[Q] Stock ROM with alphabetical app drawer? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm pretty new to the SGS2 and am looking for a ROM that is pretty much stock but has the app drawer sort automatically by name instead of install date
any suggestions?
thanks in advance

Just install the app Appzorter lite. it will sort the apps for you.

[Q] How to find app icon locations? Anyone?

Ok so I have an app NinjaMorph installed which allows me to open .apk files and swap out a file (say an icon file) and then repackages up the .apk for me.. so far it's working as expected.. the only problem I'm having now is figuring out the locations of some of the apps I have installed as it seems that some of them aren't listed or at least don't appear to be.
Anyone have any idea where or how I can figure out the install locations on apps that are already installed? Is there another app I can install that will provide that info perhaps?
For instance the GasBuddy app. It doesn't show up anywhere in the system/app directory...
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
Try /data/app

Oh nice looks like there's a ton of them in that directory... thanks!
you need Better Cut its a paid app on the market iv had it since it came out back on the G1. its great replace any apps icon with any image you want
they even have Themes and icon packs available for free once you download it so if you want all your icons one style/theme it will do them all. or you can just select individuals
No problem.
johnt2k: I think he's talking about customizing icons within the app, like menu buttons etc.
Actually what I'm trying to do is change a few icons in the app drawer. I can use Desktop Visualizer to make custom shortcuts no problem but changing the icons in the app drawer is a little giving me trouble.
I've been trying to use this Ninja Morph app to edit the .apk files and swap in the icon I want but it've only had it to actually work and with my settings and contact apps. Doesn't seem to take on the others i've tried to actually apply the change.
Yeah it seems like ninja morph only wants to change things in /system/app

[Q] Extracted calendar app ?

A few quick questions.
1) Can any of you guys shed light on how to extract some of the original apps from our Samsung Fascinate?
2) Would apps (such as Phone Dialer or Calendar) work without the Touchwiz framework in place?
The reason I ask is because I am on Cynaogenmod and am loving everything about it, but the stock calendar sucks hard, and even though I've switched to using Go Dialer, I still like the speed and cleanliness of the original Dialer that came with our phone.
Super File Manager can extract apk files. Don't know if you can install them in CM7. Go under apk manager in Super Manager.

MIUI

does anyone know any good app drawers for miui ? other than go launcher?
You don't need an App Drawer for MIUI. You can just create a folder and drag all your apps into that folder (name it "Apps" for example). Then drag this folder to the center of your dock bar and that's it!
But if you want an app for that anyway, use the search, I know there is an app for that here

Straight from my Miui guide posted in the Q&A section...
GET AN APP DRAWER:
Check out xuso's ALTDRAWER app! It's a great resolution to MIUI's lack of an app drawer.

Lags a bit the first time you launch it, but it still is a good resolution to Miui's lack of an app drawer.

[REQ] Need some .apk's

Hey guys, recently flashed a very stripped sense ROM, I love it but it's missing some apps that I like. If anyone could pull and upload basic mail app, friend stream widget, "play music" app and basic voicemail app from their installed rom, that would be much appreciated. Thanks for your help.

Some of those apps will not function on a stripped Sense ROM. The easiest way to find out is get a standard Sense ROM, and extract the .apk files from the /system/app folder, and copy them to the same location on your phone, and change permissions to 644 (RW-R--R--) using Root Explorer.

Looking for icons for all the apps in Google Playstore.

Hello guys,
I was looking for a place where i can download all the stock icons for the apps that currently exist in the play store (or at least the most famous ones).
I have been doing Google searches for all the apps one by one.
Was wondering if someone knows of a place where i can download a Zip file from, so that i don't have to manually search each app and downloads their stock icon separately.
Thanks in advance
