I was on 2.5 and getting crazy 4g speeds then switched to 802 and now my 4g is so slow. Seemed to happen when i switched to 802. I run SHIFTS3NS3 rom.
any ideas? I believe i cannot be on 2.5 with SHIFTS3NS3
thanks

im not thrilled with the new leaked radio.

I switched to 802 radio from stock on my Tbolt. Performance seems about the same with 5-8 MB down, and 2-4 MB up.

Adr leaked an unreleased radio on the bamf forums. Best radio I've ever used. Pulling mid 20s on d/l consistently and o haven't dropped signal yet.

I don't think it's the radio. Just pulled 32mb/s down on speakeasy.net. This is also the most stable radio I've used, and that's saying a lot...I'm in NYC, where data stability is terrible for 4G. I do switch over to 3G more than I'd like, but if the alternative is no data at all, I'm ok with 3G sometimes.

Quantify I am in NYC also. In queens. It's been better latley. I got a 23dl and 9ul the other day at my sons soccor field.

where i live there's no 4G yet, but been visiting family in an area where there is 4G and on the 802 radio(have tried latest synergy, shiftao5p, das bamf, gingeritis 3d) and it will show full bars. anytime i try to download something wether it's off the net, torrent, etc... it averages 1 - 2Mbps... at night it will go up to 3Mbps.
i have not tested another radio yet, but if i have time before i go back home i will.
[EDIT]: ok i changed to CM 7 and put the 2.5 back on and now it's averaging between 3 - 5Mbps download... so definitely an improvement from before.

[Q] Phoenix Area 4G Problems -- 5/17

Anyone else in the Phoenix area experience major 4G issues today? I've been getting "Webpage not available" and "Unable to connect to the server" (Sync) errors all morning. Tried restarting my phone a few times, but no luck. Phone shows that it has a 4G signal, but only the Up arrow is lighting up. Just curious if anyone else is having similar problems.
*EDIT* Have also tried turning off mobile network and then back on, but still no luck.
**EDIT #2** Now switched over to 3G and 3G is working ... cant re-capture 4G signal anymore. Looks like another outage.
I only used 4g once this morning to do a speedtest and it went smooth. Other than that I'm leaving it on 3g since I don't receive 4g well in the building I work at.

When you step out to lunch, please try your 4G connection and let me know if you have any luck. I'd appreciate it.
4g is working fine for me. I can access the internet and just ran a speed test.
I'm back up and running on 4G now as well. No idea what the issue was, just glad it got resolved quickly.
What are your 4G speeds usually like? I've been running Speedtest a few times a week and I tend to hit 18Mbps for my down speed, up is usually crap and around 2.3Mbps.
What rom are running? I'm trying the new gingerbread leak but the 4g is slow as all hell...2.5 down only compared to 10-12 running on a froyo radio

Running Das BAMF Remix 1.6.3 with Adryn's 4.4.7 Kernel. I've been switching off between 4.4.7 and Imoseyon's latest kernels as well, but I tend to get a better Linpack score with 4.4.7.
4G speeds seem to be consistent on both ... havent tried the new Gingerbread leaked Radio yet.
I'm stock right now getting around 8.5 mbps down and 2.5 up

[Q] Better 4G signal with MR 2.5 instead of the NEW .627 Radio?

Not sure what everyone else's take on the new radio is (.627), but I personally am not having as good of reception with 4G as I did with the MR 2.5. I ran the speedtest app on both and confirmed this.
I switched back over to the MR 2.5 as a result of my test, and sure enough, the 2.5 is still better.
Anyone else with similar issues?
I agree service wise mr2.5 was much better on 4g and even 3g... however, the new one has not given me even one restart since i loaded it. 2.5 i was having restarts or simple shutdown few times a week.
I have never had reboots with any radio or Rom but with the new OTA radio I lose 4G and it sticks to 3G a lot. If I force 4G I will see 1x a lot of times when I pick the phone up.
I went back to leaked 2.5 and all is right again in the world.

4G connection Problems

Ok so i just flashed Chingy's newest ROM (gingeritis 1.2 with official gingerbread base) and after a couple hours of use i noticed that my 4G started to crap out a little bit and i could only get 3G, im on the latest MR2 and was wondering how to fix the problem, ive messed around with LTE On/Off, even went so far as to relflash the ROM and and then reflash the radio through hboot and to no avail...no 4G...i also reflashed 1.1 and still having no connection, last thing i did was to check if 4g was out in my area (orange county, CA) and there are no posts saying that there is...Any ideas??? help please
I have a similar problem after flashing the stock 1.70 OTA ROM and Radio. I can't seem to get 4G data, it is always on 3G.
I've had issues all day. In the seattle area, I think it's just verizon updating the network. I saw an article saying they were expanding coverage in our area, so I assume that's what it is.

[Q] 4G issues on rooted phone.

My 4g is not coming on a "fringe" areas anymore, and when I am in the heart of a 4g market, it cuts in and out. It will show 4g on the notification bar, but will not connect to the internet, or will just show an upload arrow. It will eventually work if left along for a few mins, but then cut out or freeze again.
I've been rooted since July, and this is the first time i've had these kinds of problems.
I'm currently running BAMF Forever 1.0.5. I don't believe it to be a ROM issue, b/c i have since flashed other ROMS just to test, and still have the same connection problems.
I have pulled the Battery and sim, and made sure the battery door was on properly. I have tried every GB radio out there, and have not been able to fix it.
My big question: Is this a hardware problem, or could it be a bad sim, or something else?
Since my phone is rooted, how exactly would i go about discussing my 4G issues with Verizon? Would it just be best to nandroid my ROM, and install a rooted version of stock? Can i call and ask for a new SIM over the phone, or will i have to go into a store?
My phone is still usable, as the 3G works fine, but I would like to try and figure out a way to get 4G operational again.
If you've read this far, Thanks.

did you go from rooted stock rom to the Das Bamf Forever gb rom without flashing a new radio? there are links in the development forum to the new 802 radios that i would recommend. i'm using that with shiftao5p and 4g is running great.
I am having issues with 4g in my area too. It was just turned on in my area a couple days ago, but I live in the heart of the area and get nothing but 3g. In certain areas while I'm driving I've noticed that it will connect to 4g, but not for long and when i have been able to do a speed test it has only been around 5 meg down which doesn't sound right.
I'm using the latest gingeritis 3d and have tried all sorts of different radios. I've pulled the battery and the sim card and no dice.
Does it just take a little time for them to get everything working and then the coverage will be what its supposed to be?

[Q] Slow 3G speeds (Throttled?)

I'm wondering if I've been throttled :/.
Yesterday morning I was updating a few apps on the market and all seemed normal. I was updating a 2MB app in around 5-6 seconds (I'm on 3g CDMA-eHRPD). Then last night I noticed that browsing was going a heck of a lot slower than normal.
This morning a ran a speed test and found out that my download speed was at 107kbps (compared to the 987kbps I tested 2 weeks prior).
What made me curious is the fact that my upload speed is higher then my current download speed (upload is now 258kbps, was 486kbps 2 weeks ago).
Also if I was being throttled wouldn't I receive some sort of notification?
NOTE: All these tests were from the same location.
Well what's your data usage on your bill so far? Cause it could just be the 3G network taking a crap like it normally does

You aren't being throttled. I'm at a little over 15GB this month and they haven't throttled me.

Hmmm ok. Yeah I am at 5GB this month so it's either the phone or the 3g around here being wonky. I haven't updated my ROM in over a month so I'll do that first and take a drive and see how the service quality is elsewhere.
I have noticed things getting a little faster now. Not like they were, but I hope it is just the service in the area. I live in a semi rural area with big cities 10 miles in both directions.
I noticed that when I had the 906 radio I was getting super slow download but normal upload speeds. Are you on the 906 radio? If so try the 802 one
Yeah I'm running 802. I don't think I ever went higher. Gotta update the baseband in my signature. I had a lot of issues on this build I am on so I'll wipe and flash the latest of my ROM and see where that goes.
I'm pretty much ruling out throttling because I haven't heard really anyone else with the problem lately.
