I recently loaded another launcher that came with a wallpaper that I really like. I removed the launcher but the phone kept the wallpaper (not sure how). Now I would like to know where in the phone this wallpaper is stored so that I may save it and not lose it if I want to change to something else later.
Does anyone know where in the system files the current wallpapers are stored?
If you do something like using Titanium to backup the APK of the launcher, you should be able to unpack the apk on your computer and find the wallpaper file for it.
Got you covered pimpin. Android turns it into a system file, but if you rename the extension .jpg you'll have your photo.
/data/data/com.android.settings/files/
It's titled ''wallpaper''. Should be the only file in there, but if not, then....I don't know, guess you got lucky with two!

Try using an application like Astro to browse the internals of your phone and find the files, or plug it in and use your operating systems search functions to look for the filename. Good luck.

Hello all!
I was using the livewallpaper application, and wanted to select different stock wallpapers that came with the Prime, as well as the new ones that came with ICS, on different pages. When I went to select my wallpapers in the Live Wallpaper (LW) app, it let me browse the file manager or the gallery for photos I want. The gallery only contains photos I have taken, or have downloaded. So, I went through the file manager. After going through just about every folder that would hold pictures, I came up with nothing.
Is it possible at all to see and find where the stock wallpapers are? If so, can one find both live and static wallpapers? Or just the static ones?
I have a lot of pictures saved to my phone that I use only for wallpapers. In the stock gallery they are spread throughout all my other pictures. I have QuickPic that allows me to see them in a folder by themselves. But I want to be able to put all these pictures in the stock wallpaper location. With the Verizon wallpapers that came with the phone. Is there a way to do this? I am rooted and completely stock running the OTA ICS.
download a file explorer which have root acces like Solid Explorer, locate the folder which the walpapers are and move them there
I need to mod a tablet, organizing the homescreen icons.
But i need to do this for a massive number of devices, and i need to find a way to do it modyfing an apk or something like that, and flash it through recovery.
I already found how to change the wallpaper, but no clue about shortcuts on home screen...
Any hints?
noone? might be something related to trebuchet?
Solved
It's indeed into trebuchet app.
Decompressing Launcher2.apk you can find into /res/xml/default_workspace.xml all the necessary to setup your workspaces.
Hope it's useful for someone else too.
I've got one of those Chinese X310e phones (similar to Zopo ZP100) that came loaded with a default wallpaper (see attached image showing part of it) and I want to transfer this wallpaper to another android ICS phone.
This default wallpaper is built into the ROM and not in the wallpaper gallery that came with the phone. If I change the default wallpaper the only way I know of reverting to the default paper is by doing a factory reset. I've googled trying to find (using Root Explorer) where this default wallpaper is hidden in the ROM but can't find it. Googling does not help as it seems that the default wallpaper is in a different file location for different phones.
Does anyone know where I can download it, where it is hidden in my ROM or does anybody have it in their wallpaper gallery?
Help appreciated...

Its not an ICS wallpaper . That is the wallpaper from Android 1.5 (Cupcake). Here you go.
Thanks for your reply Theonew but the picture your link directed to is only the central portion of the wallpaper I am looking for. On my ICS if I scroll left of right I get an extended view of your linked picture showing some bigger rocks.
For those who want the full Android lake wallpaper in hi-res, a link is provided in this thread
