[Q] How do i organize the homescreen from rom's file? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I need to mod a tablet, organizing the homescreen icons.
But i need to do this for a massive number of devices, and i need to find a way to do it modyfing an apk or something like that, and flash it through recovery.
I already found how to change the wallpaper, but no clue about shortcuts on home screen...
Any hints?

noone? might be something related to trebuchet?

Solved
It's indeed into trebuchet app.
Decompressing Launcher2.apk you can find into /res/xml/default_workspace.xml all the necessary to setup your workspaces.
Hope it's useful for someone else too.

[Q] Question regarding ADW Launcher

Does anyone know if and how you can use custom icon for Folders on the Home screen. I dont see and option for folder in the custom shortcut section. am i missing something or can it not be done?
I don't think it can be done by default, unless I'm also missing something. I use an app called FolderOrganizer. It's not bad but sometimes the folders are a little slow to open. Its nice that it lets you sort all your apps by labels though. And you can add custom labels and categories.
right,I had that same issue so I got apps organizer.
Organize them into whatever you want and place on home.
They are customizable just like ADW

[Q] DeskClock.apk ("Clock" app) homescreen/launcher?

I'm having trouble finding the answer, so I apologize if it has been answered, but - is there a modified version of said app (found in CM7 as "Clock") that works as an incredibly basic homescreen launcher? I have no use for widgets and whatnot, and would much rather have something as simple as DeskClock.apk as my homescreen.
The only major things I'm looking for specifically are:
-Able to use as a launcher and not just an app
-Can access the app drawer somehow, preferably in a simple/non-animated/non-3D/etc. way.
Surely it would be easier to modify a Launcher to look how you want, rather than what you are suggesting?

Well, I also want something more responsive - I hate the lag/delay of widgets loading when the launcher is opened, the screen is rotated, etc. - even when my phone is overclocked.

[Q] ADW Themers, help, I can't change some icons

Hi, Im making a theme for adw launcher, and im making icons for all my apps to match the theme.
I followed this guide to make themes and everything went good until I got some erros compiling the apk in eclipse... but thats another question for another time.
In the time being, I edited a current theme, adding my icons, and resigning the apk just to test it, but the thing is, there are, until now, 2 icons which dont change at all.
I followed the guide and retrieved the names correctly, one of those apps its on the droid icon database and even with that name, the icon dont change.
Anyone with experience with ADW and the tools, could help me to determine the correct names for the apps?
The apps are these two:
Perfect Viewer
osu!droid
Thanks in advance.
BTW im using a rom based in 2.3.6, maybe the names change between version.

[Q] "Favorites" app

Hey all,
I have recently installed ADW Launcher EX in order to set my tablet up using the Hubs philosophy. Looks great so far, but the one thing I did like was the favorites shortcut in the status bar on the stock sony launcher. I would like to add it somewhere, but it won't let me add it, probably because it is some kind of hidden system app.
Does anyone know how to add these hidden system apps to homescreens or wherever without need root access or a custom rom?

Without some serious dev work, it looks to me like this is not possible. It seems to be a part of the stock launcher from what I can tell. You might be able to write a non-launchable app that just launches the Favourites, but that would only work if they had any public Intents built-in.
Not too sure, since I'm at work and can't check right now, but thats just my thoughts.
Thanks,
I had thought as much. I actually don't mind the sony stock launcher, just wish I could create shortcuts that can jump to certain screens like in ADW launcher. I'm sure if I rooted, I could find some way to access that applications independently, but I don't really want to go that route with my tablet. My phone was enough lol

[Q] Android Default Icons Zip

I'd really like to make a unique Icon Pack, but downloading the original icons to theme is a pain! As of now, I'm simply going to the app page in google play and saving the icons. Is there a zip with a lot of the original icons (preferably 300x300) already out there? If not, is anyone willing to collect a bunch of the icons from apps they typically use and upload it here? I'd like to cover lots of icons so the more I get the better it will be. And it will be free!
Edit: In case this does become something, here is a folder with all the default icons I currently have saved. Hopefully it will save someone the trouble of finding it all over again.
