Go here. Read the post carefully. Make sure you flash the correct kernal and you good to go.

And make sure to back up your /EFS folder before you do ANYTHING. You lose that, you lose your phone.

[Q] z4root temp root option concerns

I have seen so many places about z4root app. Would love to know some info
I have some concerns:
Will it work on Galaxy s3?
Will the phone come back in the original state after temp rooting?
Will this void the warrenty in any way?
I wouldn't use it....I'd root via Odin, then install extweaks, then you can add or remove root as you please

If you use a JIG or Triangle Away (ICS only) and then flashed a stock ROM then you will be able to use your warranty.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
So i have to root my device and install triangle away then flash custom ROM rite....
But after this if we have any hardware issue can i claim warranty from Samsung...
We rooted the device na so may the warranty avoided...

Yes, technically, your warranty is voided by flashing an insecure kernel or custom ROM, but if Samsung does not know about it, then there's not any way they can deny you warranty service, so the Triangle Away app or the Jig are options you can use to keep them from finding out. The jig only works on some bootloaders that are older. Newer ones prevent it from working, but the bootloader can be downgraded super easily via Odin flash without even touching the flash counter at all.
The Triangle Away app is an easy option, but it is not without risk, and even the read me info will tell you that there is a small risk of bricking your device, just as there is with any flash procedure you do, but the risk is very minimal as long as you follow the basic common-sense guidelines you find here and read BEFORE you flash anything.
Best advice? Make a backup of your EFS FOLDER BEFORE YOU DO ANY FLASHING because without it, your phone will basically be an expensive MP3 player. No calls. Nothing. You need the EFS data to use the device as a phone or make a data connection, so DON'T screw it up without a backup. Therre is a EFS Backup Tool here in the forum to do exactly that, and it works.

1) either u have already a hardware issue after a custom rom installation and u r hooked up.
2) if its a thing which is bothering u before looking to install a custom rom after rooting, then i would suggest not to mess up things but stick with your official firmware and wait for an OTA update
...
Thanks mate like to stick wit stock....

Problems/doubts related to rooting the phone

I was going through threads on rooting, ROMs, kernels and bricking. Before reading threads about bricking I wanted to root my phone but after reading I got scared of bricking my phone which I think is difficult to debrick (unbrick).
Is it really the case that we cannot debrick the phone at home? Is it ok to root with such a consequence?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
All I can say is if you're that worried about it, don't root your phone or flash anything. Leave it on stock & enjoy it.
Is it possible to change ROM without rooting the phone?
And what are the chances of bricking the phone while rooting? And if bricked what is procedure to make it as earlier

use this to root your S2...It is 100% risk free. However use only if u are on ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1501719
Also, read everything before u flash a rom/kernel..95% of them get bricked without reading or consulting properly

I read it, but I didn't not find anything written as it won't brick the phone. So just wanted to confirm even if I made any mistake, it won't brick my phone, right?

i was trying to root my SGS2 using this method but i never found file CWM.zip file in the "apply updates from external storage" options. i tried to moving it to sdcard (main folder), creating a folder in sdcard and by moving it to folder android under sdcard (which is visible in those options) but couldn't find CWM.zip file. i use volume up + home key + power button to go to recovery mode.
plz help me regarding that why i couldn't find that file
Done with rooting.

no spoonfeeding allowed!
Half the adventure of modding your device is learning and understanding how. If you don't understand something than you probably shouldn't do it. Read over and over again and if it helps use Google to get a better understanding.

Read the stickies and you will find a guide. Anyway there is never a 100 percent chance of not bricking...
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Foolproof none .
Most risky for those that want to root and dont know why or how and are to lazy to read the faqs and guides .
PhilZ or TWRP root and recovery .
