Hey all, I know some of you are like me and hate the TW buttons in the status bar so I threw together a KME version of SystemUI.apk Just copy the new one into system/app Make sure you backup the original in case. I am running it fine on the Starburst rom.

Good point. That was a late night blurry eyed post, I'll add a screenie in a bit when I get back to my tablet.

there are a few of these out there already. but good one on contributing bro. i loike seeing more people create things around here.
I didn't realize there was an AOSP on available for the KME update, all of the ones I tried just made the whole bar disappear.

Cool! Yeah I want to get the clock looking AOSP as well. Really my main goal is to hack the MiniApp framework to start building our own miniapps, I'd love to have a GTalk miniapp so I can send quick messages without closing out a video.
I've started work on it, but working part time and grad school part time is going to keep that project at low priority.

yeah i know how that goes man. 2 jobs, finishing my degree, and a 5 year old daughter prevents me from spending too much time with this stuff too. mini-tray is on my list of things to kill.

Hello!
I am running an overcome rom.
How can i remove light line above the system bar?
And how can i remove screenshot and miniapps buttons? I want to make AOSP like UX.
Thanks in advance.

Like many of you guys, I really appreciate the benefits of a nice big clock widget. And I find the time on the application bar to be very redundant. I would like to see an option for that to be disabled in any of the newer upcoming roms. It will save precious space

Personally I like having the time there. That way when I'm doing something like browsing the web I can still see what time it is. Comes in handy when I'm on my lunch break.

yeah, there will definitely be instances when you'd want the time there. i think an option to display it on and off would be very handy

It would be great if the time display in the menu bar could be dynamic. When in an app have it display, when on the home screen, have it hidden.
What power widget is that? Definitely more useful than the android one.
I got the gauge battery and the switch pro widget. Highly recommend it. There are many different configurations.

Thx!
it's fairly straight forward to remove yourself if you like. If you check this thread; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=780614 There's a walkthrough. But be aware on the SGS the line item numbers for the clock and alarm are different than what he shows in that thread.

Awesome! Thanks!
Hello all, been a while since I've posted. I have been working hard on the sidelines on a completely themed CM7 that feels acceptable to me. This is about as completely themed as it comes for me.
First off, on this copy I did remove many extra .apks I never use including DSP manager, development, wallpapers, the ability to change themes within the ROM, and a few other things I think.
As per previous experience I did leave the browser in (even though I never use it).
I did add a few items over time I have grown to not be able to live without, custom font is one of them. I spent a lot of time converting the ringtones from the MyTouch 4G and made them all compatible with the MyTouch 3G Slide. I have incorporated then into the various ringtones and alarms available to the Slide. I even added a few 'ringtones' to the notification audios so now longer notifications are available to those who want it! In addition I updated most the 'bland' settings icons with more 3D/colored ones.
In the notification bar, you will notice I have added completely custom and high quality color icons which do include some that I customized myself.

I waited so long to post this because I don't plan on doing updates to this ROM, this version of the nightly works flawlessly on my phone and I do not plan on updating for some time now. Though I will post an optional version 2 in a day or so without all the apks deleted for those of you that like to have the entire ROM.

Thank you for your work. This looks good. I may try this. I've found CM7 to be unstable for me so I've still been on Cyanoginger 1.2 (CM6.1.1) which has been the most stable for me. I may wipe extra to try this out. . . . . and use it until the Gingerbread roms with Sense features become stable. I really miss Sense.
looks pretty nifty, i'll give it a spin as soon as i have some time on my hand.
Everything seems to be working pretty good. The theme kinda bothers my eyes, but it still looks pleasant.
i was sold when i saw witchblade...im flashing it now!

I forgot to mention that I flashed this without wiping and everything is working.
Just curious, how does the theme bother your eyes? I only changed icons in it.
Icons are nice, I just think they're kinda big. The font is probably mostly it. Is it Caviar Dreams? I flashed that on a rom myself during the original CR_OTA days. I like it, though. I'd just have the font a tad smaller, too.
I'm diggin' the rom.

Some of you may have heard of tablet mode and if you have tried it you know well that it smashes your phone. Apps are small, their layout is screwed, things overlap, crash or stop working, Google Play forbids you to download, if you tried AOKP you cant even use launcher and phone. In short, it is a mess.
PARANOIDANDROID changed that. It does not "heal" tablet mode, it obliterates the boundaries. You define how big or small apps are, you define in which UI they display, no matter if your phone runs in tablet or phone mode, which also you can define. Customize every single entity on your phone, lockscreen, navigationbar, system-components, widgets, apps. If you prefer stay with your three bearpaw buttons + drop-down curtain or switch to a combined navigationbar + drop-up notificationcenter, enjoy Youtube in 3D, Gmail and settings in 2-columns, Chrome in its better mobile UI, etc. Nothing overlaps, nothing crashes, everything works as you'd expect. This is completely new ground and has never been realized before, it is lightyears from tablet mode.
We created it to establish the idea that tablet/hybrid mode can indeed work and that is was an error on Googles side to use the same layout for high resolution devices that is used on tiny little things like htc wildfire. We saw how badly build.prop tablet-mode was milked so we decided to remain closedsource until the codebase is mature enough to publish. Our first repos went public last week and the rest will follow soon, i will personally commit the hybrid sourcetree into CM9. Until then, do not ask us for sources, we have good reason to do it like this and when it's out people will know why, they will see something that works, not features for show. We are still fully open to ports. As long as they stay true to our vision and base on CM9.
As the sheer amount of porting requests needed to be addressed somehow we open this topic so maintainers can help each other and it'll be easy for us to take a look once in awhile as our pm-boxes are exploding. We understand that setting up PA can be quite confusing since it introduces must-have configurations that are unique.

A college of mine has the One X and another one has the One S and they are all the time making fun of me for missing that feature.
Do you think it will be possible in the near future to add this feature or import it from an One x rom or make a Sense 4 rom (without +).
Thank you in advance for your replies.
+1
how about just adding quick settings to the notification pulldown? i didn't take a too sharp look at the roms availlable, so i don't know if any other but cyanogenmod does have this feature yet. but you could on any rom always install the app widgetsoid and add the quick settings panel yourself.
here's a link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.jim2
it's free, customizable and easy to set up. just take a look at the screenshots and you know what i mean
btw: i guess that they dumped these settings because they will (hopefully soon) give us android 4.2 for our one x+ which will already feature a quick settings tab in the notification pulldown. i think it wouldn't make any sense ( pun-alert) to build in a feature which will surely be dumped on the next major os upgrade which is sure to be delivered in near future.

Hey,
i have tried several of these notification apps, but it' snot the same... Long press doesn't bring you directly to the settings, no direct brigness adjustment... etc.
I\m just a little dissapointed as i had been faithfull to HTC now with the third android (Desire - Sensation - One X+) and i never experienced a fall back in the development Quick settings had been already developed by Leedroid at Froyo times and even Miui is famous for this feature. Gues i just bought a too new phone that doesn't yet have real modified rom's available.
Additional: in the wigdet add that you recommend the flashlight doesn't work

the function is not fully implemented because i need some help to make some code for bluetooth...
but when finished it should be a Pokemon Go+ Device Emulator .
Nice as a start. But design matters a lot especially if you're planning to publish it to the public.

I agree completely, looks like it's out of 2010 or even earlier but my first app was the same way keep working hard and you'll get there!
Hmmm... the background is nice, but remember that the main focus (I hope) is the content, make sure it stands out more than the background. Some of the text doesn't fit in well but the placement and margining is ok I think. The settings and contacts look more nicer than the main menu.
Like others have said, make the foreground elements stand out more. Also, on the menu page you have text in light blue, green, red and white. It makes for a very mixed impression, like you didn't know which color to pick.
You don't need an exit button either, so you can remove that. Also, if the user wants to contact you it's better if you make it a button that starts an Intent to e-mail you. Otherwise the user needs to do everything themselves, open up their mail client, hope to remember and type your email correctly before they can send feedback. Make it easy for the user.
