What? What does an armband have to do this looking like an iPhone. There are valid reason to want an armband. Running or going to the gym are time when an armband might be useful.

I was going to make this exact comment, but I didn't know how useful it'd be to helping the OP(and me) find an armband for my phone.

I use this one. Not bad, just got to wear your phone upside down since there is no hole at the bottom of this case:

Time to bring this thread back from the dead!
I have been looking for an armband for a while. Is that one good? It doesn't have a way to close at the top, couldn't the phone fall out?
I found that same case on eBay for $11 shipped.
http://cgi.ebay.com/BLACK-ARMBAND-P...wItemQQptZPDA_Accessories?hash=item2558426b9e
This phone is thicker then the iPhone by 4mm but could it fit in an iPhone case? I might swing by the store tomorrow and try sticking it in one.
Yes, the Tilt is tight in the sleeve. But I haven't had any issues with it falling out during my workouts, etc. I think the sleeve actually is an iPhone case, but I might be wrong. Sorry I couldn't be more help!
im looking for one that has another slot/compartment for cash. nothing too big, just a little slot.
I have been on the hunt for a armband that I can use that I don't have to take the bodyglove case off that I use. I have tried a few of the stores around my area and they are all made for iPhone and with the case on they are all just to small.
That armband on eBay looks great. Just worried about water getting in if it started to rain while running. Suppose I going at least hold it upside down if needed till I got home.
I think it makes sense putting it in upside down so you can glance down with it on your arm and read the screen if needed.
Now...any recommendations for some decent application that displays speed, distance run and tracks my route for uploading to Google Earth? Saves buying a Garmin 405!

Try Endomondo - it uploads automatically to its own site and you can extract the track info from there. Mine's been off a little bit with my TP2's GPS chip, but I don't know if that's the chip itself, the software, or the fact that I run with my phone in the pocket of my shorts.
I need some help looking for a case. I would like something folio style, but all of the pictures of the M1, Px cases look like they stand very upright. I am looking for a case that will lean back to allow it to sit and use as a keyboard stand. Anyone have any ideas for me?
Thanks!

CLIP
I got a CLIP from it2steve's web store and it works as exactly as you are wanting it to. It comes with 3 grooves on one side so you can have the gTab in 3 viewing angles but if you let it all the way down as shown in the attached photo it's perfect for typing.
As a new GTablet owner I was looking for a good case as well. The Clip looks sweet but it seems to be sold out from it2steve's store.
Anyone know where I can score this sweet looking case?

Yeah, I heard that too about the magnets on the M1.
I am very happy with my CLIP case. In my opinion it is the only Apple quality accessory we have for the gTab at the moment. It's well worth the extra cash and I can't recommend it any better.
Thanks SJ! Exactly what I'm looking for. Appreciate the pic.

I tried moving a small (1/4" diameter x 1/8" thick disk) rare earth magnet near the screen of my GTab, and didn't see any effects. Has anyone else tried any experiments? How large is the magnet in the case?
I saw a clip style case at staples that's made for the xoom- any chance it would fit our g-tabs?

No. I looked into this a few weeks ago (don't remember where I posted that) and the Xoom and gTabs are different sizes. If I remember correctly the gTab was bigger/longer than the Xoom.

As an M1 owner who's used it for a couple of weeks now, I can tell you that the magnet issue, like most things on the Internet, is blown way out of proportion. I use the tablet daily at work, have used it shopping for replacement flooring/furniture for our flooded gameroom, and sitting on the reclining sofa playing Angry Birds. I've never had a problem with the magnets reducing screen responsiveness or "freaking out". My only complaint is that over time, the GTab tends to settle further down in the case, half-hiding the camera and all but covering the ambient light sensor. If you don't plan on propping it up on a desk as often as I do, it makes a wonderful case.
M1 Case and G Tab Screen
I got an M1 case on Monday so I've had it for 3 days now. The fit, feel and look of the case are all excellent so far on mine, however, the it does mess with the screen. The longer it stays in the case the worse it gets. I have done tests in and out of the case, putting to sleep or not, rebooting or not and now have no doubt it is the case but I am not sure if its actually the magnets or not. It could just be the case itself touching the edges of the screen all day. In any case, (some pun intended) the longer it stays in the case, the harder you have to press the outside portions of the screen to get it to react. Mine eventually gets to the point where you cannot press hard enough to get the keys on the keyboard to function. When this happens I put it to sleep, pull it out of the case, wake it up and it works like new again. I will probably be investing in a black clip myself in the near future. This could just be a problem with my particular Gtab and it may not effect others at all but that is my short bit of experience with the M1 Case.
There's a few black clip cases in stock at it2steve's web store now.

For anyone who doesn't want to spend $50-$60 on a case for a $300 item, WI Global Technology has cheap alternatives. One with clips, one with elastic.
I got the one with clips. For $16 - It's OK.
All ports are accessible.
It's vinyl - NOT leather.
The covers extend about 1/16th" beyond the GTab - just enough protection (for me, anyay)
As you can see. the kickstand angle is about 75 degrees - it would probably be better if it were more like 60.
For $16 delivered, you get what you pay for (maybe a bit more... ymmv).

Hmmm been using the M1 for a few weeks now. Never noticed this magnet issue. I know magnets can mess with hard drives but never heard of it messing with an LCD. Doesn't the ipad 2 smart cover have like 70 magnets?
EDIT: Looked it up, 31 magnets.
I've been looking for a solution that would offer an easier way to hold the TF with one hand and still allow full 360 rotation. I came across these two on Amazon and I was wondering if anyone here has tried them. Here's the quick pros & cons that I can see:
Hand-e-holder: http://amzn.to/jQ5jzc
+ Hold with one hand / 360 rotation
+ Comfortable wide neoprene backing for your hand
+ Size doesn't matter Uses an adhesive disc to mount one side of the holder to the back of your tablet - so it should work with any tablet out there
- I see the adhesive as a con also - not sure I want to stick anything on the back of my TF. Plus, once it's stuck on there it's semi-permanent in that you can't take it off one day and then stick it back on the next (you'll need to buy a new disc for $6)
- Price is kinda high IMO at $40
Video (47 seconds in): http://video.foxnews.com/v/966135816001/gadget-gift-guide-for-dads/
HeloStrap: http://amzn.to/jKnO39
+ Hold with one hand / 360 rotation
+ Comes in multiple colors (red, green, blue, black)
+ Price: Only $25, so $15 cheaper than the Hand-e-holder above
+ Attaches to your tablet via elastic bands or grips so you can easily attach or remove it. Also will work while your table is in a sleeve.
- "Officially" only supports ipad, ipad2, & Xoom. I did a comparison and while the TF is longer on one side, it's shorter on the other. So I jumped into my wayback machine (and google) to figure out the "hypotenuse" and it looks like the TF is ~20mm longer. From what *I* can see of the HeloStrap in the images it certainly looks like the elasticity could accommodate that extra 20mm.
- The part of the HeloStrap that your hand fits into doesn't look as comfortable as the Hand-e-holder. Actually, that was the only con mentioned for it on the Amazon reviews - that it could be a tad more comfortable. But it also wasn't bad enough for folks to warrant it any less than 4 stars.
Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IpZ4-pdq3ag
I put in an order for the HeloStrap (black) because I like that I can pop it on and off easily - with or without my TF in the sleeve. I'll post back here when it shows up and let folks know how it works out.
I'd still like to hear from anyone else that's tried one of these - OR that has found another option that allows for the 360 rotation.
Please post up how you like it when you get it.

Ya thing so?? Why? The HeloStrap seems to hold fine on the iPads - and it will be a bit more snug on the TF.
Even on the other one, the adhesive seems pretty tight.
I'm not going to be doing any BMXing with it - I'm just looking for easier one-handed holding while couch surfing and swyping with the other..
Unfortunately neither one was Amazon Prime so it may take a several days to get here. Hopefully before the weekend though and I'll be sure to report back!
Never even knew anything like these existed. Of the two I like the HeloStrap more... really tempted to buy one, but I've wasted too much money lately so ill wait for a review.

What? You'd likely shatter your pad doing that no matter what.
I went a similar but slightly different route with the Padlette (padlette.com) which I bought off of Amazon. It's not as fancy as the other options, but it's pretty heavy duty and I have little to no fear about it breaking or slipping off. You can either hold it in one hand or you can slip you hand in behind.
In either case, an option worth looking at.
How comfortable is the padlette on your hand? Does it feel tight after an hour or two holding the Transformer? Is it equally comfortable in portrait and landscape? Also, how is the fit on the tablet?
Also, a question about the Helo, Do the straps at the corners mark/scratch the tablet trim or screen?
Excellent FIND...and I think I am tending towards ordering one too....
I will do more research as well and keep you'al updated...
Good luck with yours.
Regards,
Misfitz

I find it very comfortable. I was participating in an event this weekend that required that I hold the pad for roughly four hours and I did so with no problems. You can either grab it with your fingers (my preferred method) by hooking them around the straps, or you can simply slide your hand in behind.
Because it's at the same angle in either portrait or landscape it's equally easy to hold it in either configuration. I also like that it's removable without leaving any evidence that it was there. The only (minor) problem I've seen is that I have to have it oriented in SW to NE because in the NW to SE direction it covers up the volume rocker.
Thanks. I'm very interested in the padlette... sounds like it may be worth $20.
Sorry for the delay in following-up. I wanted to put a short video up, but my Sony Vegas just hasn't been cooperating with me.
I received the HeloStrap last Thursday and finally had a chance to play with it last night.
Overall, I think it's great. I definitely agree with the 4/5 stars rating on Amazon. The only con being that the hand part of the strap could have been more comfortable. It's not horrible by any means. You just notice it when you first start using it, but then quickly forget about it.
It still looks like the Hand-e-holder would win in the comfort category, BUT - I prefer the HeloStrap because of the lower price and the fact that I can slip it on or off easily vs having to semi-permanently stick the Hand-e-holder on. If I didn't have the Asus sleeve for my TF that probably wouldn't be as much of a factor.
BTW, the HeloStrap gives a nice snug fit on the Transformer with or without the sleeve. It's snug, but not so tight that it would be a concern (this is what I wanted to show in the video). It definitely feels very secure - I don't see the TF "falling out" of it or anything.
It certainly made the couch surfing MUCH more enjoyable last night which was my primary goal!
If I didn't have the sleeve I would be much more tempted to try out the Hand-e-holder, but the HeloStrap is the one that gives me the option of using it easily with the sleeve or without. Now i just need to see if my wife can come up with some idea for making the hand part a lil cushier!
I'll take another crack and getting a video together and will post that as soon as I can.
I finally got around to shooting a quick video of the HeloStrap on my TF. Hopefully this will give you an idea of how it fits - with and without the sleeve.

Not sure, but given that it's a full sleeve/case made to fit the ipad, I don't think it would work for the TF. The dimensions are too different.
The HeloStrap just needs to stretch diagonally from one corner to another - whereas that sleeve360 would have to fit all 4 corners.
Let us know if you give it a shot though!
That extra tension on the corners of my Transformer would amplify the screen bleed issue I'm having by 200%. Looks cool though.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using Tapatalk
Know what - I think you can stick this to the outer part of your folio and use it. So that the TF remains pristine.
Even better - with the Techtree stand, you can create your own 360 degree rotating hand holder.

Seems like a great price. Not sure if it fits the GTablet exactly, but turns out this guy is based like 5min from my house, so I can always return it to him if its not good.
Anyone have any opinions on this?
you could always "ask a question" to get the dimensions. I'd be afraid that it will stick out the sides
Almost definitely not actual leather (I hate deceptive descriptions) and there doesn't seem to be any visible way to actually ATTACH the tablet to the thing. Horrible picture details, and it is highly unlikely a single case could hold (well) a 7/8/10 inch tablet PC like the seller says.
I would pass on that one. Just go to electroniccrap.com or look for listings here for the ones MADE for the G-tablet.

There seem to be 2 clips on the bottom and 1 on the top to hold it. Most cases come with 1 (or 2 ) more clips on the side. Without this there is a chance of the tablet sliding out through the sides. Although once you have side tabs you have to be careful that they dont block the usb port.
Also you *have* to check the dimensions

I've had one of these before. They are really cheap looking and are not leather but a shiny slippery plastic. It is not recommended for use in a professional setting unless you enjoy people laughing at you. There is a thread in this accessories section that covers this case at length. Search for USB keyboard case.
Also, the tablet does not stay firmly in the case and will slip around a lot and may even fall out.
Avoid this case like a dirty diaper.

LOL, you and me have different priorities! I'm not buying this to wow people and I'm really not concerned about people laughing at me. I am concerned about the tablet not fitting tho. Either way, this case would only be for when I wanted a keyboard with me, which is not all the time (otherwise I'd stick to my netbook which is about the same size as the tab+keyboard case).
When I'm going on a trip, plane ride, camping, etc, and this will be the only thing I have access to when traveling light, I like the idea of a keyboard option. But that's another thing to carry, so I'd rather it be built into the case. But the rest of the time, a thinner classier case (like the Kindle DX ones) would be preferable to me, especially to sit and read in portrait orientation.

Dont have pics, but it fits (it is made for the gtablet),
Some info/pics are at
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1015853
goodintentions had a video review for his, on that thread but the link does not seem to be working.
I need a keyboard rarely, when I am typing out a big email. It is functional for that purpose. Some minor cons as I see are
1. Even with tabs on 3 sides, it can slip out of the 4th side, so you have to hold it right. Am thinking of adding a Velcro strip on the 4th side.
2. The leather is suspect, and it stunk up my room for a few days after I opened it.
3. It adds quite some weight.
4. Have to reboot the gtablet after connecting the keyboard most times for it to work.
5. The keyboard connects to the big USB, the small USB is covered by the left tab. But I rarely use that when it is in the case.
But it is $25, the USB cable length is fine, and it does have a magnet for the USB cable !!!
I bought one of these cases off ebay, just waiting for it to arrive. I bought one "specifically" made for the gtablet, with the tabs not blocking the usb port. I know I could of had one for less, but would have had to mod the case to fully work with the gtablet. I was actually looking at the one OP posted to save a few bucks, but I didn't like the way the case was designed, with no tabs to hold the tablet in place on the sides.
I was wondering if any has come across a leather "smart-sleeve" for the Z3? I don't think the term really exists so let me explain.
I don't really like cases, but I don't really like a damaged phone either. The compromise for me would be a leather sleeve type of thing - like this random one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-Lea...lePhonesCasesPouches&var=&hash=item4627d52959
But having to take out the phone just to check the time or see who is in fact calling would greatly decrease the protectiveness of said sleeve. So I thought a "smart-sleeve" with cutouts for the mic and speaker along with the window from a smart-case would be the perfect solution.
I haven't been able to locate any of this sort though and I don't believe my sewing skills are up for the task
Would you think there would be a market for this type of deal (And feel free to snatch the idea btw) or am I the only one thinking this could be practical?
//M
Regarding what you mentioned; this is the best way to enjoy your device and guarding it at the same time. I've been using leather pouches since a long time throughout all the phones I've bought and been enjoying it. I use the tpu back cover case when going to the gym or with any outdoor activities.

Yup but yet they are unpractical as I need to take it out of the sleeve when the phone rings - and the risk of me dropping it when I do that is unappealing. That's why I wanted a quick window in it

No that is a flip or book case - not a pouch. I've had one of those for my G2 and didn't like it at all - the "door" is in the way most of the time
//M
Oh I see. So you want a pouch like the one sevoflurane suggested but that has cut outs so you rarely need to remove it?
I think, as you say, you'll struggle to find anything like that. The official book case is the only one I know that has the smart window anyway. I think you'd need to make something yourself.
Perhaps buy the official flip case and a leather pouch. Cut the front off the flip case and cut aligned holes in the pouch. Glue the case front to the inside of the pouch. You'd have to make sure you know how the flip case triggers the smart window on the phone so you don't accidentally remove it.
Don't know how handy you are but it might be tricky to make that not look terrible!
Another option is a smart watch. I have a Pebble which is perfect. Obviously has the time (it's a watch!) but also shows me notifications and stuff without even taking my phone out of my pocket. I can even see who is calling and dismiss the call if I don't want to answer it. Pebbles are pretty reasonably priced too and can do a lot of other funky stuff.

I can even see who is calling and dismiss the call if I don't want to answer it. Pebbles are pretty reasonably priced too and can do a lot of other funky stuff.

Yup exactly what I wanted
For the window the trigger most probably is a small magnet (at least it is on my G2), that shouldn't be much of a problem fitting in a pouch. As for a DIY kinda deal I think i might need to look for somebody else as my sewing abilities lack a lot to be desired :silly:
I've been on the smartwatch route for quite somme time, but has decided to go with a fitness tracker instead (Basis B1), it actually provides me with something on top of my phone, which a smart watch does not. But it is a good idea though

Smart watches have fitness features. Pebble has had a recent update and there are a few excellent step counters, swimming counters etc but I'm not gonna try and sell you smart watches.
If you are careful, you could probably customise a pouch without needed to do any sewing. You only need to cut it in the right places and you wouldn't need to cut through any existing stitching. If you bought a couple of cheap pouches you could experiment with the cutting before you spend too much money.
Another thought, you might be able to use NFC to trigger the smart screen so then you could just stick one of those in the back of the pouch.

Not to derail completely - but no other fitness tracker can keep up with the Basis in terms of features (Heart rate monitor to name one). But on the positive side they have announced an upgrade which has smartwatch capabilities
I guess I need to find myslef a few cheap pouches for the purpose of experimentinga bit. Good idea on the NFC - at least if Sony is more open to their smart-window than LG is

If you do go for this, or find a case that suits, please update this thread. I'll be interested to see your solution.

Sure - I've ordered a rather cheap one from eBay, should arrive next week: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Yousave-A.../390946403503?ssPageName=ADME:L:eek:C:US:3160
I'll see if I can mod it to my needs :silly:
If it is working out, I'll do it with a more premium leather case

Regarding what you mentioned; this is the best way to enjoy your device and guarding it at the same time. I've been using leather pouches since a long time throughout all the phones I've bought and been enjoying it. I use the tpu back cover case when going to the gym or with any outdoor activities.

No worries, thanks - I found something similar on eBay from a German dealer, so will see what thats like when it arrives. Appreciate the replay, thanks again!
Just received the case I ordered from eBay - what a crappy piece of junk. It's by no mean made for the Z3, I've send the seller an email but wont probably do me much good
Anyway if anybody could help figure out where the magnet to detect when the door is closed it would be cool - my tries have lead me nowhere so far
