Hey guys, so I've been trying to do the OTA update for the bell Atrix for a few days now. Everytime I install it and the phone reboots I get the android Triangle exclamation and I need to do a battery pull
I was rooted, but I unrooted the phone using Super one click. I also unfroze everything in Titanium backup...
Any ideas what would be causing this?
I too have this problem...same behaviour. Still running on 2.2.1 though. You too?

Hi everyone, had a weird thing happen after I tried to upgrade to the Perfect Storm 1.5 ROM. I flashed the new radio & installed the ROM - everything seemed to go fine, but after I my phone came up, any app that I went into that required root didn't work. They all said my phone wasn't rooted... The superuser was still there. I tried doing a factory data reset but still ran into the same thing. So I flashed the previous radio back to my phone & went back to the other ROM that I was using - my phone at least acknowledges that it's rooted now & all my rooted apps work. But what the heck happened? Why did my phone want to act like it wasn't rooted? I thought about trying the other Gingerbread ROMS but I'm afraid of running into the same thing as I did with the Perfect Storm. Any thoughts / ideas? Thanks!
Gingeritis....try it
The Perfect Storm 1.5 ROM acting like it's NOT rooted?
Ok, thanks! How long have you been using this rom?
I have a Atrix for about 2 months.
Recently the phone reboots itself every few days for no apparent reason.
How can I check what is causing this problem?
Stock? Or you have custom roms? I know in 1.2.6 and 1.5.7 I had random reboots on stock must have been the firmwares but on 1.8.3 no restarts for me
AT&T ATRIX - VERSION 2.3.4 ROOTED BL UNLOCKED
Thanks for your reply.
stock, rooted 1.83.
I'm looking for a way to debug what can cause this behavior.
Where did you purchase it from? Take it back for an exchange if you can.
Sometimes the radio plays up.
You must flash it back to total stock, from here if you still have issues i would be thinking you have a hardware problem.
I'm still looking for solution that i will not need to start from scratch
I just uninstall my go launcher pro and same widget's and will see if its help.
If not i will wait for the new version coming soon 2.3.4.
Does anybody know a way to disable OTA updates on Thunderbolt? I have a rooted phone, and don't want to deal with updating for now. My problem is the OTA updates cause the phone to reboot, the update fails and then I have to reboot into recovery, clear the caches, reboot again. It's a pain, and it seems to be happening at least once a day now.
Any hacks out there I can apply to disable the OTA updates?

If you have Titaniumbackup Pro then just freeze the update/updater apk. If not, I would suggest getting it, it is well worth the cost.
Great suggestion. I have TiBu Pro and have frozen the two Update apps I found in the list along with "VZW Package Installer 1.0" and "Field Test 2.1-update1" and "Field Trial 2.2.1", having done the last three just now. It did try to do yet another update a few hours ago, so we'll have to see if the last three do the trick.
Anybody got any other suggestions for Apps I should freeze to prevent OTA updates?
Update: None of the items I've frozen seems to have made a difference. Still looking for other ideas.
I'm thinking it was DM.apk or something similiar that controlled ota updates. I don't have a stock rom running atm so i can't be sure. When you find the correct one you won't be able to get to the update phone screen from settings any longer. Wish i could be more help but i just can't remember.

I was having that same problem and I just broke down and applied the update. I used clockwork rom manager and a rooted/deodexed update file that I found on the forums (linked from androidpolice, i think). Flashed the update, without wiping the current setup, then flashed the radio from the bootloader. Worked like a charm. I've got the update, it's not searching for more, and it reinstalled all the bloatware that I deleted instead of freezing when I got the phone. I went back through and freezed all the bloat junk, and my TB is running better than ever. Oh, and I'm just running a rooted stock rom.
I too suffered the same problem. I just ended up installing a custom rom to get rid of it for good. Best decision I ever made, I really like the Synergy build.
It seems on Eclipse 2.2, I sometimes will randomly get a "com.android.phone has stopped processing" error message. This seems to occur after I've had my phone hooked up to my PC via the "PC Mode" USB connection.
Usually, if I switch to charge mode, that seems to clear it up. Other times, I have to reboot.
I'm running Eclipse 2.2 and I did it correctly:
rooted under stock 2.3.4 using Pete's Motorola tools
Voodoo root keepered my SU and temporarily unrooted
applied 2.3.5 build 418 update via stock recovery
rerooted and deleted the SU backup
wiped data/cache/dalvik and applied Eclipse 2.2 image via BSR
I do have the latest V6 turbo charger scripts running using option 6 and Lag Nullifier.
I also applied Peppermints GB battery bug fix which replaces the following two files:
/system/bin/battd
/system/bin/libbattd.so
I don't believe these would affect the phone process, but what I wanted to know is, has anyone else encountered this?
Thanks!
i have not, had that happen
I'm running V6_SuperCharger_for_Android-Update9_RC9_test6
tried that before finding your post in eclipse forum
not using battery fix
edit: sorry didn't read close enough
haven't tried pc mode yet, so nevermind
