X10 wont start... - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there!
I have an X10 that i got of my girlfriends dad. But it wont start.
This is what happends:
When i longpress the on/off button it vibrates and the green led flashes once... and nothing more.
When i put it in Flash Mode, green light shines and it bootloops, connect and disconnect from my PC.
I have tried to change battery, but didnt help.
Anyone have an solution or idé of what could be wrong?

Sounds similar to what happened to mine before it stopped responding completely.
Vibrated when powered on but screen wouldn't respond.
Could get it into flash mode, but the computer wouldn't detect it.
I sent it back and SE replaced the mainboard. Works like a charm now.

if the phone is not going to sony ericsson screen you can't do much about it. see if flash tool recognizes and reflash a rom if it does. if not then most probably your phone is bricked. try contacting the service shop...

Wrong section mate.........

I know this probably is my one fault and i f#"¤"# up big time... But hoping some off you guys maybe got some idees.
Sounds like u need to use seus to get your phone back. Then try again.
Good job the x10 is almost brick proof.

Maybe your sdcard is corrupted. Try to format in your PC.
Try another USB cable.
Try to charge your phone in "off line " mode.
If not. Work, try seus.

I had the same problem this morning. I went to bed last night and the phone was fine. This morning it wasn't booting up at all, I wasn't even getting the SE logo.
I was able to fix it with SEUS: plugged in the USB port while holding the Back key and the device turned on in Flash mode so I was able to flash it.
Hope it helps.

I have the same problem. First it wasn't working, then it was, and now it isn't again. I don't get a SE logo also. But when I plug in, I'm not able to turn on flash mode. It freezes, and SEUS says it can't repair my phone. What should I do?

What procedure are you following to turn it on in flash mode?
What I did was that I plugged the USB cable while holding down the back button, there is no need to press any other button, it should automatically turn on.

That's what I did. I select factory reset in SEUS, it tells me to press the back button en plug in. I do so, it detect that I did, the little light on the phone turns green. SEUS begin repairing, but almost immediately says it is unable to repair.
I think it is because the phone freezes there. When I plug out, the light stays green, and all I can do is pull the battery out.
The same when I just try to turn the phone on. The light flashes, it vibrates ones (like it normally would) and then it stops and I cant do anything with it but pull out the battery.
you need to 1, pull the battery. 2, connect your phone via usb (still without battery). 3, open pc companion. 4, choose repair. 5, select x10 when asked phone model. 6, when asked to connect phone, put your battery in whilst holding the back button. 7, sit back, relax and your phone will be restored.
the reason your phone won't turn on/update/restore is due to a bootloop.
follow above steps and you x10 should always restore to factory...
I just think that the battery is too low and it can't live to finish the repair process

Tried that now, but it doesn't work. The phone doesn't go into flash mode, and the pc doesn't find him. SEUS on the other hand does find him, but gives the same error.

That would really make sense, the only problem is that my phone doesn't charge when I put him in the loader. Or is there an other way to try to charge it?

Tried again a few times, and now the phone goes into flash mode, and Pc Compagnion starts to repare, but gives an error after a while (the process bar shows zero progress, so I think the error is a time out error).
Other suggestions?
Thanks a lot for those many answers I will try all and then I tell you if it works !

[Q] Help with Bricked x10 mini pro

Hi,
My x10 mini pro started to act "funny" (restarting and shutting down by it self) so I found this forum. Kept reading a lot of posts for 6h until I decided to try flashing it with a costum rom to fix it.
Flashed via flashtool the Sony Style's 1.1 by paul-xxx; it worked for a while, then shut down again. But this time, with flashing red light (3 times, with hard-reset [home+power button] when trying to turn on and a looping red light (every 3~4 seconds) when trying to get to flash mode.
After some time, it vanished from existence and was presumed dead. No lights, nothing at all. Send to repair, they couldn't fix it, but they restored the lights (red loop again).
So, now it got dead again. I have two batteries, both charged, but still nothing.
I really don't know what to do. I thought it was HW damage, but the repair guy said it was software corruption.
So, any light on my head ? :/

If You're still able to enter into flash mode, try the SEUS restore.

No flash mode. That's my curse ç.ç
If I could just get it up, SEUS is waiting for it.

Dont know if it can help. .but give it a try with a new connecting wire.. maybe the connecting wire/port is damaged.. because it was the same with one of my friends.. he replaced with a new battery n a cord n it got fixed.. give it a try.. till then will search for u.. if found will post back..
Used a new one, from my girlfriend's 2011 mini pro, bought a new battery and fully charged on another phone. Still, no flash mode.
I would say that the port of the phone is out, but the repair guy used it with no problems... as he said.
The phone was hers, but she bought a new one. once this turned into a brick.
If I fix it, is mine... but, maybe there is no solution... :/
Just confirmed: Battery isn't the issue here. Recharged them to 100% and still the phone won't give a single sign of life.
Apparently, I'm doomed. I don't have money to buy fixing boxes and cables, but it really pains me out.
I already downloaded all the cooking material to start working on it, but... I guess it's dead.
As I searched, x10 mini pro doesn't have a test point, but a cable set up in the back board. But I couldn't find the schematics, just boxes... that will cost me a LOT.
I'll be watching the thread and test new options you guys give me... but that's all.
Sorry to bother you all with this issue..
Red light blinking again. 3 with home+power and constant bliking red connected to PC or trying flash mode. I'm confused now >_>

Phone isn't detected.
EDIT: It doesn't respond with or without flash mode. But when I disconnect it from the cable, he blinks a red light 3 times in sequence. Same with home+power.

You've also installed the Gordons Gate drivers before doing Your tests?
from the flashtool folder install <flashtool folder>\drivers\gg-????.exe
Then reboot pc and re-try...
Yep. GG-setup.exe installed. Restarted.
Phone looks "dead". But it blinks red lights without the charger / cable usb.
Odd.
EDIT: Left charging on the wall with red blinking light. Dead again. No sign of life whatsoever.
Update:
Noticed that it "ignores" my attempts on the screen buttons. Back and home = same reaction... as if I wasn't pressing them.
I'm thinking that I've got hardware problems... or some HARD software issues. =/
Help NO gsm!!!
Hi I tried to unlock bootloader but after going through the tests my gsm failed to start working phone just says please insert sim card but there is nothing wrong with the sim. Please need advice

[Q] Need help with a DEAD X10 mini.. :-)

My girlfriend's X10 mini won't start anymore, so i bought her a new Xperia Mini. But i'd like to get however this one working again.
THE FACTS:
- Phone won't turn on in ANY way.
- Battery seems ok. I also disassembly it and cleaned the contacts.
- If connected to a pc, i can Hot Reboot and see the red led blinking, but it won't work all the times. If connected to a wall charger phone seems completely dead.
- Sometimes red led blink also if i hot reboot with phone disconnected. Sometimes.
- Only once, having power+home pressed, phone vibrate and my pc seems to recognize it. But it stock on installing peripherical driver and when i released home button to have a hand free for the mouse, phone disconnected.
- Neither Pc Compainon, neither SEUS, or Flashtools can recognize phone when plugged with back button pressed. It seems it cannot enter flash mode.
I searched and tried EVERY SINGLE thread, but nothing seems to work.
Am i doing something wrong, does someone have an idea, or may i consider this phone definitively bricked??
It sounds to me like your battery is well and truly dead and buried.
so, changing the battery is the way. ok, i'll try
Use the battery which is fully charged....then use SEUS...... Then u will get ur cell back....

Help with a brick

So yesterday my phone started to act weird all of the sudden. I can't turn it on. When I plug it in, the red led lights up, then it changes to orange (or sometimes green). While that happens only the backlight works no sony logo etc. I can't enter any of the modes (volume up, or down) to try to flash the stock rom through flashtools. While it's plugged in this process happens in a loop. When I remove the charger it's just dead. When I press the red button where the sim is I get three short vibrations and nothing happens.
Anyone with an idea what can I do?
Really love this phone I'd be devastated if I had to change now.
Hi, just do the following: Download xperia companion, click on repair, then look for the option that goes like this "I cannot acces to my phone, phone not recognized" something like that, now let it finish.
About that, I forgot to mention I tried it already. Nothing happens in the process. Bootloop just goes on and on.

Did you try flashing the stock rom using the flashtool ?
I see you didn't read my first post.
Got it fixed! Wasn't a software, but a hardware issue. A thingy that connects the display to the board went kaboom and the replacement was rather cheap.
Just in case someone has similar behavior...
