the version of Android is 2.3.4
Model is LGL55C
I don't have service with this phone at the moment, but when I did in the past it wouldn't let me install apps from Amazon - the file I was instructed to download to make this work didn't appear to be on there (but when I plugged it into the PC, it was showing up in the folder.)
Its as if the manufacturer or whatever didn't want me to install apps outside of Google Play or something... (yes, I did check the option to allow it to install from places other than Google Play)
So it looks like netflix is incompatible with the Tab 3...Is there a solution or do we need to wait for netflix to come out with an update?
Are you saying Netflix shows up as "not compatible with this device" in your Play Store? It was available in mine. Did you search in the Galaxy Apps store?
Are your rooted? Netflix stopped supporting rooted devices. You can still side load it though. Netflix isn't supported in all countries and if you have a foreign tablet that could also be the issue.
It works fine on my S3 in the US. If you're rooted, it won't install, or run if you sideload it. There are a few articles about that, and they mentioned at least one root hide.
Alternatively, you can root your tablet as described in https://forum.xda-developers.com/ga...recovery-twrp-3-1-0-1-samsung-galaxy-t3581359, but instead of SuperSU use Magisk. Be sure not to install the permissive kernel as it will break your Magisk SafetyNet status. Once Magisk is up and running (and green) you can install Netflix and other similar apps directly from Play Store. Hope this helps.
I'm having this same issue on a new tablet. It's never been rooted, but the Netflix app won't update. I can download the new apk from apkmirror, and everything runs just fine. I don't understand. But at least I got it working.
Hi Guys
I'm planning to root my 7t pro. Want to check following before I do
1. Does the bank apps work and Snapchat works ?
2. Any safety net issues after Root?
3. Any other thing that doesn't work after Root ?
1) It depends on the app. Snapchat works fine as long as you don't use Xposed.
2) Nope. Should work just fine.
3) Widevine L1 as it defaults to L3 upon unlocking the bootloader. But not root related.
So I just use the patched boot image tutorial to root the latest version?

You need to enable Magisk Hide as well as enable it for the Play Store. Then clear the Play Store's data and it Netflix should show up.
Netflix is hidden if the Play Store shows that it's an unofficial device in the info screen.
I recently installed Lineage 16.0 (AOSP 9.0) rom on my Fire HDX 7. I had to side load both Disney Plus and Netflix because they weren't available in the Play Store. When I try to play a video on Disney+ it gives me "Error code 39" and when I try to run Netflix it say "This app is not compatible with your device".
I tried editing the build.prop file to change my device info and I also used Magisk to hide root and I also unrooted the device and neither worked.
Any ideas?
Netflix version 7.74.0 is working fine for me on Lineage OS 14.1 as for Disney+ sorry to say but that will NEVER be an option for us as this is what has been said else where about the way they do their service. "That is definitely true. Other applications also require additional certification. For example, HDHomerun app will require Google play store certification in order to play DRM channels. Disney+ require the similar thing. This means your box must be fully Google Play store certified and not rooted or running custom OS."

Steps I performed:
1. Restart router
2. Restart mibox
3. Logoff Netflix
4. Wipe Netflix app
5. Turn off mibox and tv for whole night
6. Chenge HDMI wire and plug on other HDMI socket on TV
7. Connect mibox to other wifi
8. Factory reset my router
9. Install older versions of AndroidTV Netflix
10. Factory reset mibox
11. Install Add-on on Kodi (I logged in but no video playing.)
12. Cast video from Netflix app on smartphone to mibox.
My account is ok, Netflix works on PC on browser, Netflix app on my Android Redmi Note 7 is working.
I dont know what to do. I know my device is certified, it has Netflix preinstalled.
Does anybody know a solution?
Edit: I have android 6.0.1

I ran into the same issue today. I'm not sure when it started as I didn't use my device for the past 2 days. But anyway I followed all the guides online and ended up doing 2 factory reset which didn't fix the issue. I was still on Android 8.0 though because I wanted to keep TrueHD passthrough so after the 2nd factory reset I allowed the 9.0 upgrade to go through and now Netflix is working again. Bummer!
Experiencing this exact issue as of 2 days. Have no idea how to fix this
i have the same problem i am on android 9 but not the latest update
UPDATE:I have updated the mi box and its working i think it has to do with drm keys been updated
I read many bad opinions about updating this Mi Box to higher versions of Android. I was avoiding to update as hard as I can.
Are there any problems with version 9.0? I heard about lagging, slowing down, apps crashing...
Which functions I will lost updating from 6.0.1 to 9.0? I know it is one way procedure, it cant be undone..
Also had this problem. I've updated to the latest firmware and Netflix works again.

I'm not sure about what you lose from 6.0.1, but I know from 8.0 to 9.0 you lose HD audio passthrough. Atmos with DD 5.1 still works but you can no longer pass 7.1 Atmos, True HD, and DTS X. If you don't care for those then it's not a big deal to upgrade
Those who don't want to upgrade can send ESN and I can integrate it in a modded Netflix apk which will play Netflix in full HD.
Is it safe to share ESN number?
Yes, you can cut it after the 5-figure number.

I sent you ESN via private message.
I see. I will send you the apk with the ESN number added in the evening.
Here is the Netflix apk which should work on Mibox.
The apk doesn't contain the full ESN, just the part which is the same for all Miboxes:
com.netflix.ninja_8.1.2_build_3844_mod_XIAOMIMIBOX3_fullHD
MediaFire is a simple to use free service that lets you put all your photos, documents, music, and video in a single place so you can access them anywhere and share them everywhere.

It worked for me!

Does it work on ANY Mibox 3?
I ask because I have the same device (MDZ 16 AB), and the same problem - my Netflix stopped working on 10/12, a week ago.
When I saw this topic it was like the "light at the end of the tunnel", as I also don't want to update the box (mine is ATV 8.0 Oreo) and yet wish to have Netflix back. So I didnt think twice when I saw the modded apk file, so immediately went try to install it on the box.
Unfortunately, installation failed! I tried using Root Explorer app, as I always do when installing apks on mibox. But no success there. There is a message that says someting like "could not match the previous installed version." Reminding that Netflix app is a "system native" one, that is impossible to uninstall, just deactivate. Maybe it has something to do with this.
PLease, let me know a solution for this. I was so close that giving up now is not an option!
It should work on any Mibox if you manage to install it. I don't have the Mibox myself. I just modified the apk with the ESN number. Try this from another user:
1. delete app data
2. force stop app
3. Uninstall
4. Restart device
5. install moded apk
My mibox is running on Android 6.0.1 and Netflix was preinstalled but not system app, I was able to uninstall it.
Maybe it is possible to uninstall Netflix via ADB?
Thanks for the feedback.
I'm realizing that the holdback is my Netflix being a system app, impossible to remove it completely. I've already wiped off everything I could from it - app data, unnistall updates... basically it is back to factory version. That is the best I can do.
Previously, I was able to install other Netflix versions via Aptoide TV (none worked, of course), through the "update" option, much like the Play Store way. So maybe the matter is the modded apk's way of installation.

Well, if it helps to clarify the issue, this is exactly the error message after trying to install the modded apk. It says:
"INSTALL_FAILED_UPDATE_INCOMPATIBLE Package com.netflix.ninja signature do not match the previously installed version_ignoring!
So, would anyone know of any more ways to erase a system app on Android TV? I can't believe we are on the threshold of 2022 and there is still no way to get rid of these bloatwares quickly and easily!
Or else, any indication of a nice and clean tutorial for removing app via ADB, specific for mibox 3, would be of great help!
Happens also in my mibox 3.
How come lots of people are having this issue these days.
Seems like they are having some kind of expiration date bug.
