problem with root - Wildfire Themes and Apps

hi guys.i use latest cyanogen mod nightly i am rooted ofc but with the default cyanogen file manager and with couple of others i tested i cant move files to root of the sd.i am s-off btw any solutions?

Just drop the file on your SD card, don't put it in a folder, that is the root of your SD card.

first of all thanks for fast response.i want to do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1111145 so i need to put a file on init.d folder

You will need a File Manager which supports System Folders. That folder cannot be found on your SD Card but on your internal memory. Examples are Root Explorer and ES File Manager. The default File manager and others like Astro wont work.

indeed it worked.thnx a lot

[Q] 2.3 Roms do not recognize sd card

I have an AT&T locked x10a, I'm running 2.1 and it reads my sd card just fine. However as soon as I flash a 2.3 rom (custom or stock) it fails to detect my sd card. However xrecovery still reads it.
As soon as I flash back to 2.1 the OS will detect it just fine.
Any ideas?
i think the permissions of SD card in 2.3 is not assigned properly !! u might check the permissions
Do you mean going into xrecovery and selecting fix permissions?
I have tried that and it didn't work

Oh, yeah I tried using ES file explorer and went to /mnt/sdcard but it was empty.
Edit: Also whenever I flash a new kernel or rom with flashtool the program detects the sd card and reports the correct file size.

Interesting I have no problems with accessing the internal and external SD card, did you buy a new SD card?, Have you checked that it's formatted under the right file system?, and that it's the right type for your phone?.
It does detect ......but.. to access the files download es file explorer ...enable option upto root. ..
Goto root
Mnt
extra-sd
And there are all the files.

You shouldn't need a Root explorer to access the files on the phone since I have no issues without using a Root explorer maybe he just needs to download and install a file manager from the Google Play Store.

Missing Files

Hi,
On my DNA after installing a new Rom and copying some files around on my SD card, the files are now no longer visible using a file manager on the phone or when attached via USB to computer. But, I CAN see the files using the file manager built into TWRP. Any idea how I can make these files visible again from within Android? Is this a permissions issue?
Thank
Did u recently flash a 4.2.2 Rom? If so ur files are now under sd card, 0 file

I am not able to delete files on SD card

hi
I am not able to delete files on my SD card even though i used to work.
probably it is because i copied files using card reader, but does it mean i cant delete files by file manager in phone? how can i delete them with my phone?
i use galaxy s3, es explorer, rooted.
thank you
First, check other explorers (like Root Explorer).
Second- are you able to delete files using card reader? if the answer is yes- see if your SD is encrypted under 'Security' settings

Error copying large zip file to sd card

Has anyone had problems copying large zip files to their sd card?
I downloaded the 4.4.3 Bootable RUU zip file which is about 1.5gb from the forum and went to copy it to my sd card and it won't let me. It gives me a message... The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected.
I've checked the md5 to make sure it wasn't corrupt and tried it on multiple computers, made sure the drivers were up to date and tried it with different cables...ugggh
I noticed however that it seems to have something to do with the zip file. If I rename the file to .txt it will let me copy it...and I can copy other typers of files just fine to the sd card.
Any thoughts on this problem and a work around to get this file on my sd card?
Same exact thing here.

Well, I sort of have a fix.
As far as the rom is concerned, I just ended up downloading it via chrome and then copying it over to the root of my sd card using ES File Explorer which seemed to work
After I wiped my phone and rebuilt it, I did noticed that ES File Explorer also has some issues deleting folders etc on the sd card. I really don't know the reasons for all this other then I have heard Google is really moving away from suppot of SD Cards in phones.
Anyway, I was able to delete the folders using the native HTC File manager app.
Hope any of this is of help to you
If the fix wasnt implemented to read/write on sdcard, itll have issues....copy to internal storage and try to move too sdcard
