Mad team rom flashing problem - Samsung Galaxy 5 I5500

As I am trying to flash a mad team 2.0.9 rom on my galaxy5..u am not able to because on their page they have given the two files to be flashed..one is the pda_full.tar and the other one is basefiles.rar on when extracting it gives modem.tar, csc.tar and boot.tar , on the madteam.page it is written only to flash the first part.i.e.pda.tar, but what about the basefiles.rar file?? How can I flash both the files under one package..?? and is it necessary to write those commands in terminal emulator as to working the apps2sd?? Is any other rom is as stable as 2.0.9 rom..??? 0o

Why do you start countless threads about the same topic? Just stick to one thread.
As for your problem, you said this:

surely that answers your question?
If not, only flash the first part (pda_full.tar) in one package. The rest don't matter, just remember to put the OPS in place

Rooting stock V20C (2.3.3)

Hi folks...
According to reports on this forum, some people seem to have managed rooting their stock 2.3.3 roms.
However, I don't seem to be able to do this
I used the official LG update tool to upgrade to V20C, and it looks like I have a perfectly working Gingerbread installation, but when I try to root (using Gingerbreak, which I thought should work), nothing happens (Gingerbreak keeps running without changing anything).
In the DEV forum FAQ, there is no information about rooting GB roms (yet).
If anyone who successfully did this, would care to comment, I'd be very much obliged
thanks

He cannot do any such thing with stock recovery. ("I used the official LG update tool to upgrade to V20C".) Duh!

Either that or do this:
in ADB:
adb devices
adb shell
echo 1 > /data/local/lge_adb.conf
then open superoneclick and root (using psneuter).
Thanks, that worked fine. First time I tried I had some problems but I must have done something wrong

Use the EXE installer since obviously you have no clue what you are doing.
crap... didn't see the text file. adb has been moved to platform-tools. sorry
Doktornotor seems to have disappeared (deleted?) and his signature's gone with him also, it's impossible now to search on his username.
Does anyone have a link to the thread where he describes how to root by flashing? I'm probably too stupid to wrap my head around the search function on this site because I really can't find the thread. (by the way I don't think it was the general thread where he tells you how to flash gingerbead)

I believe the file to be flashed was this, but I haven't tried it and I can't find the original thread either. :/

EDIT: found it! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1146566 (3rd post) Maybe Ciaox should mention in his howto-repo that this contains info about rooting stock 2.3.3

I didn't say anything about asking questions where you downloaded the kernels.
I said to read the directions provided in the thread where you got the kernels from.
Don't mean to offend, but If you can't follow the threads, then your not ready to root your phone yet,"you will more likely brick it". READ and then READ again..
Dont run before you can walk.
Also, MAKE SURE you are trying to use kernels (and/or firmwares when you move onto firmwares) meant for your phone. If you got these kernels from a thread in the I9100 forums, make SURE you have an I9100 by looking on the label under your device's battery.
I have seen a ton of people flash kernels and firmwares/ROMs intended for a different device, and the results have varied from the device not functioning quite right, to an outright brick that had to get sent back to Samsung.
The easiest way to root your s2 is zegrush exploit, works for me no problem
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1321582
and you dont have to use odin so flash counter doesnt increase
threads
Im not an expert on phones but i know quite a bit about computers ,ive looked at the threads and followed the instructions and even whatched a video.ive un ziped many a file but when i un zip the kernel i get a zimage file. where i got the kernels from no body has this problem thanks am i doing somthing wrong with this zip file because i cant use it as a zip thank
I was confused too before rooting but you learn quick and understand after you do it. I dont know much myself but I dont think you need to download any kernels to root, at least I didnt. just use the link in my post above and it will be easy, yes it is scary the first time!!!

Pretty much every kernels here dont require you to unzip them, you flash them as they are. As everyone above says, read the instructions. I also know a lot of computers, but sadly pretty much no knowledge of that is useful for phones, unless you know programming.

What thread are you getting the file from, and reading? Cause it REALLY seems you are not following the instructions correctly. The zImage file IS the kernel, but it has to be in a .tar file to flash in Odin. So it sounds as if you've unzipped it twice instead of just once, maybe.
kernels
I was sent to this site from android pit,to get my kernels to root my samsung galaxy s2. i have followed android pit rooting video exactly its not hard but the kernels you get from this site are not the same as on the android pit video. And they tell you to get them from here. why

I just TOLD you what you were doing wrong. I'm starting to think you really have no business doing this yourself.
If you end up with a zImage file, you unzipped it one too many times. Put the file that CONTAINS the zImage file into Odin.
root access thanks
thank mate i was zipping it twice ive just got root access the last message i wrote was before you told me what i was doing wrong thanks
thanks again ive just unlock my phone to any network

CWM manager wanted.

Hi all, Coming from Desire S I had the paid Rom manager and used it on my new S3 not realising that it wasn't compatible. I have had a look around here and can't see CWM as an APK file. I rooted using the toolkit method which doesn't include it, so has anyone got it? Thanks.
You do know google has been around for years and years and years now....

Perhaps, but a quick search is sometimes faster:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1719744
if you are rooted install Mobile Odin from market, grab the tar file in OP and flash from Mobile Odin selecting Recovery
Thanks, I do have Mobile Odin pro and I didn't know it was the same program as CWM Manager. I do have Touch Recovery if thats what you are trying to get me to load. As I said I have come from HTC DS and used Rom manager all the time, it just made everything easy.

It's not the same it's a tool to flash entire roms or kernels or recoveries, in raw img format compressed with tar. Far much powerful.
And it doesn't impact Rom flash count.
OP made it sound as if CWM is an employee or something.. hehehe

Q] How do I flash an update fix.

My first post on this site.
I've installed ArchiDroid V2.3.3. all is fine expect the camera. I've been the hunderds of posts and seen the update camera fix.
My question: How do I install the OmniRom-Fixed_camera_Lib_for_focus_and_flash_V1.1 do i use Odin or philz-recovery, and is there a step by step to update.
Your help will be most appreciated.

Your choice of user name is of concern, I'd suggest you read and follow the available guides on how to use custom recovery to flash zip files.

Thanks,
Believe it or not, but the problem I'm having is that this site is huge and the choice of words that I put into the forum to search bring up hundreds of posts.
Is it not possible for someone to put a link to the guide

You must flash Zip files with Philz... It's too easy, just flash it without any wipe or something
Thanks boomboomer & k2evil.

"Flash vendor" what does that mean?

Hi,
I was looking here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957539 and in the instructions it says, before "flash rom" to "flash vendor".
What does it mean? I've never seen this in other rom's threads.
For posterity
I think it's flashing the vendor.img file in leak rom (easy findable, I can't post links because I'm <10 posts), so: grab the original leak rom, flash it with fastboot and then flash the atrics rom with cwm.
Correct me if I'm wrong, thank you.

Administrators, can you close this thread? The OP did not properly do his homework on the entire history of the A4G and created a spam thread just to get his 10 posts.
FYI to OP, Vendor/webtop/osh are all the same thing as far as partitions go since the initial release of this device 3 yrs ago.

Are you ok?
Stop offending me, stop accusing me to "spam". I have so many intentions to spam that I created this account 2 years ago... so why spamming now? For accessing forum sections dedicated to developers only and piss off other people with my noob questions?
I'm answering myself because I'll leave some guides for people who eventually will have the same doubts, and it's not clear for a amateur user to understand this gap, and I changed roms a dozen times. I'm idiot? Maybe, not your business.
So, next time try be kind, I'll appreciate.
Btw: the rom in my MB860 gives some trouble (stuttering\tearing and processes shutdowns) that MIUI and epinter's CM10 don't give. In fact that was written also in the OP post of AtrICS thread, it's possible it happens.
