) and now i cant get into recovery. Im not sure where I've gone wrong but if someone can help me get back into recovery that would be awesome. And also if someone can explain why this would happen and how i can prevent this in the future, would be great.
I am running the AOKP rom 4.0.4 if that helps.
again, any and all help is appreciated
thanks.
That recovery isn't for the 10.1 that's why it didn't work. Grab the correct recovery and you won't have a problem.

Thanks for the info. Any idea on how I can install the new recovery? Because when I try to boot into recovery my tablet just turns off. Is there a how to guide or something I should be following?
Thanks
Grab the correct recovery for your tab from the development section. Boot into download mode on the tab and Oden the modified recovery.
Are you even able to get the device to the download mode...???

[Q] Failed rooting of phone, No longer working

Hello,
I recently made some mistakes with my Galaxy S2 GT-i9100 while following this a tutorial on Galaxys2root.com (Can't link to the precise article because this is my first post) I flashed the CWM recovery tool linked by this website to my device through the latest version of Odin and afterwards my phone would not turn on. I was able to get into the Clockwork recovery mode however but couldnt install anything because I had forgotten to place any ROMS on my device beforehand. To try and resolve the problem I did a factory reset in the recovery mode but this did not effect anything. I am now unsure what to do next. I would still like to root my phone so that I cant get rid of all the bloatware put on it by Orange mobile as well as update my phone to Kitkat(Currently running Android 2.2) Can someone tell me what I have done wrong and what is the next step for me to take?
Thank you for any help that you can offer
the kernel you flashed it is the problem

is this site you are talking about:
http://galaxys2root.com/cwmtwrp-recovery
im guessing that is the problem(Installing CWM/TWRP recovery will most likely break the ROM you are running currently as it overwrites the ROM’s KERNEL).
If iam right, that means you have to flash another kernel,i suggest Siyah kernel 2.6.14 its for gingerbread version(it has CWM recovery and auto-root):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263838
after that you can flash the KK rom you want through CWM .
