In call background problem - Motorola Droid X2

Hello,
I tried installing a different in-call background on my rooted droid x2.
But as soon as I replace BlurPhone.apk i get errors.
I then do a battery pull and boot it back up and when I try to make a call, it shows the new background but it doesn't place the call and I get this error:
The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again
Im not sure if I can put links on my posts but here it goes:

You'll probably have to sbf.

I did a back-up of my original .apk and when I put the original it works fine, all I wanted to do is replace the apk with a new one but it seems there is something wrong with them

[Q] Samsung Fascinate - deleted framework-res.apk after notification bar mod.

I was hoping someone here can give me a bit of advice.
A couple days ago I was able to successfully root my SF and change out the bottom right search key so it would default to Google from now on.
Feeling good from all that I thought I'd take on a little tougher challenge and do some more customizing, starting out small before I think about tackling the Voodoo stuff later on.
WELL... I tried to change the battery indicator to the circle indicator followed the directions here: UOT Kitchen. How-To
It asked me to back up my "framework-res.apk" because I would have to replace it with one the website generated for me.
Everything went fine until I stupidly tried to do a 1:1 exchange of the new "framework-res.apk" for the original one, by first renaming it to apk.old with the hopes to paste in the new one in its place. BUt as soon as I renamed it and moved it to a backup folder it froze before I could insert the new one.
I know now I should've run the new .apk instead of swapping, but am now stuck with a SF that turns on but that is stuck at the SAMSUNG logo.
I hear the startup sound play and the verizon logo music, but that's as far as it goes. I can still boot into recovery or download mode.
Now, It seems that "all I need to do" is find a way to get access to my internal SD card and rename the "original back to .apk and move it to its original spot in the framework folder.
Is there a way to do something like this? I'm hoping there's some easy way to do this, short of having to do something more radical.
Hopefully there's someone out there that might be able to offer some advice for my current situation.
THANKS!
UPDATE:
FIXED!
Here's what I did.
I tried all the fixes in this link
Odin Restore files to get you to stock - xda-developers
but i was still getting forced closes.
then I wiped the stock recovery cache from the recovery menu.
After that it was still giving me FCs but to a lesser degree and I was able to make it into the "Settings menu" and do a factory reset.
After factory Reset everything has been quite stable.

Sounds like you broke your settings, just pull the settings apk from the original rom zip and push it to your phone then reboot.

Forgive me if I may sound a little dumb here but how do you pull it from the original rom then push to phone?......
I am sure one of the fonts did that. it has happened to me before. To pull somethiong out of rom just unzip it. Settings.apk is in system/app folder.
Awesome fonts. Thanks!!

YES PLEASE I redid everything on my phone and its great again but i would love to use a different font but i do not want to use this zip until someone can pin point the problem
the ajax font crashed my settings, i repeat do not install the ajax font, it will crash your phone and constant FC of your display settings, i extracted the original settings .apk from my rom and pushed over and rebooted, that does not work...still FC... not cool...
I pinpointed the one that's causing the force closes. can't remember the exact name because I deleted it right when I discovered which one it was. I do believe it had something like "7con in it. Or something to that extent. Hope this helps everyone that's having this issue.

Uninstall it using Titanium or super manager or whatever you use and it ll be back to normal.
I unistalled them all using Titanium and was able to open up my display settings again.
Edit: post before me beat me to it.
yeah, that doesn't work, i uninstalled all of them hours ago...tried to push the settings apk over using root explorer but root explorer wont allow me to mount the system folder to rw just stays ro, i pushed settings.apk over to the data folder where app is and that did nothing after i replaced settings.apk...should i unistall settings.apk from titanium then reinstall settings.apk from my rom zip? i try to reinstall the settings.apk and it will not allow me to do so..now my launcher is freezing up and force closing on reboots...

[Q] Deskclock on Atrix ?

Good morning,
I'm looking for a working deskclock.apk for my Atrix. I loved this stock app on my old Desire, and used to left it open during the night as a clock.
I really miss it on my Atrix, coz the screen always gets off when I leave the phone with the stock clock app. opened.
I tried Kaloer Clock but it ain't perfect. Either the screen gets off by itself, or the screen remains on, even if the app is not open.
I tried to extract the deskclock.apk from some Desire's ROMs but the installation failed..
Do you know any similar apps or is there a way to make it work on the Atrix ?
Is this the stock clock app from android or something specific to the sense rom? If stock, I used one I pulled from CM7 for the nexus one. It just installed like a regular apk.
I tried to install one that I get in Desire's CM7 that I've extracted but I have an error duringn the installation. Maybe I should extract the ROM with the appropriate tool Will try and let you know, thanks
edit : I've extracted a fresh downloaded CM7 ROM for Desire, copied the file Deskclock.apk located in /system/app and tried to install it on my Atrix, but after a short progress bar I'm stuck with an error "error occurred during kit analysis" (french translation).
I won't even try with the Desire stock app which obviously requires sense...
If someone knows a similar app...
re-edit : the application Alarm Clock Pro does exactly what I was looking for !
Gentle alarms good too, but no desk top clock.

[Q] Replacing Files In a Rom (Cyanogenmod7) General

Hello,
I am using cm7, but this is a general question about replacing files in roms. I have been working on an issue that involves opening the zip file and then edit and replace certain files. I have seen a few posts in the past where it says to replace certain files in a rom, but everytime that I do I get an error after flashing. After flashing and boots to the main screen that asks you to touch the android, I get an error that says "Sorry, the process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly" and the only option is to click on Force Close, but it just keeps coming back. Something is definitely not right with replacing files in a rom, but Im not sure if there's even a correct way. Im using winrar as everyone has mentioned. I have tried using the Fix Permissions option in the Clockwork Recovery also, but no luck. Only option is to reflash. Anyone have any ideas? Does the whole rom need to be recompiled?

I think I've ruined my Atrix, someone please help.

I love this phone.
It provides me with the processing power that i need, and handles my daily tasks very easily.
As a phone, it does everything i need it to do.
HOWEVER
I am a huge customization freak!
My solution? Lets ROOT! (This is the site I used, Rooting Gingerbread 2.3.6 (4.5.141) - The Complete Guide)
Everything was all good and well...then I tried to apply an ICS Theme
Using the app "Theme Manager ★ root"
I didn't work and i don't know why, so i tried to apply it again.
Still didn't work
Next thing I knew error prompts began to cloud my screen saying that i needed to "force close" random things I had never heard of.
Unable to do anything (or even turn off my phone) I panicked and pulled the battery.
Now, when i try to boot it, it doesn't get past the "M Dual Core Technology" boot screen.
Somebody help this poor fool...I'm ashamed to mention my love and interest for technology
Ooops
Oooops ...

Hm, unpack theme, try to find which files was overwriten and then boot to fastboot and write back original files from stock ROM.
Or reinstall firmware (RDSLite + sbf file) - you will lose almost everything except music and photos
