Hi guys!
What can I do to get better battery life?
I'm now using devoid #froyo-final, franko kernet 19.4 and SetCPU (480-691 smartass, screen-off: 320-320 smartass). What am I doing wrong?
What are the best profiles for SetCPU? What do you guys use for "screen off"?
What is the best ROM + kernel to use.
I used mik's CM port, but it drains battery kinda fast.
I don't want to have a battery that lasts one week, I just want 48 hours with moderate using.
How can I do this?
Thanks!
Use 480/729 MHz and 480/480 use with the screen off with the kernel minmax 19.4 franco

Dont use screen off profile,it causes wakelocks and reduces battery when idle.

Firstly, when you're using smartass, there is no need to set a sleep profile. Smartass, by default, sleeps at a lower frequency than the max frequency. Just set min and max freq and leave it as is. No profiles needed. The profiler app itself may consume resources scanning for CPU usage.
If you want best battery life, go for Mik's 6.5.7 with the latest franco's kernel/fserve's version of franco's kernel. Do a clean install, clear your battery stats, etc (I assume that you know the drill). Manage your apps and the auto-syncing feature properly and you'll have good battery life for sure. And, pls give some time for the ROM and kernel to get accustomed to your phone. You'll get good battery life gradually.
Good luck
yes do what gkarthik16 said you can also use v6supercharger script
don't use setcpu use cm7 inbuilt feature with smartass governor(I am using smartassv2 governor because I am on mik's 6.6.1)
from settings >application>running services>stop the app or uninstall the app you don't need
also charge when battery is below 20%
Just set it at [email protected] smoothassV2,no need for profiles

For mi, te cm7 ia like the worst rom. Battery line is really low.

What is 'moderate usage' to you, and how long does your battery usually last?
Cm has a bug which causes wakelocks at.first. gets better in awhile

Try AGA-ROM with setcpu 480/729 smartass. You will need new baseband. Here is how to flash new baseband > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1149530

Tried it. It sucks.
48 hrs with moderate usage wont be easy. if you play games too forget it in any rom. im on cm7 6.6.1 with franco kernel and i'd be lucky to get more then 24 hrs but i do play lots of games and browsing and wifi on for 18 hrs a day . i found that using automation software like tasker or green power to toggle data or wifi gives a great boost to battery though.

So i'm running Das Bamf 1.4 ROM with Adrynalyne's 4.3a kernal ADW launcher blah blah blah.
Problem is I've read through the comments for the kernals and the rom and it seems like everyone is getting greatly improved battery life. But with me I can only get maybe 5-8 hours with light/moderate use. In the past 5 min I've dropped 2% just looking through the checking the time and changing some settings.
I did a full wipe when I flashed them.. and since i'm running 4.3a (stock speed) i'm not using setcpu or anything. Am i missing something?
Are you using SetCPU? If so, what are the configurations for it?
No I'm not running Setcpu. I'm not trying to OC and the kernal i'm using is designed for stock speeds.
ok so turned off my 4g radio... and now i'm getting a lot better battery life. i feel like i was getting better battery life with my stock kernal (when i have my 4g on). but with 3g only my batter is outstanding so far.
You can still use setCPU without overclocking. I'm using an oc/uv kernel but I set my max speed to 1ghz. I set up profiles to decrease the max speed as my battery decreases. I also use a profile that sets my max speed at 348 when the screen is off. I get anywhere from 16 to 24 hours battery life on 3g depending on my usage.

hey guys, i am experiencing huge battery drain on cm7..it was fine till i was using 6.5.7, but when i updated to 6.5.8 my battery drain got really big..1-2% every 10-15mins on standby and 5-7% while playing games and using data for only 10mins!!..so i switched back to 6.5.7 but now am having the same problem with it too...my setcpu is 748-600..help?
Don't use setcpu
It runs ad service so eat ram a lot
Use no frill
And use Fserve kernel also used this setting
480 to 729 MHz
Smartassv2
Still getting same problem.then try.my rom arc_os which is based on Mike 6.5.8

Try wiping everything, formatting boot and system, then flash ROM again.
Charge battery to 100% and calibrate it.

Just installed No-Frill (just wanna see, what it is and what it's doing. Was using CM7 built in tool) - one question - which I/O scheduler u recommend to use?

Just use built in cm7 cpu settings instead. For IO try noop.

Download Battery Calibration from Market
boot into recovery and wipe battery stats...
this works for me whenever i got high battery drains..
check if your phone is getting hot, if yes, open spareparts and check the high cpu usage , check what app is getting rogue, kill it, or better reboot your device! then install watchdog lite to monitor cpu usage, also check what keeps the device awake on spareparts. hope it helps
Actually the most common reason is the phone CPU being awake all the time. You will fix this by reflashing your ROM (without data wipe).
On The lg optimus one, which rom offers the best battery life?
I am currently using the AGA rom and my battery life isnt the best.
Just so i dont exceed my monthly bandwidth i am wondering in your experiences which rom has the best battery life? i am using 3g data but i configured juice defender to turn it off whenever my screen is off.
I'm currently using CM7.2 .35, with franco.kernel 2.6.35.14 and I'm getting exceptional battery life (85% by the end of the day with normal use, 14 hour day).

Hey, You should use CM7.2 A6 with goldenleaf 6DEC LG for the best battery life ... I usually get 28-32 hrs battery backup with light-moderate usage,, which includes-
-1 hr 2G data
-2hr texting
-1/2hr fruit ninja
-2.5hr Wifi
EDIT:you need to flash old baseband from your PC before you can use other custom ROMs
HIT THANKS IF IT HELPED YOU
Go for Openoptimus build 2.202.1+paolo v6 kernel. ..
definitely the best combo. ..
offers more than 2 days of battery with moderate use to me. ..
stunning gb rom. ..
follow the proper instructions of flashing as mentioned by bytecode. ..
and everything shud be just fine. ..
I LOVE THAT ROM. ..
I'm a heavy 3g user ..(all d time when my screen is on for downloads n browsing) ,2g when screen off for fb chat!must say no rom offers a solution! I felt new baseband roms gave slightly better battery with 3g !but Im on cyanogen based rom since I can't sacrifice customizations!
Oxygen v1.1 has good battery, also adfads A6 is really nice!get urself goldenleaf lg kernel! Also Google on how to improve battery!I prefer setting minimum frequency at 122(many say it not correct) but I get some extra juice when my phone is on standby!!

how do you have your phone switch from 3g to 2g when screen is off....? do you manually go into the settings and change it to 2g or is there an app that automatically does it?
also how would i go about switching from a .35 rom to a .32? is it just a simple flash of the rom from my recovery?
Bump...?
would anyone like to share more battery saving tips/roms?
Don't use your phone as much

Don't worry, this is not a what is the best kernel question. However it is similar. I have tired all the kernels, speed mod neak redpill syihah phenomannal. With certain kernels such as neak, speedmod, phenomanal, high get a really high Android OS usage. I have read this is just a reporting error however it seems the battery drains alot when in standby. This is not a waklock problem because i dont have any in the battery usage graph and in better battery stats. Does anyone know how to eliminate this in speedmod as it is my favourite kernel.
My last question is what is the best kernel for standby battery drain, i only use my phone around one hour of display time per day. With speedmod i drain around 3 percent a hour without doing anything and again their are no wakelocks.
If you could provide any insite that would be great.
Thanks
It depends too many variables can affect stand by, type of data your on, your signal strength, and such. Only true way of finding it out is to experiment with different kernels and governors. Try use a governor which sleeps well like lulzactive or similar. They have suspend profiles when screen is off, or can achieve something similar with setcpu and setting a screen off profile with conservative.
Allows a good few charge cycles to judge its performance as battery settles.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk
Yeah i use the KL1 modem with redpill then one im using right now their is only conservative ondemand hyper and sleepy which is the best for standby
I can't answer that as not used that kernel I myself use only ondemand and works out fine for me. Try out conservative and see how that fares.

Ok but can anyone speak to the high android os usage?
Anyone?
After testing several kernels i found that SIYAH 2.6.9 for Gingerbread and Siyah v3.0beta6 for ICS are tremendous on standby and you can see the low Android os consumption (varies between 3% to 10%)
for me siyah workd well with very less andriod os drain but the newer versions ,i am not satisfied cause its heating up more...iam experimenting all kernels ,i was on redpill latest and it workd well, wivout any setcpu, gov, tweaks etc...since 3 days on saiyah 2.6.14+ an its giving good results like the os drain is less than 10.....an iam not on any gov ,tweaks but ill b trying uv,gov twek .....
and yes for reminder iam heavy duty wiv 385+ apps

which rom make the wt19i consume less baterry ? Or some script i dont know, my baterry stand 6 h +- wtf :| Im using Lupus Kernel v3, with 24Mhz minimun and 1024Mhz max, smartassv2 and noop, but is not the cpu, is other thing...
how long is the battery for you? What rom and kernel you use?
I have a feeling its gonna end up like 'best ROM threads'
BTW there are already several threads on battery life on ROMs... so use the search tool...

You could try different governors.
Pick some thing else and give a try for a while.
Ps: I agree with AJ just switch it off it will run longer

First of all, running the phone on minimum 24MHz is very bad for performance and battery life!
The best minimum CPU frequency for Xperia 2011 MDPI devices is 250MHz. It consumes the least amount of juice.
Even less then lower frequencies.
Also try some other CPU governors like smartassv2, scary, savagedzen etc.
Try a different kernel. Kernels affect battery life the most.
I'd like to think that my ROMs are quite battery efficient
Or try X-PLODE.
or,
Try setting these two values, and watch battery life increase:
echo 1000 > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_expire_centisecs;
echo 2000 > /proc/sys/vm/dirty_writeback_centisecs;
You can put those in any existing init.d script. Just make sure there are no other entries with different values!
