I was on revolutionary and rooted and went back to s-on, not rooted, flashed the new RUU GB 2.11 but i'm not getting good 4g.
Can I now flash the MR2 radio thru hboot? If so how do I do it?
Thank you!
You are s-on? If so no you cannot flash radios.

There is no way to stay on 2.11 and get another radio with s-on then? TY.
You need to have s-off the flash a radio, my suggestion would be to get back your s-off and root and then flash your modem, also you can use stock and still be rooted/s off just need to download the rooted version of the ruu.
From xda, unless you have to take the phone in for service theirs no reason to go back to s on

Also the 802 radio has been great for me on 2.11 are you using that radio? It also vastly improves battery life

I don't think we can update radios as of yet on hboot 1.5. That would require s-off.

You gotta relock run the 2.17 ruu the unlock ,flash recovery and superuser that's the only way

Hello,
So at one point my EVO 3D was S-OFF, HBOOT 1.40, and running a Jellybean ROM. At one point, the rom started acting funky so I ran the Sprint ICS RUU. I rooted it, restored the data partition, and I was HBOOT 1.58 unlocked S-OFF. Yesterday I downgraded to HBOOT 1.40 using a PG86IMG.zip and then the stock ROM would not boot. I briefly saw bit of the Sprint Boot logo, then it shut down, and repeated.
What can I do to get my stock ROM booting again?

I didn't think that 1.40 hboot was compatible with jellybean, I could be wrong. you can flash another hboot then wipe cache and dalvik then give it another go

I would imagine if the ruu gave you 1.58, that's what you need for stock
1.50 and under is usually for GB, JB and some custom ICS roms

The ROM I was planning on installing was MIUI v5. I believe it is JB.
I have a Nandroid of my stock ROM, so when I want to go back I can simply flash HBOOT 1.58 again?
Then once you've changed boot, it won't boot to the stock ROM....do a full wipe and flash the jb ROM

Are you on 3.15 or 3.16??
To use this you need to be s-off: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2197909 (vipeRuu by Viperboy 3.16)
And here you can get the RUU for 3.15: http://androidfiles.org/ruu/?developer=Jewel (provided by JMZ)
That will get you back to stock unrooted... Good luck!
I'm on 3.16 and I have tried to run the 3.15 RUU and I relocked the bootloader but I just ran into errors

You need to s-off to run vipeRuu or follow the first steps from the s-off process before the step where you have to run baby racun and you should be stock uprooted but if you wanna get rid of the tampered/re-locked message, s-off then vipeRuu... Good Luck!

ok im h_boot 1.19 with dirty racun s-off with the latest radio firmware on latest meanbeam rom. which ruu would I use to go back to completey stock ?
You can use this tool. It'll take you completely stock, including unroot and S-on.

I have an at&t version m8 on nV rls4. Radio is 1.14. Neither sunshine nor the other s-off method will work on my phone. I get the whelp error or thr "incompatible" error.
Is there a way to update my radio without flashing a stock rom and locking recovery first?
Love the rom. Download speeds are fair at best on lte which is why i want to update radio.

Flashing a radio.img? No.
What hboot version? It shipped with hboot 3.16, so unless you changed it, it should still be so (it looks like you haven't gotten the OTA update, as this would have updated your radio to 1.16). AFAIK, only the newer hboot versions are what is blocking firewater s-off method. I would try to flash the stock rooted ROM and try firewater again. AT&T variant with hboot 3.16 should have no issue with firewater; as this is how I got S-off. And the only difference I can see is your custom ROM. It wouldn't think a custom ROM would make a difference, but its worth a try.
The other option if you still can't S-off, is to accept the software 1.58 OTA update or flash the RUU. As already mentioned, it will update your radio to 1.16. But if experimenting with various radios is you goal, this isn't the solution.
Thank you. Yes i am 3.16 still. I will try your advice and report back.
