If your running the latest ota with 2.3.4 then you have the only working kernel until we get the source from htc.

One would think that a custom kernel would be found under development. I know virus had the ziggy kernel so just wasn't sure if the source code had been released or not. Using the xda premium app isn't quite the same as a PC.

Blaming the app?. Oh come on. Lol..
I can guarantee that when the source is released and a kernel is made its not going to be hard to miss. You'll see it everywhere.

Have you rebooted the phone? Take the OTA? More info would be better. And there is a Q&A on all XDA apps and you should have put this there. Not trying to be a douche.

Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Its not that anyone thinks they're better than you, its just that you clearly have a problem following the forum rules, and its highly irritating to those of us who do. Questions go in the q and a section... your post is clearly a question, therefore that is where it belongs. By posting your question here, you are just opening yourself to being flamed by the community for cluttering the development thread with non-development BS. If you ask these questions in q and a, not only will they get answered quicker, people will be a whole lot nicer to you.

Stop with the drama. Report the post and be done with it. There is no need to even reply to the poster.

There's a Q&A Subforum for a reason. If you post there people will answer you. Don't post in a forum and expect to get spoon fed. Everyone everywhere absolutely hates it. Also, posting the same question more than once starting more than one thread is completely unnecessary as well. Bump your thread every few hours if no one has answered and be done with it. Don't start multiple threads about the same question.

Did you seriously necro a thread that's over a year old to just make a comment like that? Some of us don't take it seriously, but we hate to see random garbage (like this thread) cluttering up useful posts on the forum. /endrant

To create a kernel from scratch, one who would need to have made the phone itself to understand the drivers, as well as have insanely extensive knowledge in Linux development.
Since none of us here have worked on the actually making of I777, it would be impossible. But to make things difficult on our developers, Samsung hasn't even released the full source for our phone, nor for the international version ICS.

Yeah, atinm and codeworkx know their **** - they've been focusing on I9100 because it has what they need.
To make it clear - People like atinm and codeworkx HATE using initramfs repacks for Cyanogenmod. (I do too, but I don't want to group myself with them as I'm not in their league) However, their attempts to make a Gingerbread kernel ICS-compatible didn't work out very well - this works on some devices but clearly not the I9100. Most likely Samsung changed some of the kernel/userspace interfaces and there is no documentation of these changes - so even if you did reimplement their drivers on a Linux 3.0 source code base, Samsung broke compatibility of those older drivers with newer firmwares.
The end result is that I9100 CM9 releases are using initramfs-repacked kernels.
Oh and it's KERNEL not KERNAL.
I was gonna mention codeworkx also.. And thanks as always for the helpful info!
