[Q] Elelinux 7.1 RC3.3 Old Market issue - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First, Elelinux. Awesome ROMs. Been using them since the beginning.
I wanted to post this in the official thread in the developers section but I don't have a sufficient post count so it seems.
I want to flash back to the old market since the new one is really slow/sluggish on my Hero. (yeah I did a clean flash, wipe etc.)
I downloaded the old_market_signed.zip and flashed it but I still only had the new market. After that I tried to make a small script (delete SYSTEM:app/vending.apk) and flash the old market zip after that. Still no luck.
Any other way of getting the old market back on my phone?
Thanks in advance

First flash old market then go to settings -> applications -> installed/ manage applications -> market -> uninstall updates
sent with love from me to you

Thanks a lot . Guess I missed that somewhere.

[TUTORIAL] New market android 2.2

I dont know if this will work for other android versions, but u could try i assume (should work on 2.1)
sign in on the old market before you do this!
after that download new market Here brought to you by th4r
throw it on your sdcard and flash it with xrecovery
after you done this, you will notice that you are missing some apps....
now to fix this easily go to the market itselve and download an app called "Eris Market", there is an free version and a paid one, it does not mather which one you download so i prefer the free one ^^
install it > run it > and boot > and your fixxed
i am not responsible for anything that can go wrong, keep that in mind, and dont rage this post! xD
goodluck all
p.s. a simple Thanks will make everyone happy

[Q] market woes Vegan 7 Experimental

Using the latest Vegan experimental build based on gingerbread and loving it. However the market is kicking my butt. It opens and shows apps, although not all apps, and even shows that i have purchased some apps if i come across them in my searches. However the "My Apps" tab is always empty, showing no downloads. I've tried all market fixes i could find and have used market enabler to no avail. Am i the only one with this issue? I should mention that the market was working before with TNT 4.2 and then with Vegan 5.1. Help is appreciated!

seems to be a gingerbread issue with our tabs for the moment. Can't purchase apps either.
Ok,well there is some comfort in numbers! Just curious if i had done something wrong with the install and was the only one havong the problem. Thanks for the info, i'll just keep watching the forums.
Has there been any status on this? Running latest Vegan-Tab 7 Experimental, and now my market myapps is empty as well.
Been using app center app (found in apps section of this forum) to fill in the missing holes from market place works rather well
I've tried every flavor of Gingerbread rom, and it's the same thing on all. When you first install GAPPs, and open the market, everything installed and all purchased apps show up in the "My Apps" section, but as market or something updates, and as soon as you exit that first time it's empty since. When I flashed the latest version of Vegan Ginger back on the 8th I used the universal CM7 gapps off the cyanogen wiki page.

I've still had the empty "My Apps" but am able to download and purchase apps with no problems. As best as I can tell, I have as close to full market as you can get. (Haven't searched for anything that I couldn't find)
Can't find the Market App on Vegan Gingerbread experimental.
Greeting,
I rooted my Gtablet with latest Vegan Gingerbread experimental.
It all went smooth until
Part Three – Install Flash and fix Android Market
Step 3.
Open the Market app. Once it loads close it (press the home button).
I installed flash, but I can't find the Market App of Step 3. Is that expected?
The tablet functions really well in everything else.
Thanks
It's labeled Experimental for a reason. I'm sure when Gojimi gets back from vacation he'll have more time to get more up to date on some of the cm7 fixes. This issue is known in the thread for that rom. If you need a stable market go to 5.1.1. Me I'm dealing with the market woes for now myself.

I wouldn't follow the walkthrough for that step. On the vegan gingerbread thread, gojimi put the market update file there to download. It's on the first post of the thread. Once you install the market with clockwork you can find flash 10.2 in the market. The walkthrough you're following links to 10.1

Thanks,
This tip help clear out my confusion. I expected the market to be there. I had no idea it needed to be installed on it own.
Thanks again
My newbie two-cents
I soft bricked my gtab one hour out of the box, but thanks to the Almighty and you guys I'm running vegan-7 and loving it. Market works great and so does flash. This was my first Rom mode, but it won't be my last. Thanks to all who post here and let the games begin.

[Q] Quick Question

I just install CM7 to my Aria for the first time with no problem at all and im just wondering, where do i start to get Games, Apps such as Facebook ect... Because I no longer have the Android market place on my phone. Help please
After installing CM7, you should also install the Google Apps separately. It's listed at the bottom of the first post of the CM7 thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=956223
Install it the same way you installed CM7. Don't wipe anything, just install this on top of what you have now and it should work.
Genius thanks so much

[Q] After the Flash

Ok! I installed ClockworkMod_Gtab_v08 and then flashed with gtab_tnt_lite_v4.40. Than I did the installed and did the Titanium Backup. I used the Gtab for about a week. All the while logging onto Market and downloading and installing various aps.
Two questions. 1. I downloaded and install Adobe Flashplayer 10 which downloaded and Gtab said successfully installed. But I can't find it in the aps section and it won't open (open is grayed out) in the market (where it has an "open and uninstall" button. Anyone know why it won't open?
2. After this flash, how do I find the next upgraded update for the Tnt or should I go the another rom like Harmony? And how do I do the flash? Just like the original flash using ClockWkMod? And will I loose all my installed (some bought) aps?
Thank you
Flash player isn't going to show in the app drawer. It isn't something you run, only utilized by the browser. Try loading a site with flash animations/games/video/etc. and seeing if it works. Not sure on the market side of your problem. It has never showed in my market no matter how many times I've done the simple fix. I got 10.2.156.12.apk from the viewsonic page (gtablet page, click on Favorites, not the link on the main page for flash) under Multimedia. Works fine for me.
I'm not sure about #2. Pretty new to this. If you mean the official Tnt, I think you'd need to revert to stock and update. I think Titanium can be used to backup, but again, I'm pretty new and just going by what I remember reading. Search around and I'm sure you'll find all your answer.

2) Bookmark the original thread and check back. The devs always update the existing thread with new releases. If you decide to change to another ROM please make sure to read that developers instructions to make sure there aren't any special procedures needed.

Android Market cannot download apps :(

I think iI may have broke my Android Market!
Can still access the Market, but when I try and download an app, its shows the downloading progress bar and then just does nothing. It worked before.
I have been zapping a load of apps recently using Titanium Backup, could that have broke my downloading abilities?
Got a feeling it may be some of the google apps I removed, like google talk, even though I never use them.
Could anyone point me in the right direction to the x10 mini 2.1 stock app .apks?
Much appreciated
Maybe it's what you done with Titanium backup.
Try this first :
Go to Settings -> Applications -> "Menu" button -> Select "All". Then search Android market, clic on, and now clic on "Force stop" first, then "Wipe cache" and "Wipe data" ! Then reboot your phone and check if it's working
If it don't work, reflash your phone using SEUS !

This should be stickied but NEVER, EVER, EVER freeze, delete or even look at any of the Google Apps (any of the apps that say "Google..."), those apps are necessary in order for the system to work correctly, so by removing Google Talk you basically broke your Market.
Just restore a backup (if you have one), reflash the Google Apps or reflash your entire ROM, because I don't think there's a way to reinstall Google Talk.
Okay, looks like I'll have to start from scratch again then.
If I reinstall Android using the sony software, I take it I will lose all apps and root?
I think in future I'll avoid removing bloatware
Yeah, flashing the Sony ROM will wipe your phone clean, but hey it's not that hard to root and flash a custom ROM, just look around for tutorials and you'll be good to go
Was looking at the minicm6 rom, but can't really see the pro's outweighing the con's on using a custom rom. From what I understand, some things like camera and wireless are buggy.
Think I'll stick to the official 'stable' 2.1

Actually, MiniCM6 1.0.0 is pretty much stock ROM stable and has all the functionality of it, I use it every day and it works perfectly, what you have to weigh in the pro/cons is MiniCM7 as the Camera is still stuck on 640x480 instead of 5MP.
Right, flashed minicm6 rom, loaded and run okay, but just didn't like it.
Flashed back to stock 2.1 using sony software, everything back to normal, marking downloading again
On;y thing now is when I plug my phone into computer, it doesn't give the option to install pc companion anymore, just charge or connect. Not that I'm really too bothered though...
